Refer to the table at bottom right as to which remote controller model is used for each indoor unit. After all wiring is connected to the indoor
and outdoor units, be sure to test the accompanying remote controllers for performance. As always, follow all safety warnings and notes
when operating the units using the remote controller. Additionally, all of the Multi F / Multi F Max outdoor models can use the following con-
trollers when accompanied with the PI 485 VNet Accessory:

Power Wiring / Communications Cable Installation Guidelines
These instructions are for the indoor unit only. For outdoor unit wiring, refer to the outdoor unit installation manual.
Conrm power source specications.
Conrm that the electrical capacity is sufcient.
Starting current must be maintained ±10 percent of the rated current marked on the outdoor unit name plate.
Conrm cable thickness specications.
It is recommended that a circuit breaker is installed, especially if conditions could become wet or moist.
Include a disconnect in the power wiring system. Add an air gap contact separation of at least 1/8 inch in each active (phase) conductor.
A voltage drop may cause the following problems:
1. Magnetic switch vibration, fuse breaks, or disturbance to the normal function of an overload protection device.
2. Compressor will not receive the proper starting current.

Always verify the communication cable is connected to a communications terminal.
Never apply line voltage power to the communica-
tion cable connection. If contact is made, the PCBs may be damaged.
Always include some allowance in the wiring length when terminating. Provide some slack to facilitate removing the electrical panels while
servicing.
The shield of the communications cable connecting the outdoor unit to the indoor units should be grounded only to the outdoor unit frame.
Tie the shield of each cable segment together using a wire nut at the indoor unit. Maintain polarity throughout the communication network.
Position the incoming power to the outdoor unit away from the power / communications cables from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit /
branch distribution unit (Multi F MAX systems only).
Never use a common multiple-core communications cable. Each communications bus shall be provided a separate cable (i.e., be-
tween outdoor unit and indoor unit).
Never ground the shield of the communications cable to the indoor unit frame or other grounded entities of the building. Ground the
communications cable shield only at the outdoor unit. Improperly grounding this cable can cause communications errors.
