ELECTRICAL WIRING
•Allpowerwiringandcommunicationcableinstallationmustbe
performedbyauthorizedserviceprovidersworkinginaccordance
withlocal,state,andNationalElectricalCoderegulationsrelated
toelectricalequipmentandwiring,andfollowingtheinstructionsin
thismanual.
•Undersizedwiringmayleadtounacceptablevoltageattheunitand
maycauseunitmalfunctionandbeafirehazard.
•ProperlygroundtheSingleZoneoutdoorandindoorunit.Ground
wiringisrequiredtopreventaccidentalelectricalshockduring
currentleakage.
•Groundwiringmustalwaysbeinstalledbyaqualiedtechnician.
•Donotconnectgroundwiretorefrigerant,gas,orwaterpiping;
tolightningrods;totelephonegroundwiring;ortothebuilding
plumbingsystem.FailuretoproperlyprovideaNationalElectrical
Code-approvedearthgroundcanresultinelectricshock,physical
injuryordeath.
•Installappropriatelysizedbreakers/fuses/overcurrentprotection
switchesandwiringinaccordancewithlocal,state,andNational
ElectricalCoderegulationsrelatedtoelectricalequipmentand
wiring,andfollowingtheinstructionsinthismanual.Usinganover-
sizedbreakerorfusemayresultinelectricshock,physicalinjuryor
death.
•Considerambientconditions(temperature,directsunlight,inclem-
entweather,etc.)whenselecting,installing,andconnectingthe
powerwiring.
•ProperlygroundtheSingleZoneoutdoorandindoorunit.Improp-
erlygroundwirecancausecommunicationproblemsfromelectrical
noise,andmotorcurrentleakage.Groundwiringmustalwaysbe
installedbyaqualiedtechnician.
•Ifthesystemoperatesinreversedphase,itmaydamagethecom-
pressorsandothercomponents.
•Ifthereisapossibilityofreversedphase,phaseloss,momentary
blackout,orthepowergoesonandoffwhilethesystemis
operating,installafield-suppliedphaselossprotectioncircuit.
•Donotconnectgroundwiretorefrigerant,gas,orwaterpiping;
tolightningrods;totelephonegroundwiring;ortothebuilding
plumbingsystem.FailuretoproperlyprovideaNationalElectrical
Code-approvedearthgroundcanresultinpropertydamageand
equipmentmalfunction.

•SingleZonesystemsoperateat1Ø,208-230V,60Hz.
•Powersupply,wiretypeandsizeshouldbeselectedbasedonNationalElectricalCodeandlocalcodes.Maximumallowablevoltage
fluctuation±10%ornameplateratedvalue.RefertoFigure54forwiringguidelines.
•ProperlygroundtheSingleZoneoutdoorunitandindoorunitperNationalElectricalCodeandlocalcodes.
•Useonlycopperwiringthatisstrandedandshieldedwiththewiresseparatelyinsulated.
•Groundwireshouldbelongerthanthecommonpower/communicationwires.
•RefertotheinsideoftheChassisCoverforCircuitandTerminalBlockDiagramsforyourmodelunit.
•Alwaysmatchcolorcodesofeachwireandfollowwiringdiagram.
