ELECTRICAL WIRING
•Ifpowerwiresarenotproperlyterminatedandfirmlyattached,thereisriskoffire,electricshock,andphysicalinjuryordeath.
•Nevergroundtheshieldofthecommunicationscabletotheindoorunitframeorothergroundedentitiesofthebuilding.
•Neverapplylinevoltagepowertothecommunicationscableterminalblock.Ifcontactismade,thePCBsmaybedamaged.
•Alwaysincludesomeallowanceinthewiringlengthwhenterminating.Providesomeslacktofacilitateremovingtheelectrical
panelswhileservicing.

Terminate multiple power wires of
the same gauge to both sides.

Guidelines
Best practice dictates using ring or spade terminals to terminate
power wiring at the power terminal block (Figure 55).
If ring terminals or spade clips are not available, then:
Donotterminatedifferentgaugewirestothepowerterminalblock.Slack
inthewiringmaygenerateheatandre.
•Whenterminatingwiresofthesamethickness,followtheinstruc-
tionsdemonstratedintheillustrationsbelowatFigure56.
•Firmlyattachthewire;secureinawaytopreventexternalforces
frombeingimpartedontheterminalblock.
•Useanappropriatelysizedscrewdriverfortighteningtheterminals.
•Donotovertightentheconnections;overtighteningmaydamage
theterminals.
