This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can kill or injure you and others. All safety messages will follow the safety alert symbol and either the word WARNING or CAUTION.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 5 Installation • Contact the dealer to have the air conditioner installed. • Contact the dealer for repairs, maintenance and to reinstall the air conditioner. • Be sure to only use accessories made by LG which are specifically designed for use with the equipment and have them installed by a professional. • Be sure to use only those parts which are listed in the service parts list. Never attempt to modify the equipment.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS • If the refrigerant gas leaks during the installation, ventilate the area immediately. • Do not turn off the power immediately after stopping operation. Always wait for at least five minutes before turning off the power. • Stop operation and close all window in storm or hurricane. If possible, remove the product from the window before the hurricane arrives.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 7 • Make sure that the drainpipe is installed properly to drain water. Arrange the drain hose to ensure smooth drainage. • Exercise caution when unpacking or installing the product. • Keep the product level during installation or removal. • Safely dispose of the packing materials. Packing materials, such as nails and other metal or wooden parts. • Installation work must be performed in accordance with the National Electric Code by qualified and authorized personnel only.
OPERATION OPERATION Before Use Notes for Operation • Adjust the direction of the airflow vertically to circulate indoor air. • Speed up the fan to cool or warm indoor air quickly, within a short period of time. • Turn off the appliance and periodically open windows for ventilation. The indoor air quality may deteriorate if the appliance is used for long periods. • Clean the air filter once every 2 weeks.
OPERATION 9 Product Overview 4way Cassette Type 2 a Product Display and Remote Control Receiver Displays the operating status and contains the receiver for the wireless remote. b Air Outlet Circulates air back into the room at the desired temperature. c Air Intake and Air Filter Takes in air from the room and reduces dust in the air.
OPERATION Display † The Clean Filter indicator lamp does not light up starting from the corresponding product manufacturing number (After Oct. 2021). Type 1 b Forced Operation Button Operates the product when the remote control can't be used. • Press the b button for about 2 seconds. The setting is Cooling mode, Power, 18 ℃. a Forced Operation Button Operates the product when the remote control can't be used. • Press the a button for about 2 seconds. The setting is Cooling mode, Power, 18 ℃.
OPERATION 11 Press and hold the Forced Operation button a for 6 seconds. 3 When the appliance beeps twice, release the Forced Operation button a. The product will beep twice and the blue lamp will blink 4 times. Installing the Remote Control Holder 1 Choose a suitable place where its safe and easy to reach. 2 Fix the firmly to the wall with the supplied screws. 3 Slide the remote controller inside the holder. Type 1 Type 2 NOTE NOTE • This feature may change depending on the model type.
OPERATION 3 Press the c or d button to change the time in 10-minute increments and decrements. 4 Press the Set/Clear button to set the current time. NOTE • The On Timer and Off Timer are available after setting the current time. Selecting Fahrenheit or Celsius Set the temperature display to show either Fahrenheit (℉) or Celsius (℃) units. 1 Turn the appliance on. 2 Press and hold the Func. (Function) button for about 5 seconds to change units between ℃ and ℉.
OPERATION 13 Wireless Remote Control Overview Wireless Remote Control Use the wireless remote control to operate the appliance more conveniently. ENGLISH † This feature is only available on some models.

Set/Clear Sets or cancels the special functions or timer Time(3 s) Press and hold the Set/Clear button for about 3 seconds to set the current time on the wireless remote control.
OPERATION Using Wireless Remote Control Icon Description Cooling Mode Cool air blows from the air outlets. Operating with the Wireless Remote Control Auto Mode The product adjusts the airflow automatically. Point the wireless remote control towards the signal receiver in front of the appliance to operate it. Dehumidification Mode This function removes moisture in indoor air. Type 1 Heating Mode Warm air blows from the air outlets.
OPERATION 17 Speed Wireless Remote Control Icon ENGLISH Natural High 3 Press the Jet Mode button. Medium Low Super Low NOTE • Jet Cooling Mode Strong cool air blows out for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the temperature is maintained at 64 ℉ (18 ℃) by default. - To change the temperature, press the a or b button to set the desired temperature. • Jet Heating Mode • The fan speed may be different according to the model.
OPERATION Timer Setting NOTE • Checking each vane number Set the appliance to turn on and off automatically at a desired time. Sleep Timer The air conditioner operates in Sleep mode and turns off automatically at the set time. 1 Press the Sleep button while the air conditioner is operating. • The icon below flashes at the bottom of the display screen. # ## ### #### First vane Second vane Third vane 2 Press the c or d button to set the desired time. 3 Press the Set/Clear button.
OPERATION 19 3 Press the Set/Clear button. • The air conditioner operates until the set time and then turns off automatically. ENGLISH 2 Press the c or d button to set the desired time. Special Functions Auto Clean (On Some Models) In Cooling and Dehumidification modes, moisture is generated inside the indoor unit. Use this function to reduce that moisture. 3 Press the Set/Clear button. • Turn the air conditioner off. It will turn on automatically at the set time. 1 Turn the appliance on.
OPERATION Energy Saving Cooling (On Some Models) This function adjusts the desired temperature during the cooling operation to enhance the comfort of the user and improve the energy saving performance. 1 Turn the appliance on. 2 Press the Func. (Function) button repeatedly to select the Energy Saving Cooling function. NOTE • If the accumulated operation time of the product exceeds 30 hours, the Smart Clean automatically starts when the indoor unit is turned off.
OPERATION 21 1 Press the Func. (Function) button repeatedly to select the Comfort Cooling function. Purify button, you can use air purification operation at the same time. Smart Air Purification 2 Press the Set/Clear button to set the function. • Dust sensor detects the indoor air contamination level, and if overall cleanliness is level Unhealthy or more, it automatically starts air purification operation. When overall cleanliness reaches level Good air purification operation stops.
OPERATION • Dust concentration may continuously change according to the change of the indoor environment. • Overall cleanliness color is displayed based on the highest contamination level among fine dust(PM10), ultra fine dust(PM2.5), and super ultra fine dust(PM1.0). • The dust concentration and level displayed on the product may differ from other measuring instruments or other products. • The dust concentration evaluation is carried out with our company’s standard test dust.
OPERATION 23 • The same standard as ultra fine dust is applied to super ultra fine dust’s dust concentration level. (LG standard) 4 • The shaking around the dust sensor may hinder the normal operation of the dust sensor, and the displayed concentration may be different from the actual dust concentration. • You can use it only in overall cleanliness function applied models. Air Quality Level Color Setting (On Some Models) 2 Press the Jet Mode and Reset button simultaneously.
SMART FUNCTIONS SMART FUNCTIONS LG ThinQ Application This feature is only available on models with the b or ThinQ logo. 3 Connect your smartphone to the wireless router. The LG ThinQ application allows you to communicate with the appliance using a smartphone. LG ThinQ Application Features Communicate with the appliance from a smartphone using the convenient smart features.

Use this feature to help you diagnose and solve problems with your appliance. NOTE • For reasons not attributable to LGE’s negligence, the service may not operate due to external factors such as, but not limited to, Wi-Fi unavailability, Wi-Fi disconnection, local app store policy, or application unavailability.
MAINTENANCE 27 MAINTENANCE ENGLISH Cleaning Cleaning Interval WARNING • Before cleaning or performing maintenance, disconnect the power supply and wait until the fan stops. • When you remove the air filter, do not touch the metal parts of the indoor unit. Doing so may cause an injury. Cleaning the Filter Type Air filter Deodorization filter (on some models) PM1.0 filter (on some models) Description Clean with a vacuum or hand wash. Dry for 3 hours in sunlight or under fluorescent light.
MAINTENANCE Cleaning the Air Filter NOTE • Do not bend the air filter, as it may break. • Assemble the air filter properly to prevent dust and other substances from entering the product. Type 1 1 Turn off the power to the appliance. 2 Press the fixing hooks on both sides and open the front grille. 3 6 Insert the air filter. 7 Press the fixing hooks on both sides and close the front grille. Remove the air filter.
MAINTENANCE 29 ENGLISH 3 4 5 Press the fixing hooks simultaneously and remove the air filter. Clean the air filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. 7 Hook the end hook of the front grille onto the product, then close the fixing hook. 8 Press the center of the left and right sides once. Dry the filter in the shade. Cleaning the Deodorization Filter and PM1.0 Filter (On Some Models) WARNING • Turn off the main power switch for safety.
MAINTENANCE CAUTION • Do not wash the photocatalytic Deodorization filter in water. • After cleaning the PM1.0 filter, the buzzer sounds 7 times if the water is not completely dry. Dry the filter thoroughly. • Drying the filter near a fire or in direct sunlight may cause damage to the filter. • Wear gloves during installation. NOTE • The quantity and type of filters provided by each model may differ. • The feature may be changed according to the type of model. 1 Turn off the power to the appliance.
MAINTENANCE 31 5 After assembling in reverse order, close the front grille. Filter Name Filter Description Deodorization filter • Dry for 3 hours in sunlight or under fluorescent light. • Washing the filter with water could damage or deform it. PM1.0 filter ENGLISH Filter Information 2 After opening the PM1.0 sensor cover b, remove the rubber cover c. 3 Wipe off the dust adhering to the lens with a cotton swab slightly moistened with water.
MAINTENANCE 3 Check that the ground wire is connected correctly. • The ground wire may be connected to the side of the indoor unit. NOTE • The dust sensor shown below does not require cleaning. Tips for Maintenance Before Long Periods of Disuse 1 Operate the air conditioner in the Fan mode for 2 to 3 hours. • This will dry out the internal mechanisms. 2 Turn off the breaker. CAUTION • Turn off the breaker when the air conditioner is not going to be used for a long period of time.
TROUBLESHOOTING 33 TROUBLESHOOTING Please check the following before you contact the service center. If the problem persists, contact your local service center. NOTE • Some functions may not be supported, depending on the model. Self-Diagnosis Function This appliance has a built-in Self-Diagnosis function. If an error occurs, the LED of the indoor unit will flash in 2-second intervals. If this occurs, contact your local dealer or service center. Operation Problem The appliance does not work normally.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem The appliance does not work. Possible Cause & Solution A power failure has occurred. • Turn off the appliance when a power failure occurs. • When the power is restored, wait 3 minutes, and then turn on the appliance. The voltage is too high or too low. • Check if the circuit breaker has tripped. The appliance was turned off automatically at a preset time. • Turn the appliance on. The battery orientation in the wireless remote control is incorrect.
TROUBLESHOOTING 35 Performance Problem Possible Cause & Solution The Auto Clean function is being operated. The air outlet on the indoor unit is discharging mist. The cooled air from the appliance makes mist. Water leaks from the outdoor unit. In the heating operations, condensed water drops from the heat exchanger. There is noise or vibration. A clicking sound can be heard when the appliance starts or stops due to movement of the reversing valve.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Possible Cause & Solution Trouble connecting appliance and smartphone to Wi-Fi network During Wi-Fi setup, the application is requesting a password to connect to the product (on certain phones). • Locate the network name which starts with "LG" under Settings > Networks. Note the last part of the network name. - If the network name looks like LGE_Appliance_XX-XX-XX, enter lge12345. - If the network name looks like LGE_Appliance_XXXX, enter XXXX twice as your password.
