Connecting Spekaer Installation 3. You can adjust angle of speaker. A. Stand type You can adjust angle of speaker. 4. Fix the stand to the speaker by rotating the screw. 2 Connecting yy Separates stand Separate the stand from the speaker as shown below. 5. Drive 1 screw in the wall for the speaker and then hook the speaker over there. B. Wall type (Mounting the speakers to a wall) 1. Separate the stand from the speaker. 2. Attach the stand to the speaker as shown below.
Connecting 13 Assembling the speaker 2. Draw the speaker cord through the hole on the base. Before connecting the speakers, assemble the speakers. Please check the items for assembling the speakers. Preparation 2 Connecting Pole Base Screw Speaker Speaker cables 1. Attach the pole to the base, then secure the connection with a supplied screw. ,,Note Make sure speaker cable unfolded or in straight condition before insert it to the hole.
Connecting 3. Attach the speakers to the speaker stands by rotating the screws. 4. Connect the speaker wire to the terminal on the speaker. Make sure the wire marked black goes in to the terminal marked “-”(minus) and the other wire goes in to the terminal marked “+”(plus). 2 Connecting ,,Note Do not catch the speaker cord between speaker and the pole. >>Caution Be careful that the speaker does not fall down.

Insert the wire and release the finger pad.
Connecting Positioning the system The following illustration shows an example of positioning the system. Note that the illustrations in these instructions differ from the actual unit for explanation purposes. 2 For the best possible surround sound, all the speakers other than the subwoofer should be placed at the same distance from the listening position ( ). Connecting 17 Connections to Your TV Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your existing equipment. ,,Note yy Depending on your TV and other equipment you wish to connect, there are various ways you could connect the player. Use only one of the connections described in this manual. HDMI Out Connection If you have a HDMI TV or monitor, you can connect it to this unit using a HDMI cable (Type A, High Speed HDMI™ Cable).
Connecting ,,Note yy If a connected HDMI device does not accept the audio output of the unit, the HDMI device’s audio sound may be distorted or may not output. yy When you connect a HDMI or DVI compatible device make sure of the following: 2 Connecting - Try switching off the HDMI/DVI device and this unit. Next, switch on the HDMI/DVI device and leave it for around 30 seconds, then switch on this unit. - The connected device’s video input is set correctly for this unit.
Connecting 19 Video Connection Resolution Setting Connect the VIDEO OUT jack on the unit to the video in jack on the TV using a video cable. The unit provides several output resolutions for HDMI OUT. You can change the resolution using [Setup] menu. You can hear the sound through the system’s speakers. 1. Press n. 2. Use A/D to select the [Setup] and press b ENTER. Connecting OPTICAL IN connection Antenna Connection Connect an optical output of Unit (or Digital Device etc) to the OPTICAL IN connector. Connect the supplied FM antenna for listening to the radio. System Setting 23 Adjust the setup settings By using the Setup menu, you can make various adjustments to items such as picture and sound. To display and exit the Setup menu 1. Press n. Displays the [Home Menu]. You can also set a language for the subtitles and the Setup menu, among other things. For details on each Setup menu item, see pages 23 to 26. System Setting Language Resolution Menu Language Sets the output resolution of HDMI video signal. Refer to “Resolution Setting” for details about the resolution (Refer to the page 19). Select a language for the Setup menu and on screen display. Disc Audio / Disc Subtitle / Disc Menu Select the language you prefer for the audio track (disc audio), subtitles, and the disc menu. [Original] Refers to the original language in which the disc was recorded.
System Setting 25 Audio DRC (Dynamic Range Control) 5.1 Speaker Setup Make the sound clear when the volume is turned down (Dolby Digital only). Set to [On] for this effect. Make the following settings for the built-in 5.1 channel surround decoder. Vocal 1. Select [5.1 Speaker Setup] on the [Audio] menu. Select [On] to mix karaoke channels into normal stereo. 2. Press b ENTER. The [5.1 SPEAKER] appears. This function is effective for multi-channel karaoke DVDs only. HD AV Sync 5.
System Setting Lock (Parental Control) Password You can enter or change password. Initial Setting the Area Code: When you use this unit for the first time, you have to set the Area Code. 1. Select the [Lock] menu and then press D. 2. Press D. To access the [Lock] options, you must input the password you have created. Input a password and press b ENTER. Enter it again and press b ENTER to verify. If you make a mistake before pressing b ENTER, press CLEAR. 3 3.
Operating 27 Using the Home Menu 1. Press n. Displays the [Home Menu]. To Stop Playback Pause Frame-byFrame playback 2. Select an option by using AD. 3. Press b ENTER then selected option menu. [Music] – Displays [Music] menu. [Movie] – Start video media’s playback or displays the [Movie] menu. [Photo] – Displays [Photo] menu. Skipping to the next/ previous chapter/ track/ file [Setup] – Displays the [Setup] menu.
Operating Other Operations Displaying Disc Information onscreen You can display various information about the disc loaded on-screen. r The 1.5 speed allows you to watch the pictures and listen to the sound quicker than playing at a normal speed. 1. During playback, press d MONO/STEREO to play at 1.5 times speed. “dX1.5” appears on the screen. 1. Press m INFO/DISPLAY to show various playback information. The displayed items differ depending on the disc type or playing status. 2.

Operating 31 Sleep Timer Setting Last Scene Memory Press SLEEP one or more times to select delay time between 10 and 180 minutes, after the unit will turn off. r To check the remaining time, press SLEEP. To cancel the sleep function, press SLEEP repeatedly until “SLEEP 10” appears, and then press SLEEP once again while “SLEEP 10” is displayed. Power Resume - Optional ,,Note You can check the remaining time before the Unit turns off. Press SLEEP The remaining time appears in the display window.
Operating Adjust the speaker level settings Auto power down You can adjust the sound level of each speaker. This unit will be off itself to save electric consumption in the case main unit is not connected to external device and is not used for 20 minutes. Operating 33 Radio Operations Be sure that FM antenna is connected. (Refer to the page 22.) Listening to the radio 1. Press P FUNCTION until FM appears in the display window. The last received station is tuned in. 2. Press and hold TUNING (-/+) for about two seconds until the frequency indication starts to change, then release. Scanning stops when the unit tunes in a station. Deleting all the saved stations 1. Press and hold CLEAR for two seconds. “ERASEALL” will flash up on the unit display. 2.
Operating Sound adjustment Setting the USER EQ Setting the surround mode 1. Use SOUND EFFECT to select the USER EQ then press b ENTER. This system has a number of pre-set surround sound fields. You can select a desired sound mode by using SOUND EFFECT. You can change the SOUND EFFECT using AD arrow key while the sound effect information is displayed on. The displayed items for the equalizer maybe different depending on sound sources and effects.
Operating 35 Advanced Operations Recording to USB You can record music or sound souce to USB device by connecting in to the port on the unit. 1. Connect the USB device to the unit. 2. Select a mode in which you want to record. Playback a sound source first. 3. Start the recording by pressing X REC. 4. To stop recording, press Z. [All tracks/ files recording] Record to USB in stop or play mode. [Program list recording] After marking desired file(s) and you can record it to USB (Refer to the page 29).
Operating Using a Bluetooth wireless technology About Bluetooth Bluetooth is wireless communication technology for short range connection. The sound may be interrupted when the connection interfered by the other electronic wave or you connect the Bluetooth in the other rooms. Connecting individual devices under Bluetooth® wireless technology does not incur any charges.
Operating 37 ,,Note yy The sound may be interrupted when the connection interfered by the other electronic wave. yy You cannot control the Bluetooth device with this unit. yy Pairing is limited one Bluetooth device per one unit and multi-pairing is not supported. yy Depending on the type of the device, you may not be able to use the Bluetooth function. yy You can enjoy wireless system using phone, MP3, Notebook, headset, etc.. yy When not connected the Bluetooth, “BT READY” appears on the display window.
Operating Auto function change AUTO POWER On This unit recognizes input signals such as Bluetooth and then changes suitable function automatically. This unit automatically turns on by an input source : Bluetooth. When you try to connect Bluetooth device When you turn on your external device connected to this unit, this unit recognizes the input signal and select the suitable function. You can hear the sound from your device.
Troubleshooting 39 Troubleshooting PROBLEM The unit does not work properly. CORRECTION yy Turn off the power of this unit and the connected external device (TV, Woofer, DVD-player, Amplifier, etc.) and turn it on again. yy Disconnect the power cord of this unit and the connected external device (TV, Woofer, DVD-player, Amplifier, etc.) and then try connecting again. No power yy Plug the power cord into the wall outlet securely.
Appendix Maintenance Handling the Unit When shipping the unit Please save the original shipping carton and packing materials. If you need to ship the unit, for maximum protection, re-pack the unit as it was originally packed at the factory. Keeping the exterior surfaces clean yy Do not use volatile liquids such as insecticide spray near the unit. yy Wiping with strong pressure may damage the surface. yy Do not leave rubber or plastic products in contact with the unit for a long period of time.
