Prior to Operation Preparing for Operation 1. Contact an installation specialist for installation. 2. Plug in the power plug properly. 3. Use a dedicated circuit. 4. Do not use an extension cord. 5. Do not start/stop operation by plugging/ unplugging the power cord. 6. If the cord/plug is damaged, replace it with only an authorized replacement part. Usage 1. Being exposed to direct airflow for a long time may be hazardous to your health.

Electrical Safety WARNING • This appliance must be properly grounded. To minimize the risk of electric shock, you must always plug into a grounded outlet. • Do not cut or remove the grounding. • Attaching the adapter ground terminal to the wall receptacle cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the cover screw is metal and not insulated, and the wall receptacle is grounded through the house wiring.
Using the remote control
Using the remote control You can operate the air conditioner more conveniently with the remote control. You will find the buttons for the additional functions under the cover of the remote control. BASIC FUNCTIONS Cooling your room POWER MODE Following is the display on the display screen. POWER MODE (Heating operation / Heat Pump model only) POWER MODE Following is the display on the display screen. In this mode indoor unit fan and outdoor unit will be OFF when set temperature is achieved.
Selectable Air Swing (Horizontal) (Optional) POWER MODE Following will be displayed on the display screen. To adjust the direction of the air flow horizontally. Open the remote control cover while the air conditioner is in operation. Press the 2ndF Button. Press the HORIZONTAL VANE CONTROL BUTTON. Each time the button is pressed, the air flow direction is changed in the direction of the arrow.
Check if Press 2 ndF button and check if icon is on. Press to set the desired ON time. ON–TIMER – The icon below is displayed on the display screen. Press icon is off. Press the TIMER SET/CANCEL BUTTON aiming the remote controller at the signal receiver. (The timer lamp on the air conditioner and the display will go off.) until the desired time is set. –TIMER– Press TIMER SET/CANCEL BUTTON to finish. Press POWER to turn on the power. ADVANCED FUNCTIONS Air Purification Mode (Optional) LG Air conditioner come with a variety of filters like Anti-Bacteria filter, Tripple Filter, Virus & Allergy safe filter, Plasma Filter, which enable you to use it as a Built-in Air purifier (Even when you are not using it for cooling, hence minimal electricity consumption). MAINTENANCE Outdoor Unit (Rear) The heat exchanger coils and panel vents of the outdoor unit should be checked regularly. If clogged with dirt or soot, the heat exchanger and panel vents may be professionally steam cleaned. Air intake vents (Side) Piping Drain Hose NOTICE Dirty or clogged coils will reduce the operating efficiency of the system and cause higher operating costs.

INSTALLATION 19 AIR PURGING Soap water method (1) Remove the caps from the 2-way and 3-way valves. (2) Remove the service-port cap from the 3-way valves. (3) To open the 2-way valve turn the valve stem counterclockwise approximately 90°, wait for about 2~3 sec, and close it. (4) Apply a soap water or a liquid neutral detergent on the indoor unit connection or outdoor unit connections by a soft brush to check for leakage of the connecting points of the piping.
18 INSTALLATION AIR PURGING Air purging Air and moisture remaining in the refrigerant system have undesirable effects as indicated below. Pressure in the system rises. Operating current rises. Cooling(or heating) efficiency drops. Moisture in the refrigerant circuit may freeze and block capillary tubing. Water may lead to corrosion of parts in the refrigeration system.
INSTALLATION 17 CONNECTING THE CABLE BETWEEN INDOOR & OUTDOOR UNIT Checking the drainage To remove the front panel from the indoor A unit, remove the front panel from the indoor unit cabinet. Set the air direction louvers up-and-down to the position(horizontally) by hand. Remove the securing screws that retain the front panel. Pull the lower left and right sides of the grille toward you and lift it off.

INSTALLATION 15 CONNECTING THE CABLE BETWEEN INDOOR & OUTDOOR UNIT Connect the cable from Indoor to outdoor unit. CAUTION The power cord connected to the indoor unit should be compiled with the following specifications Connect the cable to the indoor unit by connecting the wires to the terminals on the control board individually according to the outdoor unit connection. 14 INSTALLATION FLARING WORK AND CONNECTION OF PIPING Bundle the piping and drain hose together by wrapping them with cloth tape over the range within which they fit into the rear piping housing section. INSTALLATION 11 FLARING WORK AND CONNECTION OF PIPING Connection of pipingIndoor Preparing the indoor unit's piping and drain hose for installation through the wall. Remove the plastic tubing retainer (see illustration below) and pull the tubing and drain hose away from chassis. Replace the plastic tubing holder in the original position. C Tape the tubing, drain hose and the connecting cable. Be sure that the drain hose is located at the lowest side of the bundle.
10 INSTALLATION FLARING WORK AND CONNECTION OF PIPING Flaring work Main cause for gas leakage is due to defect in flaring work. Carry out correct flaring work in the following procedure. INSTALLATION 9 INSTALLATION OF INDOOR & OUTDOOR UNIT How to fix installation plate The wall you select should be strong and solid enough to prevent vibration. A Mount the installation plate on the wall with four type A screws. If mounting the unit on a concrete wall, use anchor bolts. Mount the installation plate horizontally by aligning the centerline using a level. Drill a hole in the wall Drill the piping hole with a ø70mm hole core drill.
8 INSTALLATION INSTALLATION OF INDOOR & OUTDOOR UNIT Read completely, then follow step by step. Select the best location A Indoor Unit Do not have any heat or steam near the unit. Select a place where there are no obstacles in front of the unit. Make sure that condensation drainage can be conveniently routed away. Do not install near a doorway. Ensure that the space around the left and right of the unit is more than 5cm.
