INSTALLATION Choosing the Proper Location Install the washer on a solid floor that is strong and rigid enough to support the weight of the washer, even when fully loaded, without flexing or bouncing. If the floor has too much flex, you may need to reinforce it to make it more rigid. If the floor is not solid, it may cause severe vibration and noise. NOTE • Before installing the washer, make sure the floor is clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, water and oil so the washer feet cannot slide easily.
INSTALLATION 13 After removing the carton and shipping material, lift the washer off the foam base. Make sure the plastic tub support comes off with the base and is not stuck to the bottom of the washer. If you must lay the washer down to remove the base packaging materials, always protect the side of the washer and lay it carefully on its side. Do not lay the washer on its front or back. INSTALLATION Connecting the Water Lines 1 Check the fittings and seals. Inspect the threaded fitting on each hose and make sure there is a rubber seal in place in both ends of each hose to prevent leaking. Attach the cold water line to the cold water inlet on the back of the washer. Tighten the fittings securely.
INSTALLATION 15 Connecting the Drain Hose NOTE Option 2: Laundry Tub 1 Connect the elbow bracket within 4 inches (10 cm) of the end of the drain hose. If the drain hose is extended more than 4 inches (10 cm) beyond the end of the elbow bracket, mold or microorganisms could spread to the inside of the washer. • The drain must be installed in accordance with any applicable local codes and regulations. • Make sure that the drain hose is not stretched, pinched, crushed, or kinked.
INSTALLATION Leveling the Washer The drum of your new washer spins at very high speeds. To minimize vibration, noise, and unwanted movement, the floor must be a level, solid surface. The slope beneath the washer should not exceed 1 inch, and all four leveling feet must rest firmly on the floor. 4 Recheck the washer’s levelness. Push or rock the top edges of the washer gently to make sure the washer does not rock. If the washer rocks, repeat steps 1-3.
INSTALLATION 17 Connecting to the Power Supply WARNING • Do not use a worn or damaged power cord or power plug. Replace or repair it immediately. Failure to do so may result in death, fire, electric shock, or malfunction. • Do not modify the power cord and plug provided with the appliance. Take care not to damage it when installing or moving the washer. Failure to do so may result in death, fire, electric shock, or malfunction. • Make sure that the washer is grounded.

( ( ) 1 Sort Laundry and Load the Washer Sort laundry by fabric type, soil level, color and load size, as needed. Open the door and load items into the washer. 2 Cleaning Products Add the proper amount of HE (High-Efficiency) detergent and liquid fabric softener to the Auto Dispense reservoir or the manual dispenser.
OPERATION 19 Sorting Laundry • The washer can be fully loaded, but the drum should not be tightly packed with items. The door of the washer should close easily. • Use the Bulky/Large cycle for buoyant or nonabsorbent items such as pillows or comforters. Failure to follow this caution can result in leakage. • If possible, do not wash any water-resistant items. If you must, please select the Bulky/Large cycle.
OPERATION Loading the Washer Adding Cleaning Products • Check and empty pockets. Paper clips, coins, matches, etc. can damage clothing and the washer. Using the Auto Dispense Function • Close zippers and hooks, and tie drawstrings to prevent snagging or tangling of clothes. • Pretreat heavily stained areas for best results. • Combine large and small items in a load. Load large items first. Large items should not be more than half of total load.
OPERATION 21 4 Pour the detergent and softener into their respective reservoirs. NOTE - Fill to the Max line. Softener Detergent ( ( ) ) Push After filling, insert and turn the caps to the right until tightly closed. 5 • Before using the appliance, make sure there is detergent in the Auto Dispense reservoir. • A full detergent reservoir will last for about 18 standard cycles, with half a load of laundry in the drum. • The default settings are configured to automatically dispense 2.
OPERATION Dispensing Detergent Manually CAUTION • Do not place or store laundry products, such as detergent, bleach, or liquid fabric softener, on top of the washer or dryer. Wipe up any spills immediately. These products can damage the machine's finish and controls. • Remove the Auto Dispense tray only when refilling or replacing detergent or softener. • Use only liquid HE detergents in the Auto Dispense tray. • Do not pour any powdered cleaning products into the Auto Dispense reservoirs.
OPERATION 23 Control Panel ENGLISH Control Panel Features 1 Cycle Category The dots indicate the current category screen. Swipe the display left or right to show Everyday Cycles, Special Cycles, Dry Cycles(Optional), Download Cycles, and My Pattern. Use My Pattern for cycles you use frequently. If you run the same cycle more than three times, it will be registered under My Pattern. Cycle categories may differ on some models. 2 Start/Pause Button Press this button to start the selected cycle.
OPERATION Wash Cycles Wash cycles are designed for the best wash performance for each type of load. Select the cycle that best matches the load contents for maximum wash performance and fabric care. For best results, follow the fabric care labels on your garments. See the Sorting Laundry section for a guide to the symbols used on fabric care labels. Swipe through the cycle category screens and touch a cycle icon to select the desired cycle.
OPERATION 25 Choosing by Wash Cycle Use the Speed Wash cycle to quickly wash lightly soiled clothing and small loads. For high wash and rinse efficiency, wash small loads of 2-3 lightlysoiled garments (less than 3 lb. (1.36 kg)). NOTE: Use very little detergent in this cycle. For additional rinsing, add an extra rinse in the Rinse option screen. Convenience Rinse+Spin Select this option to rinse and spin a load separately from a regular cycle.

OPERATION 29 Cycle Modifier Buttons When you select a cycle, washing starts with the default settings. If needed, modify the cycle as shown below. 1 : Soil 2 : Rinse 3 : Temp. 4 : Spin 5 : Add Option 6 : Add Drying (Optional) 1 Press the Power button. 2 Select a washing cycle. 3 Select the options you want to change. 4 Change the options and press the OK button. 5 Press the Start/Pause button. 1 Soil Adjusting the soil level setting will change the cycle times and/or wash actions.
OPERATION 5 Add Option Option settings may be different depending on the cycle. Turbo Wash Adding the Turbo Wash™ option reduces the cycle time while still providing similar wash performance to the same cycle without Turbo Wash™. NOTE • The Turbo Wash™ option cannot be used with all cycles. • Turbo Wash™ defaults to on for Normal, Heavy Duty and Perm.Press wash cycles. • The Turbo Wash™ option is not deactivated some cycle which are automatically selected in the beginning.

OPERATION Special Cycles/Features After selecting a cycle, press the buttons to select additional features for your load. Delay Wash Once you have selected the cycle and other settings, press this button to delay the start of the wash cycle. Each press of the button increases the delay time by 1 hour, for up to 24 hours. Once the desired delay time is set, press the Start/Pause button to start the delay time.
OPERATION 33 Drying Tips • Cold water tap must be left on during drying cycles. • Do not tumble dry woolen articles. Pull them to their original shape and dry them flat. Woven and Loopknit Materials • Some woven and loopknit materials may shrink, by varying amounts, depending on their quality. • This washing machine’s automatic process from washing to drying can be selected easily. • Always stretch these materials out immediately after drying.
OPERATION Settings Remote Start Swipe down the display to open the Settings screen. Touch More Settings to reveal the entire Settings menu. Use a smart phone to control the appliance remotely or check to see how much time is left in the cycle. X NOTE • You must first connect to a gateway and register the appliance in order to use the Remote Start function. See the Smart Functions section for more details.
OPERATION 35 Sound Use this button to setup and control the Auto Dispense function. Use this option to turn on or off the sound when a button is pressed. • When the Refill Alarm is turned on, it sends a message when the detergent or softener need refilling. Brightness • The default settings are configured to automatically dispense 2.4 oz (70 ml) of detergent and 1 oz (30 ml) of softener for 8-12 lb (4 - 6 kg) of normally soiled laundry.
OPERATION Washer Pairing (Optional) Select this to (un)pair the Main Washer and the Mini Washer. • This option is available when the Main Washer is used with the Mini Washer. 1 Press the Power button. 2 Swipe the display down to see the Settings screen and select More Setting. Select Washer Pairing from the Settings menu. NOTE • If pairing fails, follow these steps: 1 Make sure the Mini Washer is plugged in.
OPERATION 37 Switching Between Main and Mini Washer X Select this to delete all the stored data and reset to the default settings. 1 Press the Power button. 2 Swipe down on the display to open the Settings screen and select More Settings. Select Factory Data Reset from the Settings menu. 3 Press Reset. 4 Press the Yes button. Main NOTE • This feature is available only when the Mini Washer is connected.
OPERATION Download Cycles Downloading Cycles Directly This feature allows you to download new and specialized cycles that are not included in the appliance's standard cycles. 1 Press the Power button. 2 Swipe left on the display to get to the Download Cycles screen and press Edit. The appliance must be connected to the internet through a home Wi-Fi network to download cycles. • You may need to delete one of the existing cycles to make room for a new downloaded cycle.
SMART FUNCTIONS 39 SMART FUNCTIONS The LG ThinQ application allows you to communicate with the appliance using a smartphone. Installing LG ThinQ Application Search for the LG ThinQ application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on a smart phone. Follow instructions to download and install the application. LG ThinQ Application Features Download Cycle Set or download any preferred cycle and operate by remote control.

MAINTENANCE 43 Cleaner Instructions Tub cleaner Liquid chlorine bleach Powdered cleaner Place directly into washer drum. Cleaning tablets In areas with hard water, mineral scale can form on internal components of the washer. Periodically clean the mineral buildup on the internal components to extend the lifespan of the washer. Use of a water softener is recommended in areas with hard water. • Use a descaler to remove visible mineral buildup on the washer drum.
MAINTENANCE Cleaning the Door Seal Clean the door seal frequently (once a week) to prevent build-up of dirt. 1 Wear rubber gloves and protective goggles. 2 Dilute 3/4 cup (177 ml) of liquid chlorine bleach in 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water. 3 Wipe around the door seal (A). Soak a sponge or a soft cloth in this diluted solution and wipe all around the door seal (A). Cleaning the Water Inlet Filters If the washer does not fill properly, an error message will show on the display.
MAINTENANCE 45 Cleaning the Drain Pump Filter 6 Close the lower cover. ENGLISH The washer fails to drain if the drain pump filter is clogged. Periodically clean the drain filter to prevent clogging with foreign objects. WARNING • Opening the drain filter will result in water overflowing if there is water in the washer drum. Use a bucket if the drum is not completely drained before you open the drain filter.
MAINTENANCE Cleaning Auto Dispense Tray 6 Assemble the check valves by inserting them and turning them clockwise. 7 Fill the detergent reservoir with liquid HE detergent and the softener reservoir with liquid fabric softener. Insert the caps on the reservoirs and turn clockwise until tight. 8 Insert the Auto Dispense tray back in the machine until it clicks. Close the lower cover. Clean the Auto Dispense tray before refilling it or if detergent or softener have hardened with lack of use.
MAINTENANCE 47 Care in Cold Climates Storing the Washer 1 2 Turn off the water supply. Disconnect hoses from water supply and drain water from hoses. 3 Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. 4 Add 1 gallon of nontoxic recreational vehicle (RV) antifreeze to the empty drum and close the door. Never use automotive antifreeze. 5 Press the Power button, then select Spin. 6 Press the Start/Pause button to start the drain pump.
TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why does my washer make loud banging noises while it is filling with water? A: This is actually a problem with the plumbing in your home. When the water valve in the washer shuts off, it can cause pipes in your home to move, resulting in a loud banging noise. This effect, called water hammer, can be reduced by installing an item called a water hammer arrestor.

TROUBLESHOOTING 51 Problem Possible Cause Incomplete or no dispensing of detergent Washer will not operate Too much detergent used. Make sure that detergent and additives are put into the correct Auto Dispense reservoirs. Make sure that the Auto Dispense tray is properly installed before the start of the cycle. If dispensing manually, make sure that the suggested amount of detergent is used per the manufacturer’s recommendations.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Washer not filling properly Water level is too low/ No water is visible in the drum Oversudsing Buttons do not function properly A shortage alert appears even after you filled the dispensers for the detergent and softener. Drying performance is poor. Possible Cause Solutions Filter clogged. Make sure the inlet filters on the fill valves are not clogged. Refer to the filter cleaning instructions. Inlet hoses may be kinked.
TROUBLESHOOTING 53 Performance Problem Staining Washer not unloaded promptly. Always remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle is complete. Washer overloaded. The washer can be fully loaded, but the drum should not be tightly packed with items. The door of the washer should close easily. Hot and cold water inlet hoses are reversed. Hot water rinse can set wrinkles in garments. Check the inlet hose connections. Clothes are over-dried. Make sure select suitable drying cycle.
TROUBLESHOOTING Error Codes Error Code Washer fills with water slowly or not at all, or [IE] [UE] Possible Cause Solutions Water supply faucets are not fully open. Make sure that the water faucets are fully open. Water line hoses are kinked, pinched, or crushed. Make sure that the hoses are not kinked or pinched. Be careful when moving the washer during cleaning and maintenance. Water inlet filters are clogged. Clean the inlet filters. See Maintenance in the Care and Cleaning section.
TROUBLESHOOTING 55 Error Code The tub does not rotate or Possible Cause [dE4] Door sensor has malfunctioned. Close and secure the door. If the message keeps appearing, unplug the power cord and call for service. Drain hose is kinked, pinched, or clogged Make sure the drain hose is free of clogs, inks, etc., and is not pinched behind or under the washer. [OE] Drain discharge is more than 96 inches (2.4 m) above bottom of washer. Use the drain 96 inches (2.4 m) above the bottom of the washer.

12 INSTALACIÓN Eligiendo la ubicación adecuada Instale la lavadora en un piso sólido que sea lo suficientemente fuerte y rígido para soportar su peso, aún cuando esta esté completamente llena, sin que este se flexione. Si el piso es muy flexible, puede que necesite reforzarlo para hacerlo más rígido. Si el piso no es sólido podría causar severas vibraciones y sonidos.
INSTALACIÓN 13 Desempacando y Removiendo los Tornillos de Transporte 1 Levante la lavadora de la base de espuma. Luego de remover la caja de cartón y el material de embalaje, levante la lavadora de la base de espuma. Asegúrese de que el soporte plástico salga con la base y que no se atore en el fondo de la lavadora. Espuma de soporte de tina 2 Base de cartón Remueva los ensamblajes de tornillos.
14 INSTALACIÓN Conectando la línea de agua 1 Revise los conectores y sellos. Para minimizar el ruido, la vibración, y los movimientos no deseados, la lavadora debe ser instalada en una superficie sólida. 20 OPERACIÓN Cargando la Lavadora Agregando Productos de Limpieza ••Revise y vacíe los bolsillos. Clips, monedas, cerillos, etc., podrían dañar las prendas y la lavadora. ••Cierre las cremalleras y los ganchos, y amarre los cordones para prevenir que estos se enganchen o enreden en otras prendas. ••Realice un pretaratamiento de las áreas más sucias para mejores resultados. ••Combine prendas grandes y pequeñas en una carga. Cargue las prendas grandes primero.
OPERACIÓN 21 4 Vierta el detergente y el suavizante en sus respectivos depósitos. - El compartimiento de dispensación automática cuenta con dos depósitos. Coloque el líquido detergente en el depósito izquierdo ( ) y el suavizante de telas ( ) en el depósito derecho. - Llene hasta la línea de máximo. ( ( ) ) Push 5 Luego de llenar, inserte y gire las tapas hacia la derecha hasta que quede bien cerrado.
22 OPERACIÓN Dispensación Manual del Detergente PRECAUCIÓN ••No coloque ni almacene productos de lavandería, tales como detergente, blanqueador o suavizante líquido de telas en la parte superior de la lavadora o secadora. Limpie cualquier derrame inmediatamente. Estos productos pueden dañar el acabado y los controles de la máquina. ••Retire el compartimiento de dispensación automática solo cuando vuelva a llenar o reemplace el detergente o el suavizante.
OPERACIÓN 23 Panel de Control ESPAÑOL Características del Panel de Control 1 Categoría de Ciclo Los puntos indican la pantalla de categoría actual. Deslice la pantalla hacia la izquierda o la derecha para mostrar Programas cotidianos, Programas especiales, Programas de secado(Opcional), Descargar Programas y Mi Patrón. Utilice Mi Patrón para ciclos que utilice a menudo. Si utiliza el mismo ciclo más de tres veces, quedará registrado en Mi Patrón.
24 OPERACIÓN Ciclos de Lavado Los ciclos de lavado están diseñados para alcanzar el desempeño óptimo en lavado para cada tipo de carga. Seleccione el ciclo que mejor se adapte al contenido de la carga para obtener el máximo rendimiento de lavado y el cuidado de la tela. Consulte las etiquetas de cuidado de las prendas para obtener los mejores resultados. OPERACIÓN 29 Botones Modificadores del Ciclo Cuando selecciona un ciclo, el lavado comienza con los ajustes predeterminados. Si es necesario, modifique el ciclo como se muestra debajo. Temp. selecciona la combinación de temperaturas de lavado y enjuague para el ciclo seleccionado. Toque el botón Temp. para abrir la pantalla del modificador y cambiar la configuración de temperatura predeterminada.Enjuagues fríos utilizan menos energía.

32 OPERACIÓN Ciclos Especiales/ Características Luego de haber seleccionado el ciclo, presione los botones para seleccionar características adicionales para su carga. Retrasar lavado Una vez ha seleccionado el ciclo y otros ajustes, presione este botón para retrasar el inicio del ciclo de lavado. Cada vez que presione el botón retrasará el inicio 1 hora, hasta llegar a un máximo de 24 horas. Una vez el tiempo de retraso se ha fijado, presione el botón Inicio/Pausa para iniciar el conteo.
OPERACIÓN 33 Sugerencias de Secado Utilice los ciclos de secado del sensor para secar la mayoría de las cargas. Los sensores electrónicos miden la temperatura del escape para aumentar o disminuir las temperaturas de secado y así obtener un tiempo de reacción más rápido y un control más estricto de la temperatura. ••Los procesos automáticos de esta lavadora, de lavado a secado, se pueden seleccionar fácilmente.

44 MANTENIMIENTO Limpiando el Sello de la Puerta Limpiando los Filtros de Entrada de Agua Limpie el sello de la puerta frecuentemente (una vez a la semana) para prevenir la acumulación de polvo. Si la lavadora no se llena apropiadamente, un mensaje de error se mostrará en la pantalla. Las pantallas de los filtros de la válvula de entrada podrían estar obstruidas por escamas de agua dura, sedimentos en el suministro de agua, u otros escombros. 1 Utilice guantes de goma y lentes protectores.
MANTENIMIENTO 45 Limpiando el Filtro de la Bomba de Drenaje 6 Cierre la cubierta inferior. La lavadora falla al drenar si el filtro de la bomba de drenaje está obstruido. Limpie periódicamente el filtro de drenaje para prevenir que este se obstruya con objetos extraños. ••Si hay agua en el tambor de la lavadora, abrir el filtro de drenaje resultará en el desbordamiento de esta. Utilice un balde si el tambor no ha drenado completamente antes de que abra el filtro de drenaje.
46 MANTENIMIENTO Limpiando el Compartimiento de Dispensación Automática Limpie el compartimiento de dispensación automática previo a rellenarlo o si el detergente o el suavizante se ha endurecido debido a la falta de uso. 1 Presione el círculo para abrir la cubierta inferior, como se ve más abajo. 2 Presione la parte superior de dispensación automática para deslizarlo hacia afuera y utilice el agarrador para removerlo. 3 Gire los tapones de reserva hacia la izquierda para removerlos.
MANTENIMIENTO 47 Cuidado en Climas Fríos Almacenando la Lavadora Si la lavadora no se utilizará por un largo período de tiempo y está en un área que puede estar expuesta a temperaturas bajo cero, siga los siguientes pasos para protegerla de cualquier daño. 1 Cierre los grifos conectados a las líneas de agua. 2 Cierre el suministro de agua. 3 Desconecte las mangueras del suministro de agua y drene el agua de ellas.
48 RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS Preguntas Frecuentes P: Por qué mi lavadora hace ruidos fuertes mientras se está llenando de agua? R: Esto es un problema con la fontanería de su hogar. Puede que las pipas en su hogar se muevan cuando la válvula en la lavadora se apaga, resultando en ruidos fuertes. Este efecto, llamado golpe de ariete, puede reducirse al instalar un artículo llamado arrestador de golpe de ariete.
RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS 49 Antes de Llamar a Servicio La lavadora está equipada con un sistema automático de detección de errores para detectar y diagnosticar problemas en una etapa temprana. Revise que no hayan fugas, rajaduras o fracturas en las mangueras. Las pipas del drenaje del hogar están obstruidas. La lavadora bombea agua muy rápidamente. Revise si el agua se regresa de la pipa de drenaje durante dicho proceso.
RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS 51 Problema Posible Causa Compartimientos de detergente obstruidos por llenado incorrecto. La lavadorá no opera Mucho detergente utilizado. Asegúrese de que el detergente y los aditivos se pongan en los depósitos correctos del Dispensador Automático.
