Getting Started Installing the sound bar You can hear the sound by connecting the unit to the other device : TV, Blu-ray disc player, DVD player, etc. Mounting the main unit on a wall You can mount the main unit on a wall. You can place the wireless subwoofer anywhere in your room. But it is better to place the subwoofer near the main unit. Turn it slightly toward the center of the room to reduce the wall reflections.
Getting Started 1. Match the TV’s BOTTOM EDGE of Wall bracket install guide with the bottom of TV and attach to the position. 5. Put the unit on the brackets to match screw holes on the bottom of the unit. 1 Getting Started 6. Fix the unit with the screws firmly. 2. When you mount it on a wall (concrete), use the wall plugs. You should drill some holes. A guide sheet (Wall bracket install guide) is supplied to drill. Use the sheet to check the point to drill.
Getting Started 11 Organizing cables You can organize the cable with cable ties. Wireless subwoofer connection 1. Hold the cables together with cable ties as shown below. LED indicator of wireless subwoofer Connecting the AC Adapter Connect the sound bar to the power supply with the supplied AC adapter. 1. Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC adapter. 2. Connect the AC adapter cable to DC IN adapter input. 3. Plug the AC power cord into an AC outlet.
Connecting ,,Note yy It takes a few seconds (and may take longer) for the main unit and the subwoofer to communicate with each other and make sounds. yy The closer the main unit and the subwoofer, the better sound quality. It is recommended to install the main unit and the subwoofer as close as possible and avoid the cases below. 2 Connecting -- There is an obstacle between the main unit and the subwoofer.
Connecting 13 LG Sound Sync With wired connection 1. Connect your LG TV to the unit by using an optical cable. You can control some functions of this unit by your TV’s remote control with LG Sound Sync. It is compatible with the LG TV that is supported LG Sound Sync. Make sure of the LG Sound Sync logo on your TV. Optical cable Refer to the TV’s instruction manual for the details of LG Sound Sync. Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your equipment.
Connecting With wireless connection Using an HDMI cable 1. Turn on the unit by pressing 1 on the remote control or 1 on the unit. If you connect this unit to a TV that supports HDMI CEC and ARC (Audio Return Channel), you can enjoy the TV audio through the speakers of this unit without connecting the optical cable. 2. Select LG TV function by using F on the remote control or F on the unit until the function is selected. 3. Set up LG Sound Sync (Wireless) on the TV.
Connecting 15 ARC (Audio Return Channel) function What is SIMPLINK? The ARC function enables an HDMI capable TV to send the audio stream to HDMI OUT of the unit. To use this function : -- The setting method of HDMI-CEC and ARC may differ depending on the TV. For details about ARC function, refer to your TV manual. -- You must use the HDMI cable (Type A, High Speed HDMI™ cable with Ethernet).
Connecting Additional information for HDMI HDMI cable Checklist yy When you connect an HDMI or DVI compatible device make sure of the following: Some HDMI cables have poor signal transmission, which can cause problems with sound and video transmission. - Try switching off the HDMI/DVI device and this player. Next, switch on the HDMI/DVI device and leave it for around 30 seconds, then switch on this player. 2 - The connected device’s video input is set correctly for this unit.
Connecting 17 Optional equipment connection OPTICAL IN connection Connect an optical output jack of external devices to the OPTICAL IN jack. HDMI connection You can enjoy the sound from the external device which is connected to HDMI IN jack on this unit. Optical cable 1. Connect the OPTICAL IN jack on the back of the unit to optical out jack of your external device. 2. Select the input source to OPT/HDMI ARC by pressing F button on the remote or unit repeatedly.

Wired connection (Music Flow Mesh Network Connection) Then you can connect the additional Music Flow products (Optional) to your home network wirelessly. ASC Analyzes the property of input sound and provides the sound optimized for the content in real time. Bass Blast Reinforces the bass and powerful sound. Standard You can enjoy optimized sound. Cinema You can enjoy more immersive and cinematic surround sound.
Operating Different ways of listening to music There are a number of differing ways of listening to music : Group, Surround and Seamless playbacks. ,,Note 3 Group Playback You can group multiple speakers linked to the Music Flow Player app and play the same music through all the connected speakers in the same group. 1. Surround Sound Mode (Home Cinema Mode) Simply add a LG Music Flow sound bar to your network and synchronize it with your LG Music Flow speakers to enjoy a home cinema system experience. Changing playing speaker from a smart device to a speaker To use Seamless playback, you have to set up Auto Music Play to On. (Page 52) ,,Note yy It is not supported when you go out of the house with your smart device. yy WI-FI function on smart device must be turned on. yy If the input source is Portable In and Bluetooth, seamless play is not supported.

Operating 49 [Speakers] Menu You can adjust speakers connected to your network. a Rename – Renames the speaker. b Speaker LED – Turns on or off speaker’s LED indicator. c IP Info. - Shows the IP address of the speaker. Compressed sound transmission – Adjusts d the compression of audio source according to network status. DRC – It reduce the volume of loud sounds e or amplifies quiet sounds. (Dolby Digital only) Turns on or off DRC function. f Night – Turns on or off Night Mode function.
Operating [Alarms/Sleep Timer] Menu [Account management] Menu Turns on and off the speaker at a designated time. Manages online streaming service. Alarms [Time Zone] Menu Speaker will let you know when it is time. Deletes selected alarm. Adds new alarm. Sleep Timer Sets a time to automatically turn off the speaker. 3 1. Operating 51 [Advanced Settings] Menu Mesh Network Channel If normal playback or group playback is not smooth using multiple speakers including wireless speaker connection, changed the mesh network channel to improve network speed. 1. Select the [Settings] -> [Advanced Settings] option. ,,Note yy The speaker is disconnected temporarily during the channel changing. yy If you changed the channel when the speaker turned off, turn on and add it again.
Operating Auto Music Play Sensitivity Settings You can easily change the rendering device from your smart device or a speaker to another speaker by approaching your smart device to the desired speaker. Sets the operating distance of Auto Music Play between the speaker and your smart device to adjust sensitivity of Bluetooth (BLE). yy Your smart device should support Bluetooth (BLE). yy This function is subject to the smart device capability and the Wi-Fi network status.

Operating Using a BLUETOOTH Wireless Technology About BLUETOOTH Bluetooth is wireless communication technology for short range connection. The sound may be interrupted when the connection interfered by the other electronic wave or you connect the Bluetooth in the other rooms. 3 Operating Connecting individual devices under Bluetooth wireless technology does not incur any charges.

When this unit is successfully connected with your Bluetooth device, “PAIRED” [ your device’s name [ “BT” appears on the display window. ,,Note yy If it is unavailable to display device name on the unit, “-” will be displayed. yy To check the connected device’s name, press INFO on the remote control. The connected Bluetooth device’s name is displayed. 5. Listen to music. According to your Bluetooth device’s volume level, the volume level of Bluetooth will be adjusted.
Operating BLUETOOTH connection lock (BT LOCK) You can limit Bluetooth connection to only BT (Bluetooth) and LG TV function to prevent unintended Bluetooth connection. To turn on this function, press and hold AUTO POWER on the remote control for about 2 seconds in BT (Bluetooth) function and press it once again while “OFF - BT LOCK” is scrolled. Then you can limit Bluetooth connection.
Operating 57 Turn off the sound temporarily Auto power down Press This unit will turn itself off to save electric consumption when the main unit is not connected to an external device and is not used for 15 minutes. (Mute) to mute your unit. You can mute your unit, for example, to answer the telephone, “MUTE” is displayed in the display window. To cancel it, press (Mute) again on the remote control or change the volume level. Sleep timer setting This unit will turn off by itself after the time set.
Operating ,,Note yy After the unit is turned on by AUTO POWER function, it will be automatically turned off if there is no signal for a certain period of time from the TV connected by LG Sound Sync (Optical/Wireless). yy After the unit is turned on by AUTO POWER function, it will be automatically turned off if there is no signal for a certain period of time from the external device. 3 yy If you turned off the unit directly, it cannot be turned on automatically by AUTO POWER function.
Operating 59 ,,Note yy To change to optical function, it needs 5 seconds of no signal. yy This unit does not change the function to optical if SIMPLINK of the connected TV, Bluray disc player, set-top box or etc. device set to on or connected CEC supported device is turned on. yy If you want to use the auto function change, turn off SIMPLINK function on your LG TV. It takes for about 30 seconds to turn off SIMPLINK.
Operating Standby mode The speaker switches to the standby mode if there is no music playback or no button operation. If the Bluetooth standby mode is set to ON, the speaker switches Bluetooth standby mode when is turned off. Standby mode When you turn on the main unit in the Bluetooth standby mode, Bluetooth and LG TV are able to connect even if network is not connected. Option 1.
Troubleshooting 61 Troubleshooting General Symptoms Cause & Solution The unit does not work properly. yy Turn off the power of this unit and the connected external device (TV, Woofer, DVD-player, Amplifier, etc.) and turn them on again. yy Disconnect the power cord of this unit and the connected external device (TV, Woofer, DVD-player, Amplifier, etc.) and then try connecting again. yy Previous setting may not be saved when device power is shut off. The power does not turn on.
Troubleshooting Symptoms Cause & Solution When you feel the output sound of the unit is low. Check the details below and adjust the unit according to them. yy Switch the state of DRC function to [OFF] by using Music Flow Player. yy With the sound bar connected with TV, change the AUDIO DIGITAL OUT setting on TV Setup Menu from [PCM] to [AUTO] or [BITSTREAM].
Troubleshooting 63 Application and PC Software Symptoms Cause & Solution Music Flow Player app doesn’t work properly. Does an error occur when accessing the app? yy Make sure that your smart device is compatible with the app. yy Make sure that the Music Flow Player app is the latest version. yy Make sure that the speaker’s front LED turns from red to white. Music Flow PC Software doesn’t work properly. Does the firewall on your PC set to enable? yy Disable all your firewalls and try to connect again.
Troubleshooting NOTES to release Demo mode Symptoms Cause & Solution Can not change input source with F button such as BT (Bluetooth), HDMI etc. and only [DEMO] indication is showing in the front display.
