Introduzione Complimenti per aver scelto il telefono cellulare T5100: da vero Digital Camera phone, unisce le caratteristiche del telefono cellulare con quelle di una fotocamera digitale, grazie alla possibilità di scattare fotografie con risoluzione da 1.3 Mega pixel. • Questo manuale d’uso contiene. importanti informazioni sull’uso e sulle funzioni di questo telefono. Leggere attentamente tutte le informazioni per utilizzare il telefono in modo ottimale e per prevenire danni o malfunzionamenti.

Chiamate di emergenza Le chiamate di emergenza potrebbero non essere disponibili su tutte le reti cellulari. Per questo motivo, non fare mai affidamento solo sul telefono per le chiamate di emergenza. Contattare il fornitore di servizi locale. Nota • Le chiamate di emergenza si possono inviare anche quando non si è registrati sulla proprio gestore telefonico. In questo caso, l’indicatore della potenza del segnale mostrerà delle tacche, ma sul display non apparirà alcun nome operatore.

1. Altoparlante 2. Display interno: è lo schermo principale del telefono, che visualizza tutte le informazioni utili per l’uso delle funzioni del telefono. 3. Obiettivo fotocamera 4. Funzioni T5100 11. Tasti di navigazione: utilizzare questi tasti per scorrere i menu e spostare il cursore. Consentono inoltre di accedere rapidamente alle seguenti funzioni. • Tasto di navigazione su: se si preme questo tasto in modalità standby si accede alla funzione di ricerca nomi nella rubrica. • Tasto di navigazione giù: tasto di scelta rapida per il menu Preferiti. • Tasto di navigazione sinistro: è un tasto di scelta rapida per selezionare il profilo audio desiderato.
1.3 Fotocamera digitale megapixel DSC Il display è in grado di ruotare IN SENSO ANTIORARIO fino a 180 gradi. Si utilizza come mirino e consente di scattare foto con la massima semplicità. Con il folder ruotato di 180 gradi, il display principale può essere utilizzato come display esterno. Il telefono diventa così una fotocamera digitale. Nota • Non forzare il display LCD per ruotarlo. Non tentare di ruotarlo in senso orario.
Funzioni T5100 Dopo aver ruotato il folder di 180 gradi, tenendolo chiuso, il telefono si trasforma in fotocamera digitale. ➋ Presa auricolare ➌ Tasto menu impostazioni ➊ Porta infrarossi ➍ Tasto laterale fotocamera ➏ Tasti laterali Su e Giù fotocamera / conferma / MP3 ➎ LCD principale ➊ Porta infrarossi ➋ Presa auricolare ➌ Tasto menu impostazioni fotocamera / conferma / MP3: in modo anteprima, consente di accedere ai menu di impostazioni della fotocamera e di confermare le selezioni.
2. Tenere premuto il tasto laterale della fotocamera (➍) per almeno 2 secondi. In questo modo, viene attivato il modulo fotocamera e visualizzata la schermata di anteprima. Nota • In modo anteprima, se non si preme nessun tasto entro 1 minuto, il modulo fotocamera viene chiuso, tornando in modo standby. 3. Inquadrare il soggetto e premere il tasto laterale della fotocamera (➍). L’immagine scattata viene salvata automaticamente nel menu Album foto [Menu 6-4].
Funzioni T5100 Informazioni sul display La tabella riportata di seguito descrive vari indicatori di visualizzazione e diverse icone che appaiono sul display del telefono. Icone del display Icona Descrizione Indica la potenza del segnale di rete. NOTA: A seconda della potenza del segnale, la qualità della conversazione può variare.
Icona Descrizione Indica la ricezione di un messaggio MMS. Indica che la funzione di trasferimento è attiva. Indica che il profilo vibrazione è attivo. Indica la ricezione di un messaggio e-mail. Indica che il profilo Volume alto è attivato. Indica che il profilo Silenzioso è attivato. Indica che il profilo Auricolare è attivato. Indica che il profilo Auto è attivato. Indica che il profilo Normale è attivato. Indica la ricezione di un messaggio Push. Indica un appuntamento impostato in Agenda.
Operazioni preliminari Installazione della scheda SIM e della batteria Assicurarsi di avere spento il telefono prima di inserire la scheda SIM. 1. Rimuovere il coperchio della batteria. Premere il gancio del cover batteria e far scivolare il coperchio verso la parte inferiore del telefono. Rimuovere il coperchio. 1 3 2 Nota • Rimuovere la batteria quando il telefono è acceso può comportare malfunzionamenti e danneggiare la SIM card. 2. Rimuovere la batteria.
3. Inserire la carta SIM. Inserire la scheda SIM nell’apposito alloggiamento e farla scorrere in posizione. Assicurarsi che la SIM sia inserita correttamente (fare riferimento alla figura sottostante) e che i suoi contatti dorati siano rivolti verso il basso. Per rimuovere la SIM, farla scorrere verso la parte esterna del telefono ed estrarla dall’apposito alloggiamento.
Operazioni preliminari 5. Inserire il cover batteria. Appoggiare il coperchio della batteria sul telefono e farlo scorrere fino a sentire lo scatto. Carica della batteria Utilizzare esclusivamente l’adattatore da viaggio in dotazione al telefono o un accessorio opzionale originale LG. 1 2 1. Quando la batteria è inserita nella posizione corretta, collegare il cavo dell’adattatore da viaggio alla presa adattatore posta sul lato del telefono.
Attenzione • l’utilizzo di accessori non autorizzati potrebbe danneggiare il telefono e rendere nulla la garanzia. • Non forzare il connettore: l’operazione potrebbe danneggiare il telefono e/o l’adattatore. Nota • Dopo aver collegato il caricabatterie da viaggio, sullo schermo del telefono viene visualizzato il messaggio “In carica…”. Solo se la batteria è totalmente scarica, il messaggio “In carica…” verrà visualizzato dopo un lungo periodo di tempo. Disconnessione dell’adattatore 1.
Operazioni preliminari Accensione e spegnimento del telefono Accensione del telefono 1. Collegare la batteria. Se è scarica, collegare il telefono a una fonte di alimentazione esterna quale un adattatore da viaggio, per accendisigari o un kit vivavoce. 2. Premere E per alcuni secondi fino a quando il display si accende. 3. Immettere il codice PIN, se è stato attivato nel menu Richiesta PIN. Spegnimento del telefono 1. Premere E per alcuni secondi fino a quando ha inizio la sequenza di spegnimento.
Codice PIN2 (da 4 a 8 cifre) Il codice PIN2, fornito con alcune schede SIM, è necessario per accedere ad alcune funzioni come l’indicazione del costo chiamate e la lista dei numeri fissi (FDN). Queste funzioni sono disponibili solo se supportate dalla scheda SIM in uso. Contattare il gestore di rete per ulteriori informazioni. Codice PUK (da 4 a 8 cifre) Il codice PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) è necessario per modificare un codice PIN bloccato. Il codice PUK dovrebbe essere fornito con la scheda SIM.
Funzioni generali Effettuare e rispondere alle chiamate Effettuare una chiamata 1. Assicurarsi che il telefono sia acceso. 2. Digitare un numero di telefono comprensivo di prefisso. Per modificare un numero sul display, premere i tasti di navigazione destro/sinistro per spostare il cursore alla posizione desiderata o premere semplicemente il tasto cancella (C) per cancellare una cifra alla volta. Per cancellare l’intero numero, tenere premuto il tasto cancella (C). 3.
Terminare una chiamata Al termine della chiamata, premere il tasto fine (E) oppure chiudere il folder Effettuare una chiamata dalla Rubrica È possibile salvare i nomi e i numeri di telefono desiderati nella rubrica della scheda SIM e/o nella memoria del telefono. Per comporre un numero è sufficiente individuare il nome desiderato nella Rubrica e premere il tasto INVIO. Per ulteriori dettagli sulla funzione Rubrica, consultare il [Menu 4-1].
Funzioni generali Nota • Se è stata scelta l’opzione Qualsiasi tasto come modalità di risposta, per rispondere alla chiamata è possibile premere un tasto qualunque ad eccezione del tasto E o del tasto funzione destro. Per rifiutare una chiamata in arrivo, premere e tenere premuto uno dei tasti laterali sulla sinistra del telefono senza aprire il folder. È possibile rispondere a una chiamata mentre si consulta la Rubrica o si utilizzano altre funzioni dei menu. 2.
Modalità T9 Questa modalità consente di digitare le parole con una singola pressione dei tasti per ciascuna lettera che compone la parola. La modalità T9, infatti, confronta automaticamente le pressioni sul tasto con un dizionario interno per determinare la parola corretta; in tal modo richiede molte meno pressioni dei tasti rispetto alla tradizionale modalità ABC.
Funzioni generali Utilizzo della modalità T9 La modalità di immissione testo intuitiva T9 consente di digitare le parole con facilità premendo un numero minimo di tasti. Man mano che si preme ciascun tasto, il telefono visualizza i caratteri in base a un dizionario interno. Quando viene aggiunta una lettera, la parola cambia in base alla scelta più probabile del dizionario. Nel caso non vi sia la parola desiderata, è possibile aggiungerla al dizionario. 1.
2. Digitare la parola intera prima di modificare o cancellare qualsiasi carattere. 3. Aggiungere uno spazio a ciascuna parola premendo il tasto 0. Per cancellare le lettere, premere C. Per cancellare intere parole, premere e tenere premuto il tasto C. Avvertenza • Per uscire dalla modalità di immissione testo senza salvare il testo digitato, premere E. Il telefono torna alla schermata Stand-by. Utilizzo della modalità ABC Utilizzare i tasti da 2 a 9 per digitare il testo. 1.

Rubrica È possibile salvare i numeri di telefono e i relativi nomi nella memoria della scheda SIM in uso, oppure nella memoria del telefono. Nella memoria del telefono si possono memorizzare fino a 255 numeri e nomi; la memoria della SIM dipende dalla SIM stessa. La scheda SIM e la memoria del telefono, benché fisicamente distinte, vengono utilizzate come un’unica entità chiamata Rubrica.
Funzioni generali Passaggio da una chiamata all’altra Per passare da una chiamata all’altra, premere il tasto funzione sinistro, quindi selezionare Scambia. Risposta a una seconda chiamata in arrivo Questa funzione, denominata Avviso di chiamata, è disponibile soltanto se supportata dal gestore di rete. Per informazioni dettagliate su come attivare e disattivare la funzione, consultare la sezione Avviso di chiamata [Menu 9-2-4].
Toni DTMF durante una chiamata I toni DTMF consentono al telefono di avvalersi di un centralino automatico. Per attivare i toni DTMF durante una chiamata, premere il tasto funzione sinistro e selezionare Attiva DTMF. Per disattivare i toni DTMF, usare la stessa procedura. I toni DTMF sono attivi di default. Chiamate multiple o conferenza Il servizio conferenza permette di condurre una conversazione simultanea con più utenti (se il vostro gestore di rete supporta questa funzione).
Funzioni generali Come mettere una conferenza in attesa Premere il tasto funzione sinistro, quindi selezionare Conferenza/Metti in attesa. Gli altri utenti in attesa rimarrano collegati fra di loro. Come attivare la conferenza in attesa Premere il tasto funzione sinistro, quindi selezionare Riprendi. Come aggiungere chiamate a una conferenza Per aggiungere chiamate a una conferenza in corso, premere il tasto funzione sinistro, quindi selezionare Conferenza/Collega.

Selezione di funzioni e opzioni Il telefono dispone di un insieme di funzioni che sono organizzate in menu e sottomenu ai quali si accede mediante i due tasti funzione (<) e (>). Ciascun menu e sottomenu consente di visualizzare e modificare le impostazioni di una funzione specifica. La funzione svolta da questo tipo di tasti varia in base al contesto; Il testo in corrispondenza sopra ai due tasti indica la funzione associata in quel particolare contesto.
Profili [Menu 1] Nella cartella Profili, è possibile regolare e personalizzare il profilo audio del telefono a seconda delle circostanze e dell’ambiente. Sono disponibili sei profili predefiniti: Vibrazione, Silenzioso, Normale, Volume alto, Auricolare e Automobile. E’ possibile personalizzare in base alle proprie esigenze tutti i profili tranne Vibrazione e Silenzioso. Premere il tasto Menu e selezionare Profili tramite i tasti di navigazione su/giù. Attivazione del profilo [Menu 1-x-1] 1.
• Tono messaggi: Impostare il tono per i messaggi, scegliendolo fra i 5 disponibili. • Tono tasti: Selezionare il tono tastiera desiderato. • Volume tasti: Impostare il volume del tono tastiera. • Volume effetti audio: Impostare il volume degli effetti (toni di conferma ecc...) • Volume on/off: Impostare il livello del volume della suoneria quando si accende o si spegne il telefono. • Auto risposta: (Solo per i profili Auricolare e Automobile) È possibile attivare la funzione di risposta automatica.
Chiamate [Menu 2] (in base al servizio di rete) Questo menu visualizza il registro chiamate (perse, ricevute e inviate) e i relativi dettagli. Nel caso in cui non vi sia il servizio CLI (Calling Line Identification) non sarà possibile vedere il numero del chiamante. Inoltre, in questo menu è possibile verificare anche la durata e i costi (se la funzione è supportata dal gestore) delle chiamate. Premere il tasto (<) Menue selezionare Chiamate tramite i tasti di navigazione su/giù.
Ricevute [Menu 2-2] Questa opzione permette di visualizzare le ultime 10 chiamate ricevute. Dopo aver selezionato un numero di telefono, è possibile effettuare la chiamata premendo il tasto Invia (S). Utilizzando il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni], risultano disponibili le seguenti opzioni. • Scrivi SMS: consente di inviare un SMS al numero selezionato. • Scrivi MMS: consente di inviare un messaggio multimediale al numero selezionato.
Chiamate [Menu 2] (in base al servizio di rete) • Modifica (Solo per un numero memorizzato in rubrica): consente di modificare la voce di rubrica. • Salva (solo se il numero non è già salvato in rubrica): salva il numero in rubrica creando un nuovo contatto. • Aggiungi a nome (solo se il numero non è già salvato in rubrica): salva il numero in rubrica aggiungendolo a un contatto gia esistente. • Cancella: consente di eliminare la chiamata dall’elenco.
Nota • La durata effettiva delle chiamate fatturata dal gestore di servizi può variare in base alle caratteristiche della rete, all’arrotondamento degli importi fatturati e così via. Costi chiamate [Menu 2-6] Questo servizio di rete consente di controllare i costi dell’ultima chiamata e di tutte le chiamate. Il costo dell’ultima chiamata viene visualizzato in fondo al display. Per azzerare il costo della chiamata, premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Reset] o il tasto OK.
Chiamate [Menu 2] (in base al servizio di rete) • Imposta tariffa: È possibile impostare la valuta e il costo unitario. Contattare i gestori di rete per i costi e le tariffe. Per scegliere la Valuta o l’Unità, è necessario il codice PIN2. Nota • Quando tutte le unità disponibili saranno esaurite, sarà possibile effettuare solo chiamate di emergenza. Normalmente, per modificare il limite di costo chiamata è necessario il codice PIN2 della scheda SIM.
Accessori [Menu 3] Premere il tasto Menu (<) e selezionare Accessori tramite i tasti di navigazione su/giù. Cartella personale [Menu 3-1] Il menu Cartella personale contiene 4 cartelle: Immagini, Libreria VOD, Animazioni e Suoni. I contenuti scaricati tramite servizio WAP, MMS o EMS vengono memorizzati nelle rispettive cartelle e possono essere visualizzati, cancellati e controllati in qualsiasi momento.

Preferiti [Menu 3-2] È possibile creare un menu contenente le opzioni più utilizzate. Nella modalità Standby, premere il tasto di navigazione giù (D) per accedere al menu Preferiti. 1. Una volta selezionato un numero da 1-9 corrispondente alla posizione desiderata, premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Aggiungi]. 2. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Seleziona] per scegliere il menu che si desidera aggiungere al menu Preferiti. Verrà visualizzata una finestra con il messaggio “Attivato”.
Accessori [Menu 3] 2. Per spostarsi sulla sezione dell’unità Attuale, premere il tasto di navigazione Giù 3. Per selezionare l’unità che si desidera convertire, premere i tasti di navigazione sinistra/destra. 4. Per spostarsi sulla sezione Nuova (che indica l’unità di misura convertita), premere il tasto di navigazione Giù 5. Per selezionare l’unità alla quale si desidera convertire il numero, utilizzare i tasti di navigazione sinistra/destra. 6. Per inserire i numeri, utilizzare i tasti numerici.
3. Per calcolare il risultato, premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Esegui] o il tasto OK. 4. Una volta effettuato il calcolo, premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Azzera] per azzerare la calcolatrice. Fusi orari [Menu 3-5] Consente di controllare l’ora corrente di GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) e di alcune città principali del mondo, utilizzando i tasti di navigazione sinistro/destro. Sullo schermo viene visualizzato il nome della città con la data e l’ora locali.
Accessori [Menu 3] Nota • Se tutte le posizioni sono occupate, è necessario cancellare un memo vecchio prima di registrarne uno nuovo. E’ possibile riprodurre il memo selezionato, cancellarlo o cancellare tutti i memo premendo il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni].
Porta IrDA Porta IrDA Nota • PC Sync è un programma che consente di scambiare dati tra PC e telefono tramite un cavo dati. Quindi, per poter utilizzare questa funzione, è necessario acquistare l’apposito kit. Per ulteriori informazioni, è possibile consultare la guida in linea di PC Sync nel relativo CD. • Tramite la porta IrDA e’ possibile trasferire qualsiasi tipo di contenuto dal PC al telefono e viceversa (rubrica, sfondi, suonerie, foto e così via...).
Agenda [Menu 4] Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Menu] da standby e selezionare Agenda. Questo menu include le seguenti voci: Rubrica [Menu 4-1] I numeri di telefono e i nomi corrispondenti possono essere salvati nella memoria della scheda SIM o nella memoria del telefono, che può contenere un massimo di 255 contatti. La memoria della scheda SIM dipende dalla SIM utilizzata. I dati contenuti nelle due memorie vengono utilizzati come un’unica entità, denominata Rubrica.
• Modifica: Consente di modificare il nome, il gruppo e la foto. • Copia: Consente di copiare il contatto dalla SIM alla memoria del telefono o viceversa. Scegliere se copiare o spostare il numero di telefono originale. • Cancella: Consente di eliminare il contatto dalla rubrica. • Dettagli: Per visualizzare i dettagli del numero selezionato. Nuovo [Menu 4-1-2] Permette di aggiungere un nuovo contatto in rubrica. Sono disponibili 2 memorie: la memoria del telefono e la memoria della scheda SIM.
Agenda [Menu 4] Suggerimento • Funzione Pausa: quando si effettua una chiamata a sistemi telefonici automatizzati, come le caselle vocali o i numeri del proprio operatore telefonico, è spesso necessario digitare una serie di numeri. Anziché doverli inserire manualmente, è possibile memorizzarli nella rubrica utilizzando la funzione Pausa. Per inserire una pausa tra due numeri, tenere premuto il tasto 2. Nota • Il telefono consente la funzione di identificazione del chiamante mediante foto.
Elenco voci [Menu 4-1-4] Questo menu visualizza tutti i numeri di telefono a cui è stato assegnato un comando vocale. Dopo aver selezionato un numero di telefono tramite i tasti di navigazione Su/Giù, premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni]. Sarà possibile visualizzare i seguenti sottomenu. • Nuovo: Permette di aggiungere un richiamo vocale a un altro contatto in rubrica. • Riproduci: Riproduce il comando vocale assegnato al numero di telefono.
Agenda [Menu 4] • Aggiungi membro: Per aggiungere un membro al gruppo. • Elenco membri: Visualizza l’elenco dei membri del gruppo. • Suoneria gruppo: Utilizzare questa funzione per selezionare la suoneria da utilizzare quando si riceve una chiamata da una persona del gruppo. • Icona Gruppo: Utilizzare questa funzione per selezionare l’icona da visualizzare quando si riceve una chiamata da una persona del gruppo. • Rinomina: Per assegnare un nuovo nome al gruppo.
Memoria [Menu 4-1-8] Imposta la memoria predefinita per il salvataggio di nuovi contatti in rubrica. Se si seleziona Variabile, ogni volta che si aggiungerà una voce, il telefono chiederà dove salvarla. Informazioni [Menu 4-1-9] • Numeri di servizio (SDN) – (se supportati dalla SIM): Utilizzare questa funzione per visualizzare l’elenco di numeri SDN (Service Dialling Number) assegnati dal proprio gestore di rete (se supportato dalla scheda SIM).
Agenda [Menu 4] 4. Melodia sveglia: selezionare la melodia desiderata per la sveglia utilizzando il tasto di navigazione destro o sinistro. 5. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [OK] o il tasto OK. Quando la funzione sveglia è attiva, l’icona modo standby. viene visualizzata in Al raggiungimento dell’ora impostata, la sveglia squilla, anche se il telefono è spento. Per spegnere la sveglia, premere il tasto funzione destro [Esci].
Dopo aver inserito una nota, la data della nota risulta in un colore diverso e, nell’angolo destro dello schermo, è presente l’icona . Se una data è evidenziata, significa che per quel giorno è stato programmato un evento. Premendo il tasto [Opzioni], è possibile visualizzare i seguenti sottomenu. Nuovo: È possibile memorizzare un massimo di 30 note da 40 caratteri ciascuna e impostare una sveglia e la ricorrenza (quotidiana, settimanale, mensile, annuale).
Agenda [Menu 4] • Salva: Consente di salvare il memo. • Lingua T9: Selezionare la lingua T9 da utilizzare nel memo. • Esci: Esce dall’editor dei memo. Elenco [Menu 4-4-2] Selezionare questo menu per controllare i memo inseriti. 1. Selezionare un memo. 2. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [OK]. Nota • E’ sufficiente premere i tasti di navigazione su e giù per visualizzare tutte le note memorizzate. 3. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni]. Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni.
Messaggi [Menu 5] Premere il tasto Menu (<) e selezionare Messaggi tramite i tasti di navigazione su/giù. SMS [Menu 5-1] Il telefono può ricevere dei messaggi vocali (se supportati dall’operatore) e dei messaggi di testo (SMS). I messaggi vocali e gli SMS sono servizi di rete. Per ulteriori informazioni, contattare il fornitore di servizi. Se viene visualizzata l’icona , significa che è stato ricevuto un messaggio vocale (gli operatori italiani non supportano questa icona).
Messaggi [Menu 5] • Invia: immettere il numero di telefono o selezionare il numero dalla rubrica o dall’elenco dei numeri recenti. È possibile inviare un messaggio a un massimo di 5 numeri telefonici contemporaneamente. • Salva in bozze: consente di salvare il messaggio nella cartella Bozze per poi inviarlo in un secondo momento. • Lingua T9: selezionare la lingua della modalità di immissione testo T9. Per disattivare la modalità T9, selezionare ‘Disattiva T9’.
• Suoni: E’ possibile allegare un suono monofonico al messaggio. • Modello di testo: è possibile utilizzare i modelli di testo giá impostati nel telefono per velocizzare la scrittura degli SMS. • Numero di telefono: è possibile aggiungere numeri di telefono al messaggio, prelevandoli dalla rubrica. • Biglietto da visita: è possibile allegare il proprio biglietto da visita composto da Nome, numeri di telefono e E-mail.
Messaggi [Menu 5] Nota • Messaggio SIM si riferisce al messaggio salvato nella memoria SIM. Infatti, in casi particolari alcuni messaggi devono necessariamente essere salvati sulla SIM. Per leggere il messaggio, evidenziarlo e premere il tasto OK. Premendo il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni] si accede al seguente menu. • Rispondi: consente di rispondere al messaggio ricevuto. • Inoltra: consente di inoltrare il messaggio ad altri destinatari. • Richiama: consente di richiamare il mittente.
Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni. • Inoltra: consente di inoltrare il messaggio corrente ad altri destinatari. • Cancella: consente di cancellare il messaggio selezionato dalla cartella Inviati. Bozze [Menu 5-1-4] Questo menu consente di visualizzare un elenco dei messaggi salvati come bozza. Sfogliare l’elenco con i tasti di navigazione su/giù. È possibile inviare o cancellare una bozza di messaggio premendo il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni].
Messaggi [Menu 5] • Rispondi tramite lo stesso centro servizi: Quando si invia un messaggio, la risposta del destinatario può essere addebitata al mittente impostando questa funzione su [Si]. Verificare la disponibilità del servizio con il proprio operatore. • Centro SMS: consente di memorizzare o cambiare il numero del centro SMS richiesto per inviare i messaggi di testo. Richiedere questo numero al proprio fornitore di servizi. • Trasporto: consente di selezionare tra GPRS o GSM.
3. Un MMS puo essere composto da più pagine, che si succedono secondo tempistiche prestabilite, come veri e propri fotogrammi di un film. In ogni pagina potranno poi essere inseriti nuovi suoni e immagini (una per pagina) come di consueto. Per aggiungere una nuova pagina, spostare il cursore su , quindi premere il tasto funzione sinistro. Per aggiungere una pagina, è anche possibile utilizzare il testo funzione destro [Menu]. Nota • E’ possibile aggiungere fino a 9 pagine. 4.
Messaggi [Menu 5] Ricevuti [Menu 5-2-2] Questa cartella contiene tutti i messaggi MMS ricevuti. Ogni MMS è identificato da un’icona, come mostrato nella descrizione sottostante. • Pagina precedente: mostra la pagina precedente. • Riavvia: riproduce nuovamente il messaggio multimediale. • Salva messaggio: salva il messaggio multimediale come bozza o modello. • Salva allegati: consente di estrarre le immagini o i suoni e di salvarli nella Cartella inbox. • Dettagli: visualizza le informazioni sul messaggio ricevuto, come il mittente, l’Oggetto, la Data e l’ora, il Tipo e le Dimensioni del messaggio. • Rispondi: consente di rispondere al mittente.
Messaggi [Menu 5] • Riavvia: Riproduce l’MMS dalla pagina iniziale. • Salva messaggio: salva il messaggio multimediale come bozza o modello. • Salva allegati: consente di estrarre le immagini o i suoni e di salvarli nella Cartella inbox. • Dettagli: visualizza le informazioni sul messaggio ricevuto, come il mittente, l’Oggetto, la Data e l’ora, il Tipo e le Dimensioni del messaggio. • Elimina messaggio: elimina il messaggio corrente.
Impostazioni [Menu 5-2-5] Tramite questo menu è possibile impostare le informazioni predefinite dei messaggi multimediali. Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni. • Titolo: Inserire il titolo del messaggio (verrà visualizzato nella notifica MMS al destinatario). • Durata pagina: Impostare la durata di ogni pagina dell’MMS. • Allineamento: Regola l’allineamento del testo e delle immagini nell’MMS.
Messaggi [Menu 5] Chiama segreteria [Menu 5-3-1] Chiama il numero della segreteria per ascoltarne i messaggi. E’ possibile chiamare la segreteria tenendo premuto il tasto 1 in modalità standby. Numero segreteria [Menu 5-3-2] Imposta il numero della casella vocale. Messaggi CB [Menu 5-4] I messaggi di rete o CB (Cell Broadcast) sono messaggi di testo inviati dal gestore della rete all’utente.
Canali [Menu 5-4-3] (In base alla rete e al tipo di abbonamento) In questo menù vanno specificati i canali relativi ai messaggi CB che si desidera ricevere. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni] e selezionare Nuovo. È inoltre possibile disattivare, modificare o eliminare gli argomenti esistenti. Avviso ricezione [Menu 5-4-4] Il telefono emette un segnale acustico alla ricezione di messaggi di rete (eccetto per le informazioni sulla località).
Messaggi [Menu 5] Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni. • Modifica: Utilizzare questa opzione per modificare il modello. Un modello può contenere massimo 30 caratteri. • Cancella: Elimina il modello selezionato. • Invia con SMS: Utilizzare questa opzione per inviare il modello via SMS. • Invia con MMS: Utilizzare questa opzione per inviare il modello via MMS. • Nuovo: Crea un nuovo modello. Un modello può contenere massimo 30 caratteri.
Biglietto da visita [Menu 5-6] Questa opzione consente di creare un proprio biglietto da visita. 1. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Nuovo]. 2. Inserire nome, numero di cellulare, numero dell’ufficio, fax e indirizzo e-mail. 3. Premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Salva]. Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni. • Modifica: consente di modificare il biglietto da visita. • Cancella: Elimina il biglietto da visita. • Invia con SMS: Consente di inviare il biglietto da visita tramite SMS.
Fotocamera [Menu 6] T5100 integra una fotocamera digitale da 1.3 Mega pixel, che permette di scattare fotografie con la risoluzione massima di 1280x960 pixel (anche detta SXGA). Il sensore CMOS permette quindi di scattare fotografie di alta qualità grazie anche a funzioni aggiuntive quali lo zoom digitale fino a 4x (a seconda delle risoluzioni), il controllo della luminosità e bilanciamento del bianco, modifica del colore e così via.
➀ Luminosità: sono disponibili 6 livelli, compreso il modo notturno. ➁ Bilanciamento del bianco: sono disponibili 5 opzioni: Auto, Giorno, Luminosità Fluorescente, Nuvoloso e Incandescente. ➂ Risoluzione: cambia la risoluzione (dimensione) delle foto scegliendo fra QVGA (320x240), VGA (640x480), ➀ ➁➂ ➃ ➄ ➅ ➆ SXGA (1280x960) e PANO (1280x640) ➃ Colore: modifica la colorazione della foto. Le opzioni disponibili sono: Colori, Bianco e nero, Seppia, Blu e Negativo.
Fotocamera [Menu 6] Prima di scattare la foto, è inoltre possibile utilizzare le seguenti funzioni: ➀ Zoom: è possibile ingrandire/ridurre ➂ l’immagine utilizzando i ➁ tasti di navigazione su/giù Risoluzione (U , D) o i tasti laterali selezionata su/giù. Questa barra mostra il grado dello zoom.
Eseguire uno scatto singolo ( ) 1. Nel modo anteprima, premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Menu] per accedere al menu di impostazioni della fotocamera. 2. Evidenziare Modo scatto utilizzando i tasti di navigazione sinistro/destro e premere il tasto OK. 3. Selezionare il modo Scatto singolo ( ). Nota • Nel modo Scatto singolo è possibile selezionare una delle risoluzioni tra QVGA (320X240), VGA (640X480), SXGA (1280X960) e Panorama (1280X640). 4.
Fotocamera [Menu 6] Riprendi video [Menu 6-2] Il T5100 permette di registrare approssimativamente fino a 30 minuti di video, a seconda della risoluzione utilizzata, della quantita di memoria disponibile e della quantita di dati da comprimere. Premere il tasto Menu e selezionare Fotocamera ➝ Riprendi video. Per iniziare la registrazione, premere il tasto Fotocamera (Q). 1. E’ possibile impostare i seguenti parametri di registrazione premendo il tasto funzione [Menu].
Scatto con cornice [Menu 6-3] Premere il tasto Menu e selezionare Fotocamera ➝ Scatto con cornice. Le foto possono essere contornate da diverse cornici, scegliendo tra le 15 preimpostate. 1. Per selezionare una cornice, premere il tasto funzione [Menu]. 2. Evidenziare Cornice ( ) utilizzando i tasti di navigazione sinistro/destro e premere il tasto OK. 3. Dopo aver selezionato la cornice desiderata, premere il tasto OK. ),scattare 4.
Fotocamera [Menu 6] • Invia con MMS: consente di inviare l’immagine selezionata tramite un messaggio multimediale. Nota • Per ulteriori informazioni, consultare la sezione MMS – Scrivi [Menu 5-2-1]. Non è possibile inviare con MMS una foto con risoluzione SXGA poichè le dimensioni del file sono troppo elevate. Il telefono proporrà comunque un ridimensionamento dell’immagine per permettere l’invio.
- Ridimensiona: è possibile modificare le dimensioni dell’immagine utilizzando il tasto di navigazione sinistro o destro. - Ritaglia: ritaglia l’immagine per adattarla alle dimensioni del display (176x220 pixel). Utilizzare i tasti di navigazione per visualizzare la porzione di immagine da ritagliare e premere il tasto funzione sinistro [Ritaglia]. E’ possibile inoltre utilizzare la funzione di Zoom. ! Nota: Le immagini ritagliate non possono essere modificate.
Fotocamera [Menu 6] • Cancella tutti: cancella tutte le immagini memorizzate nel telefono. • Dettagli: consente di verificare titolo, risoluzione, dimensioni, data e ora dell’immagine selezionata. Album filmati [Menu 6-5] Premere il tasto Menu e selezionare Fotocamera ➝ Album filmati. Viene visualizzato l’elenco dei video registrati. Selezionare il video prescelto utilizzando i tasti di navigazione su/giù e premere il tasto OK per avviare la riproduzione.
Durante la riproduzione di un video clip è possibile utilizzare i seguenti tasti: Per interrompere momentaneamente/ riprendere la riproduzione. Premere il tasto OK ( O ). Per cambiare l'opzione di riproduzione (singola o ripetuta). Premere il tasto funzione sinistro ( < ). Per tornare indietro. Utilizzare il tasto di navigazione sinistro ( L ). Per andare avanti. Utilizzare il tasto di navigazione destro ( R ). Per aumentare il volume.
Fotocamera [Menu 6] - Singola: Una volta scattata la foto, il flash viene disattivato. - Continua: Il flash rimane attivato. Questa modalità consuma la batteria del telefono più velocemente. 6. Timer slide show: impostare il timer con il quale si succedono le foto in modalità Slide show, scegliendo fra 3 o 5 secondi. Stato memoria [Menu 6-7] Premere il tasto Menu e selezionare Fotocamera ➝ Stato memoria.
Multimedia [Menu 7] Lettore MP3 [Menu 7-1] T5100 è dotato di un lettore MP3 incorporato. È possibile ascoltare file musicali MP3 e AAC salvati sulla memoria del telefono utilizzando l’auricolare streo o l’altoparlante interno. Nota • A causa delle dimensioni ridotte, l’altoparlante interno potrebbe causare distorsioni nella riproduzione di alcuni tipi di brani che contengono molti bassi, soprattutto quando si alza il volume.
Multimedia [Menu 7] Nota • I programmi LG sono compatibili con i sistemi operativi Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME e Windows XP. • Il cavo USB puo’ essere utilizzato per scaricare MP3 dal PC al telefono e per scaricare Video e Foto dal telefono al PC. Per scaricare suonerie, sfondi e giochi Java, oppure per gestire la rubrica, l’agenda o i messaggi dal PC e’ necessario invece il cavo seriale RS232. Verificare la disponibilita’ di questo accessorio presso il proprio rivenditore.
Nota • L’apertura o la chiusura del telefono non interferisce con la riproduzione MP3 una volta che questa è stata avviata. È possibile spegnere il lettore MP3 premendo il tasto Fine (E) quando il telefono è aperto e tenendo premuto il tasto del lettore MP3 (m) sul lato destro del telefono quando questo è chiuso. Funzioni dei tasti per il lettore MP3 Nell’elenco di brani MP3 sono disponibili i seguenti tasti di scelta rapida. Per riprodurre o mettere in pausa il brano Premere O.
Multimedia [Menu 7] Note Riproduzione di file MP3 senza aprire il telefono Tasto del lettore MP3 È possibile attivare il lettore MP3 quando il telefono è chiuso. Premere il tasto del lettore MP3 (m) sul lato destro del telefono per avviare la riproduzione. Per passare al brano successivo, premere il tasto del lettore MP3 (m). Per interrompere la riproduzione, tenere premuto il tasto del lettore MP3 (m). Per regolare il volume, utilizzare il tasto ([) sul lato sinistro del telefono.
Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni (a seconda delle situazioni, il menu potrebbe cambiare) : • Apri: Avvia l’applicazione selezionata • Cancella: Cancella l’applicazione selezionata. Una volta eliminata, non sarà possibile ripristinarla a meno che non venga scaricata nuovamente. • Informazioni: Visualizza tutte le informazioni sull’applicazione selezionata, come il nome, la dimensione e la versione, oltre all’URL e alle informazioni della casa produttrice.
Multimedia [Menu 7] • Nuovo: Consente di inserire un nuovo sito preferito, indicando i dati già descritti per l’opzione Modifica. Tali siti preferiti sono riservati alla sezione Java e non verranno visualizzati come preferiti nella sezione WAP. Nota • Una volta selezionata la funzione per accedere al server di Java MIDlet Provider si può scegliere di scaricare e installare sul telefono uno dei tanti programmi Java disponibili.
Stato memoria [Menu 7-3-3] Le applicazioni Java vengono salvate nella memoria del telefono (max 300KB). Una volta esaurita la memoria non sarà più possibile salvare altri programmi. L’opzione Stato memoria consente di verificare la capacità di memoria disponibile nel telefono.
Servizi [Menu 8] Premere il tasto Menu e selezionare Servizi tramite i tasti di navigazione su/giù. Internet [Menu 8-1] WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) si può definire come una riproduzione in piccolo della normale rete Internet. Sfruttando un sistema di navigazione simile, è possibile visualizzare pagine di informazioni, oppure richiedere diversi servizi. Attraverso il browser WAP 2.
Utilizzare il Menu del browser WAP. Premendo il tasto [Opzioni] mentre si naviga, è possibile accedere a diverse funzioni a seconda della situazione. Nota • I menu del browser Wap utilizzato possono variare in base alla versione installata. Home [Menu 8-1-1] Consente di collegarsi alla Homepage impostata nel profilo attivo.
Servizi [Menu 8] Messaggi push [Menu 8-1-3] I messaggi Push sono dei messaggi contenenti un indirizzo WAP al quale ci si può collegare con un semplice click. I messaggi Push sono dei servizi dipendenti dall’operatore. • Messaggi push Visualizza la lista dei messaggi push ricevuti. Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni: • Informazioni: Consente di visualizzare il contenuto del messaggio Push ricevuto. • Carica: Consente di collegarsi al sito specificato nel messaggio Push.
Ogni profilo contiene i seguenti menu: • Attiva: Attiva il profilo selezionato. • Impostazioni: Contiene il menu di configurazione per il profilo selezionato. • Rinomina: Modifica il nome del profilo. • Nuovo: Aggiunge un nuovo profilo alla lista. • Cancella: Cancella il profilo dalla lista. Nota • Queste opzioni di modifica possono interferire con la funzione MMS. • Per informazioni relative ai parametri di configurazione, rivolgersi al proprio gestore telefonico.
Servizi [Menu 8] Certificati [Menu 8-1-7] Viene visualizzato un elenco dei certificati di sicurezza disponibili. Reset dati [Menu 8-1-8] Reimposta i profili e le impostazioni Internet ai valori predefiniti. Info WAP [Menu 8-1-9] Viene visualizzata la versione del Browser WAP. Servizi SIM [Menu 8-2] Il vostro gestore telefonico può offrire ulteriori applicazioni tramite la scheda SIM.
Impostazioni [Menu 9] Premere il tasto Menu ( < ) e selezionare Impostazioni tramite i tasti di navigazione. Data & ora [Menu 9-1] Questa opzione consente di modificare la data e l’ora visualizzate. Grazie alla batteria di backup, il telefono è in grado di mantenere l’orario e la data anche se si scollega la batteria per qualche minuto. Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni. Imposta data [Menu 9-1-1] Inserire la data corrente.
Impostazioni [Menu 9] Chiamate [Menu 9-2] Contiene le impostazioni relative ai trasferimenti di chiamata, al modo risposta e così via. Trasferimento [Menu 9-2-1] Se questo servizio è attivato, è possibile indirizzare le chiamate su un altro numero come, ad esempio, quello della casella vocale. Per ulteriori informazioni, contattare il gestore di rete. Selezionare una delle opzioni di deviazione descritte qui di seguito a seconda delle proprie esigenze. Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni.
• Annulla: Annulla la deviazione di chiamata per l’opzione selezionata. • Visualizza stato: Controlla lo stato del servizio corrispondente. Elimina trasferimenti: Annulla tutti i servizi di deviazione di chiamata. Modo risposta [Menu 9-2-2] Selezionare la modalità desiderata per rispondere a una chiamata. • Folder attivo: Selezionando questa opzione si risponde alla chiamata in arrivo semplicemente aprendo il folder del telefono.
Impostazioni [Menu 9] Richiamo vocale [Menu 9-2-6] Il telefono integra un sistema di riconoscimento vocale per chiamare fino a 10 contatti in rubrica. Prima di utilizzare la funzione, è necessario associare al contatto desiderato la propria voce [Menu 4-1-4]. In questo menu si può scegliere se attivare la selezione vocale manualmente o in maniera automatica. Richiesta PIN [Menu 9-4-1] PIN è un’abbreviazione di Personal Identification Number utilizzato per impedire l’utilizzo del telefono da parte di persone non autorizzate. In questo menu, è possibile impostare il telefono in modo che chieda il codice PIN della scheda SIM quando viene acceso. Attenzione: Se si inserisce un codice PIN errato per più di 3 volte all’accensione del telefono, la SIM si blocca. Se il PIN è bloccato, necessario inserire il codice PUK.
Impostazioni [Menu 9] Sono disponibili le seguenti opzioni: • Accensione Quando si accende il telefono, verrà sempre richiesto il codice di sicurezza. • Se cambia SIM Il telefono richiederà il codice di sicurezza solo quando si cambia la scheda SIM. • Immediatamente Permette di bloccare immediatamente il telefono. Per attivare la funzione, verrà richiesto il codice di blocco. Se il telefono viene spento con il blocco attivato, rimarrá in tale stato anche alla successiva riaccensione.
• Elimina limitazioni: tutti i blocchi vengono disattivati; è possibile ricevere ed effettuare chiamate normalmente. • Cambia password: Utilizzare questa funzione per impostare e modificare la password di blocco delle chiamate fornita dal gestore di servizi. Prima di specificare una nuova password è necessario immettere quella corrente. Una volta immessa la nuova password viene richiesto di immetterla nuovamente per confermarla.
Impostazioni [Menu 9] • Disattiva: Disattiva la funzione FDN. • Elenco numeri: Mostra l’elenco dei numeri fissi FDN. È possibile aggiungere, modificare ed eliminare l’elenco FDN premendo il tasto funzione sinistro [Opzioni]. Nota • Non tutte le schede SIM hanno un codice PIN2. Se si perde la connessione alla rete selezionata manualment verrà richiesto di selezionare nuovamente una rete. La rete selezionata deve avere una accordo di roaming con la propria rete home, vale a dire il gestore a cui appartiene la scheda SIM presente nel telefono.

1.3 Mega pixel digital camera with DSC look The flexible LCD screen rotates ANTICLOCKWISE up to 180 degrees. It functions as a viewfinder, and enables you to take pictures with ease and pizzazz. When the clamshell is turned 180 degrees, you can use the main LCD screen as an external one. It’s almost a digital camera. Note • Do not rotate the LCD screen by force. Do not try to rotate the LCD screen clockwise.

Getting started Installing the SIM card and the handset battery Make sure the power is off before you remove the battery. 1. Remove the battery cover. Press the battery release latch and slide the battery cover toward the bottom of the phone. And remove the battery cover. 1 3 2 Note • Removing the battery from the phone when the power is on may cause the phone to malfunction. 2. Remove the battery. Hold the top edge of the battery and lift the battery from the battery compartment.
3. Install the SIM card. Insert the SIM card into the holder. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder. Make sure that the SIM card is inserted properly and that the gold contact area on the card is facing downwards. To remove the SIM card, press down lightly and pull it in the reverse direction. To insert the SIM card To remove the SIM card Note • The metal contact of the SIM card can be easily damaged by scratches. Pay special attention to the SIM card while handling.
Getting started 5. Replace the battery cover. Lay the battery cover in place of the phone and slide it until the latch clicks. Charging the battery Only use the mains adapter supplied with your phone. 1 2 1. With the battery in position on the phone, connect the lead from the mains adapter to the left side of the phone. Lift the charger connector lid off and turn it 180 degrees. Make sure that the arrow on the lead connector is facing towards the front of the phone.
Caution • Use of unauthorised accessories could damage your phone and invalidate your warranty. • Do not force the connector as this may damage the phone and/or the mains adapter. Note • “Charging” appears on the screen after connecting the mains adapter. If the battery is totally discharged, it may take a few minutes before this appears. Disconnecting the adapter 1. When charging is finished, the moving bars of the battery icon stop and ‘Full’ is displayed on the screen. 2.
Getting started Turning your phone on and off Turning your phone ON 1. Install a battery to the handset and connect the phone to an external power source such as the mains adapter, cigarette lighter adapter or hands-free car kit. Or install a charged battery pack to the handset. 2. Press E for a few seconds until the LCD screen is turned on. 3. Depending on the status of the PIN code request setting you may need to enter your PIN code. Turning your phone OFF 1.
PIN2 code (4 to 8 digits) The PIN2 code, supplied with some SIM cards, is required to access functions such as Advice of Call Charge and Fixed dial number. These functions are only available if supported by your SIM card. Check with your network for further information. PUK code (4 to 8 digits) The PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) code is required to change a blocked PIN code. The PUK code may be supplied with the SIM card. If not, contact your network operator for the code.
General functions Making and answering calls Making a call 1. Make sure your phone is switched on. 2. Enter a phone number, including the area code. To edit a number on the LCD screen, press the right/left navigation keys to move the cursor to the desired position or simply press the clear key (C) to erase one digit at a time. Press and hold the clear key (C) to erase the entire number. 3. Press the send key (S) to call the number. 4. To end the call, press the end key (E) or the right soft key.
Making a call from the phonebook You can save the names and phone numbers dialled regularly in the SIM card and/or phone memory, which is Phonebook. You can dial a number by simply looking up the desired name in the Phonebook. For further details on the Phonebook feature, please refer to page 56-60. Adjusting the volume If you want to adjust the earpiece volume during a call, use the side keys ( ) . Press the up side key to increase and down side key to decrease the volume.
General functions To reject an incoming call, press and hold one of the side keys on the left side of the phone without opening the phone. You can answer a call while using the Phonebook or other menu features. 2. To end the call, close the folder or press the E key. Manner mode (Quick) You can activate the manner mode by pressing and holding down the left navigation key (L) after opening the phone.
ABC mode This mode lets you enter letters by pressing the key labeled with the required letter once, twice, three times or more until the letter is displayed. 123 mode (Number mode) Type numbers using one keystroke per number. To change to 123 mode in a text entry field, press the # key until 123 mode is displayed. Changing the text input mode Write 1 918 En T9 Options Attach 1.
General functions – The word changes as letters are typed. Ignore what’s on the screen until the word is typed completely. – If the word is still incorrect after typing completely, press the down navigation key once or more to cycle through the other word options. Example • Press 4 6 6 3 to type Good. • Press 4 6 6 3 [Down navigation key] to type Home. – If the desired word is missing from the word choice list, add it using the ABC mode. – You can select the language of the T9 mode.
Using the ABC mode Use the 2 to 9 keys to enter your text. 1. Press the key labeled with the required letter: – Once for the first letter – Twice for the second letter – And so on 2. To insert a space, press the 0 key once. To delete letters, press the C key. Press and hold down the C key to clear the whole display. General functions Using the 123 (Number) mode The 123 mode enables you to enter numbers in a text message (a telephone number, for example). Press the keys corresponding to the required digits before manually switching back to the appropriate text entry mode. Phonebook You can store phone numbers and their corresponding names in the memory of your SIM card. In addition, you can store up to 255 numbers and names in the phone memory.
Answering an incoming call To answer an incoming call when the handset is ringing, simply press the S key. The handset is also able to warn you of an incoming call while you are already on a call. A tone sounds in the earpiece, and the display will show that a second call is waiting. This feature, known as Call waiting, is only available if your network supports it. For details of how to activate and deactivate it see Call waiting [Menu 9-2-4] on page 100.
General functions Multiparty or conference calls The multiparty or conference service provides you with the ability to have a simultaneous conversation with more than one caller, if your network operator supports this feature. A multiparty call can only be set up when you have one active call and one call on hold, both calls having been answered.
Adding calls to the conference call To add a call to an existing conference call, press the left soft key, then select the Conference / Join all. Displaying callers in a conference call To scroll through the numbers of the callers who make up a conference call on the handset screen, use the up/down navigation keys.

Selecting functions and options Your phone offers a set of functions that allow you to customise the phone. These functions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed via the two soft keys marked (<) and (>). Each menu and sub-menu lets you view and alter the settings of a particular function The roles of the soft keys vary according to the current context; the label on the bottom line of the screen just above each key indicates its current role.
Profiles [Menu 1] In Profiles, you can adjust and customise the phone tones for different events, environments, or caller groups. There are six preset profiles: Vibrate only, Silent, General, Loud, Headset and Car. Each profile can be personalised. Press the Menu key (<) and select Profiles using navigation keys. Changing the profile [Menu 1-x-1] 1. A list of profiles is displayed. 2. In the profile list, scroll to the profile you want to activate and press the left soft key [Select] or OK key. 3.
Profiles [Menu 1] • Message tone: Select the alert tone for messages. • Keypad tone: Select the desired keypad tone. • Keypad volume: Set the desired volume level of the keypad tone. • Effect sound volume: Set the desired volume level of effect sound. • Power on/off volume: Set the desired volume level of the ringing tone when switching the phone on/off. • Automatic answer: (only in Headset profile and Car profile) You can activate the automatic answer feature.
Call register [Menu 2] (Dependent on the network service) You can check the record of missed, received, and dialled calls only if the network supports Calling Line Identification (CLI) within the service area. The number and name (if available) are displayed together with the date and time at which the call was made. You can also view call times and costs. Press the Menu key (<) and select Call register using navigation keys. Missed calls [Menu 2-1] This option lets you view the last 10 unanswered calls.
Call register [Menu 2] (Dependent on the network service) Received calls [Menu 2-2] This option lets you view the last 10 incoming calls. After selecting a phone number, you can make a call to the number by pressing the send key (S). And using the left soft key [Options], the following options are available. • Write text message: You can send a text message to this number. • Write multimedia message: You can send a multimedia message to this number. • Edit: Edits the phonebook entry.
• Save (Shown if the name is not saved in the phonebook): Saves the number creating a new contact in the phonebook. • Add to name (Shown if the name is not saved in the phonebook): You can add the number to an existing phonebook entry. • Delete: Deletes the call from the list. • View details: Displays the call information. Note • You can delete all the call records from the list using the Delete recent calls menu [Menu 2-4].
Call register [Menu 2] (Dependent on the network service) Notice • The actual time invoiced for calls by your service provider may vary, depending on network features, rounding-off for billing, etc. Call costs [Menu 2-6] This network service allows you to check the last call cost and the total call cost. The call cost is displayed on the bottom of the LCD screen. To reset the call cost, press the left soft key [Reset] or the OK key.
Note • When all units have been used, no calls can be made except emergency calls. Depending on the SIM card, you need the PIN2 code to set a call cost limit. • Auto display: This network service allows you to see automatically the cost of your last call. If you select On in Auto display menu, you can see the cost of the last call when the call is released. GPRS information [Menu 2-8] You can check the amount of data transferred over the network through the GPRS information option.
Tools [Menu 3] Press the Menu key (<) and select Tools using navigation keys. My stuff [Menu 3-1] My stuff is organised into 4 folders: Picture, Video, Animation, and Sound. The downloaded contents through WAP, MMS or EMS are stored in each folder. You can view, delete or control the downloaded contents. Picture [Menu 3-1-1] Using the left soft key [Options], you can send a picture via SMS or MMS, set it as a wallpaper, rename or delete it.

Tools [Menu 3] Favorite [Menu 3-2] In this menu, you can construct your own menu with the frequently used menus for easy access. In standby mode, you can access the Favorite menu by pressing the down navigation key (D). 1. After selecting the desired location from the menu number 1 to 9, press the left soft key [Add]. 2. Select the menu you wish to add by pressing the left soft key [Select]. The menu is added in the Favorite menu, with the pop-up message, “Activated”. Note • You can add up to 9 menus.
Unit converter [Menu 3-3] This converts any measurement from one unit to another. There are 4 types that can be converted into units: Length, Surface, Weight and Volume. 1. Select one of four unit types by pressing the left soft key [Unit]. 2. Move to the Current unit section by pressing the down navigation key. 3. Select the unit you want to convert using the left/right navigation keys. 4. Move to the Convert unit section by pressing the down navigation key. 5.
Tools [Menu 3] Calculator [Menu 3-4] Using this feature, you can use the phone as a calculator. The calculator provides the basic arithmetic functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Using the calculator 1. Enter the first number using the numeric keys. 2. Press the corresponding navigation key to select a mathematical function. Tools [Menu 3] Activate IrDA [Menu 3-7] This feature allows you to send or receive data/fax through the infrared port. To use an infrared connection: • Install the modem driver for receiving or sending the data/fax. • Install the network dial-up software supplied by your network provider or fax application program for a fax call on your PC. • Configure and activate an IrDA-compliant infrared port on your PC. • Activate the infrared feature on the phone; the on the right side at the bottom of the display.
Note • PC Sync is a program for data exchange between PC and the phone by a data cable. Therefore, if you want to use this function, you need the accessory kit. For more information, you can use the PC Sync Help file on the CD. • With this IrDA feature, you can transfer anything you want such as phonebook entries, messages, pictures, video clips, MP3 files, etc.
Organiser [Menu 4] Press the Menu key (<). Select Organiser using navigation keys. Phonebook [Menu 4-1] You can save phone numbers and their corresponding names in the memory of your SIM card. In addition, you can save up to 255 numbers and names in the phone memory. Press the left soft key [Menu] in standby mode, then select Organiser ➝ Phonebook. Or, press the right soft key [Names] in standby mode. Search [Menu 4-1-1] 1. In standby mode, press right soft key [Names]. Select Search. 2.
Add new [Menu 4-1-2] You can add a phonebook entry using this function. There are 2 memories: Phone memory and SIM memory. To select the memory, go to Set memory [Menu 4-1-8]. The phone memory capacity is 255 entries. You can enter up to 20 characters in each name in the phone memory. The SIM card memory capacity depends on the SIM card. 1. Open the Phonebook first by pressing the right soft key [Names] in standby mode. 2. Scroll to highlight Add new, and press [OK] 3.
Organiser [Menu 4] Speed dials [Menu 4-1-3] You can assign any of the keys 2 to 9 with a name list entry. You can call directly by pressing this key for 2-3 seconds. 1. Open the Phonebook first by pressing the right soft key [Names] in standby mode. 2. Scroll to Speed dials, then press [OK]. 3. To add a number to Speed dials, press the left soft key [Add]. Search the name through the phonebook. 4.
Caller groups [Menu 4-1-5] There are 6 pre-defined groups, as well as one additional group labeled Others, where you can create lists. 1. Select Caller groups. Every group list will be displayed: Family, VIP, Friends, Colleague, Group 1, Group 2, and Others. 2. Select the group name that you want to manage by pressing the left soft key [Options]. The following submenus will be displayed except for Others. • Add member: Add a member to the group. • Member list: Displays the member list in the group.
Organiser [Menu 4] Delete all [Menu 4-1-7] You can delete all entries in the SIM, Phone, and Voice list. Except for Voice list, this function requires the security code. Press E to return to standby mode. Set memory [Menu 4-1-8] You can select the memory for the Phonebook feature between the SIM and the phone. If you select Variable, when adding entry, the phone will ask where to save the number.
4. Alarm melody: Select the desired alarm melody using the left/right navigation key. 5. Press the left soft key [Set] or the OK key. When the alarm function is activated, is shown in standby mode. When the alarm time is reached, it sounds the alarm melody. To turn off the alarm, press the right soft key [Quit]. Scheduler [Menu 4-3] When you enter this menu, a calendar appears. A square cursor is located on the current date. You can move the cursor to another date using navigation keys.
Organiser [Menu 4] After a schedule is entered on a date, the date is shown in a different colour and appears on the right bottom of the screen. This function reminds you of your schedule. The phone will sound an alarm tone if you set the phone to do so. The following options are available. Add new: You can edit a maximum of 40 characters and take up to 30 notes. View all schedules: Shows the notes that are set for all days. Use the up/down navigation keys to browse through the note lists.
Memo [Menu 4-4] Add new [Menu 4-4-1] Use this to add a new memo. The phone can store up to 20 memos and 60 characters for each memo. Input the memo and then press the left soft key [Options]. • Save: Allows you to save the memo. • T9 languages: Select the T9 language to use in the memo. • Exit editor: Allows you to exit from the memo editor. View list [Menu 4-4-2] Select this menu to check the memos you've taken. 1. Select a memo. 2. Press the left soft key [Select]. Note • The selected memo is opened.
Messages [Menu 5] Press the Menu key (<) and select Messages using navigation keys. Text messages [Menu 5-1] Your phone receives voice mail notification messages and Short Message Service (SMS) messages. Voice mail and SMS are network services. Please contact your network operator for more information. When the icon appears, you have received voice mail. When the icon appears, you have received a new text message.
• Save to draft: Allows you to save the message so that it can be sent later. • T9 languages: Select the language for T9 input mode. You can also deactivate T9 input mode by selecting ‘T9 off ’. For further details on the T9 mode, refer to page 30 through 32. • Clear text: Erases the whole text. • Exit editor: Allows you to exit from the Write menu. 3. Messages [Menu 5] Inbox [Menu 5-1-2] Received text messages and page messages can be searched and the contents can be viewed. Received messages are displayed in date order. Press the menu key and select Messages ➝ Text message ➝ Inbox. Or, you can take a shortcut by pressing the right navigation key ( R ) in standby mode.
Each received message has the following options available. Press the left soft key [Options]. • Reply: Replies to the received message. • Forward: Forwards a received message to other recipients. • Return call: Calls the sender’s phone. • Extract: Extracts a picture, sound, text web page or email address from the message. These will be saved in My folder, Phonebook, or bookmarks. • Delete: Deletes the selected message from the Inbox.
Messages [Menu 5] Settings [Menu 5-1-5] This menu lets you set up the default SMS information. • Message types: Sets the default message type (Text, Voice, Fax, Paging, X.400, E-mail, and ERMES). The network can convert the messages into the selected format. • Validity period: Sets the length of time for which your text messages will be saved at the SMS center while attempts are made to deliver them to the recipient.
Write [Menu 5-2-1] 1. Key in the text message. Using the right soft key, you can input symbols, numbers and emoticons, or select the text input mode. After the text message input, press the left soft key [Done]. 2. Add an image and/or sound. You can move to the next section using the up/down navigation. 3. You can add a slide by moving the cursor on , then pressing the OK key or the left soft key [Select]. You can also add a slide using the right soft key [Menu]. Note • Up to 9 slides are affordable. 4.

The following options are available. • Message title: Enter the message title. • Slide duration: Set the duration of each slide. • Alignment: Select where to align the image. • Valid period: Set the duration for keeping messages on the network server. • Auto download - On: If you select this, messages are downloaded automatically on receipt. - Confirm: Requires you to confirm you want to download the message.
Messages [Menu 5] Listen to voice messages [Menu 5-3-1] Once this option has been selected, simply press the left soft key [OK] to listen to voice messages. You can also hold down the 1 key in standby mode to listen to voice messages. Voice mail centre [Menu 5-3-2] You can input and set the voice mailbox centre. Info service [Menu 5-4] Info service messages are text messages sent by the network to mobile phone users.
Alert [Menu 5-4-4] Set alert On or Off for a new broadcast message. Auto display [Menu 5-4-5] If you select this option On, all received broadcast messages will be automatically displayed. Languages [Menu 5-4-6] (Dependent to network and subscription) This option lets you select the preferred languages. Cell broadcast messages will be displayed in the selected language. If you use all the languages supported by the phone, select Automatic at the end of the list.
Messages [Menu 5] The following options are available. • Edit: Use this to write a new message or edit the selected template message from the text template list. • Delete: Deletes the selected template message from the text template list. • Send via text message: Use this to send the selected template message by SMS. • Send via multimedia message: Use this to send the selected template message by MMS. • Add new: Use this to create a new template.
Name card [Menu 5-6] This option helps you to make your own name card. 1. Press the left soft key [Add]. 2. Key in the name, mobile phone number, office number, Fax number, and E-mail address. 3. Press the left soft key [Save]. With the name card, the following options are available. • Edit: Use this to edit the name card. • Delete: Use this to delete the name card. • Send via text message: Use this to send the name card by SMS.
Camera [Menu 6] T5100 has a 1.3 Mega pixel digital camera which allows you to take pictures at a maximum resolution 1280x960 pixels (also known as SXGA). The CMOS sensor guarantees high definition and quality of the images. Taking pictures will be more fun thanks to the additional functions such as the 4x Zoom (depending on the resolution), Brightness control, White balancing and Colour effects. And the integrated flash allows you to take pictures even when light conditions are poor.
Take pictures [Menu 6-1] Press the Menu key and select Camera ➝ Take pictures. Or, press the camera hot key (Q or q) longer than 2 seconds in standby mode. You can see the viewfinder. Before taking a shot, press the left soft key [Menu] to set the following values. ➀ Brightness: 6 grades are available. Brightness ➁ White Balance: 5 settings are available: Auto, Daylight, Incandescent, Cloudy, and Flourescent. ➂ Resolution: Refer to the page 81 for further information.
Camera [Menu 6] You can also use the following keys before taking a shot. ➂ ➁ ➀ Selected resolution ➀ Zooming bar: You can zoom in/out using the up/down navigation keys (U , D) or up/down side keys. And this bar shows the zooming state. The maximum zoom scale depends on the image size as follows. SXGA(1x) / VGA(4x) / QVGA(4x) / Panorama(1x) ➁ Self timer: To activate/deactivate the self-timer, press *. When the self-timer is activated, is shown.
3. Select the Single Shot mode ( ). Note • In the Single shot mode, you can select the resolution from QVGA (320X240), VGA (640X480), SXGA (1280X960), and Panorama (1280X640). 4. Camera [Menu 6] Take movies [Menu 6-2] You can record the video up to 30 minutes. But it depends on the resolution, the available memory capacity, and the quantity of data to be compressed. Press the Menu key and select Camera ➝ Take movies. You can record a video clip in this menu by pressing the Camera key (Q). 1. Before shooting, you can set the desired shooting values by pressing the left soft key [Menu]. Brightness ➀➁➂➃ ➄ ➀ Brightness: 6 grades are available.
Frame shot [Menu 6-3] Press the Menu key and select Camera ➝ Frame shot. You can enjoy taking a shot in diverse preset frames. There are 15 preset frames. 1. To select the desired frame to take a shot in, press the left soft key [Menu]. 2. Highlight the Frame( press the OK key. ) using left/right navigation keys and 3. After selecting the desired frame, press the OK key. 4. After exiting from the option menu by selecting Exit ( ), take a shot by pressing the Camera key.
Camera [Menu 6] Note • For details, refer to Multimedia messages – Write on page 69. • Because of the big size, the pictures of which resolution is SXGA cannot be sent via MMS. The phone will ask if you want to resize the picture in order to send it via MMS. • Add to phonebook: You can add the selected image to a phonebook contact to use the Photo Caller ID feature. • Slide show: Plays back every image in succession. To pause/ resume the slide show, press the left soft key.

Camera [Menu 6] • Play: Plays the selected video clip. • File protect: You can lock/unlock the selected video clip by selecting this. When a video clip is locked, “ ” is shown on the left of the video clip name. • Rename: You can change the title of the selected video clip. • Delete: Deletes the selected video clip. • Multiple delete: You can delete several video clips at a time. Select the video clips to delete through the list by pressing the OK key, then press the left soft key [Delete].
Camera settings [Menu 6-6] Press the Menu key and select Camera ➝ Camera settings. In this menu, you can set the following options. 1. Image quality: Select the desired image quality to be captured. The higher image quality, the more memories are used. 2. Shutter sound: Select the desired shutter sound. 3. Gallery style: Select the desired My photo gallery style between List view and Multi view. 4. Timer mode: Select the desired delay time when activating the self-timer. 5.
Multimedia [Menu 7] MP3 player [Menu 7-1] The T5100 has an integrated MP3 player built-in. You can enjoy listening to MP3 music files on a memory in your phone using a compatible headset or via the internal loudspeaker. Note • Because of the small dimension of the speaker, in some cases the audio could be distorted, especially at maximum volume and when there are lots of bass sounds. Therefore, we recommend you to use the stereo headset in order to appreciate the high quality of your music.
Note • The PC should run Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP operating system. • Besides downloading the MP3 files to the phone, you can upload the pictures and movies taken on the phone to the PC using the USB cable. To download the ring tones, wallpaper, or Java games, the serial cable is required. And you can also manage the phonebook, scheduler, and message box on the PC with the serial cable. Consult with the authorised dealer for availability of accessories.
Multimedia [Menu 7] Note • Once MP3 play has been started, closing the phone or opening the phone doesn’t affect the MP3 playback. You can turn off the MP3 player by pressing the End key (E) when the phone is open. And when the phone is closed, you can turn off the player by pressing and holding down the MP3 player key (m) on the right side of the phone. Key operations in the MP3 player You can use the following shortcut keys in the MP3 track list. To play back/pause Press the O.
Note Playing MP3 files without opening the phone MP3 player key You can activate the MP3 player in the phone closed state. Press the MP3 player key (m) on the right side of the phone. It launches playing back. To skip to the next track, press the MP3 player key (m). To stop playback, press and hold down the MP3 player key (m). To adjust the volume, use the side keys ([) on the left side of the phone. Game [Menu 7-2] You can enjoy a game on the phone.
Multimedia [Menu 7] Note • The JAR file is a compressed format of the Java program and the JAD file is a description file that includes all detailed information. From the network, prior to download, you can view all detailed file descriptions from the JAD file. Warning • Only J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) based programs will run in a phone environment. The J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) based programs will only run in a PC environment.
Download [Menu 7-3-2] When a new Java program is downloaded using the WAP, the address from which a download takes place is known as a bookmark. The Java menu includes a bookmark list for downloading Java programs and this bookmark list can be viewed from the Download menu. You can connect, view, edit, delete, and add new bookmarks. • Connect: Selected address in the bookmark is used for data connection. After successful connection, desired Java program can be downloaded from the list.
Multimedia [Menu 7] Note • After selecting the Connect function to access the Java MIDlet Provider’s server, you may choose one of many Java programs to download and install into your phone. Once connected to the server, the Go button can be pressed to view the JAD information on a desired program. The Get button will begin the download and install process. The download and install process will take place simultaneously and once download is complete you can immediately run the Java program.
Service [Menu 8] Press the Menu key ( < ) and select Service using navigation keys. Internet [Menu 8-1] You can access various WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) services such as banking, news, weather reports and flight information. These services are specially designed for mobile phones and they are maintained by WAP service providers. Check the availability of WAP services, pricing and tariffs with your network operator and/or the service provider whose service you wish to use.

Service [Menu 8] Profiles [Menu 8-1-4] For more information, consult your network operator. Each profile has submenus as follows: • Activate: Activates the selected profile. • Settings: Use this to edit and change WAP settings for the selected profile. • Rename: You can change the selected profile’s name. • Delete: Deletes the selected profile from the list. • Add new: You can add a new profile Note • The changes using these options may affect the MMS function.
Security certificates [Menu 8-1-7] A list of the available certificates is shown. Reset profiles [Menu 8-1-8] You can reset profiles to return to original settings. WAP information [Menu 8-1-9] The WAP browser version is displayed. SIM service [Menu 8-2] Your service provider can offer special application through SIM card, such as home banking, stock market, etc. If you are registered for one of these services, the service name will appear at the end of the main menu.
Settings [Menu 9] Press the Menu key ( < ) and select Settings using navigation keys. Date & Time [Menu 9-1] This option lets you change the current time and date displayed. The following options are available. Set date [Menu 9-1-1] Use this to enter the day, month and year. You can change the date format via the Date format menu option. Date format [Menu 9-1-2] YYYY/MM/DD (year/month/day) DD/MM/YYYY (day/month/year) MM/DD/YYYY (month/day/year) Set time [Menu 9-1-3] Use this to enter the current time.
Call settings [Menu 9-2] To set the options related to calls. Call divert [Menu 9-2-1] When this network service is activated, you can direct your incoming calls to another number, for example, to your voice mailbox number. For details, contact your network operator. Select one of the divert options, for example, select If busy to divert voice calls when your number is busy or when you reject incoming calls. The following options are available. All voice calls: Diverts all voice calls unconditionally.
Settings [Menu 9] • Cancel: Cancels the selected call divert. • View status: You can check the status of the service. Cancel all: Cancels all call divert settings. Answer mode [Menu 9-2-2] Select the desired mode to answer a call. • Flip open: When the phone rings, you can answer a call simply by opening the folder. • Any key: When the phone rings, you can answer a call by pressing any key except the E key and the right soft key (>). • Only send key: You can answer a call only by pressing the send key.
Minute minder [Menu 9-2-5] When set to On, the phone will beep every minute during an outgoing call to keep you informed of the length of the call. Voice dial [Menu 9-2-6] You can make a phone call by speaking a voice tag that has been added to a contact card. Any spoken word(s) can be a voice tag. Before using voice-activated dialling, note that: • Voice tags are not language dependent. They are dependent on the speaker’s voice. • Voice tags are sensitive to background noise.
Settings [Menu 9] Auto redial [Menu 9-2-7] Select On, and your phone will make a maximum of five attempts to connect the call after an unsuccessful call attempt. Closed user group [Menu 9-2-8] This is a network service that specifies the group of people who you can call and who can call you. For more information, contact your network operator or service provider. If a group index is specified, it is used for all outgoing calls. If no group index is specified, the network will use the preferential index.
Backlight [Menu 9-3-2] Use this to select whether or not the phone uses the backlight. A small increase in standby/talk time can be achieved by turning the backlight off. Menu colour [Menu 9-3-3] Your phone provides you with 4 menu colour themes. Set the menu colour by scrolling and pressing the left soft key [Select]. Font setting [Menu 9-3-4] Select the desired font. Greeting note [Menu 9-3-5] To enter a greeting note, select On. And input a greeting note using the keypad.
Settings [Menu 9] Security settings [Menu 9-4] Various passwords are used to protect certain features of your phone. Refer to page 26-27 for the various passwords. PIN code request [Menu 9-4-1] When the PIN code request feature is enabled, you must enter your PIN each time you switch the phone on. Consequently, any person who does not have your PIN cannot use your phone without your approval. Note • Before disabling the PIN code request feature, you must enter your PIN.
Call barring service [Menu 9-4-3] (Network dependent) Call barring lets you restrict the making and receiving of calls with your phone. For this function, you need the barring password, which you can obtain from your service provider. The following options are available: • All outgoing: No call can be made. • Outgoing international: International calls cannot be made.
Settings [Menu 9] Fixed dial number (FDN) [Menu 9-4-4] (SIM dependent) Use this to restrict your outgoing calls to selected phone numbers, if this function is supported by your SIM card. The PIN2 code is required. When FDN is activated, if you try to dial a number not included in the FDN list, the message “Check FDN” will appear. The following options are available: • Enable: Use this to only call phone numbers saved in the phonebook. You must enter your PIN2 code. • Disable: Allows you to call any number.
Network settings [Menu 9-5] The Network settings feature enables you to indicate whether the network used when roaming (outside your home area) is selected: Automatic, Manual, Preferred. Note • You can select a network other than your home network only if it has a valid roaming agreement with your home network. GPRS settings [Menu 9-6] GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a technology that allows mobile phones to be used for sending and receiving data over the mobile network.
