Ice maker
Safety instructions and warnings
• The ice maker is designed exclusively to make ice cubes in
quantitiesrequiredbyahouseholdandmayonlybeoperated
withwatersuitableforthispurpose.
• Allrepairsandworkontheicemakermayonlybecarriedoutby
customerservicepersonnelorothertrainedpersonnel.
• The first three batches of ice must not be consumed or
used. This applies both to using the appliance for the first
time and also to using it after it has not been used for a
lengthy period of time.
This ensures that the water supply
is purged.
• The manufacturer cannot accept liability for damage caused
by a faulty connection to the mains water supply.
• Theicemakerwillonlyworkifthecombinedrefrigerator-freezer
isconnectedtotheelectricitysupply.Itwillonlymakeicecubes
ifthefreezercompartmentisoperating.
• Ensure that the drawer is fully closed, as the ice maker can
otherwisenotproduceicecubes.
Notes on freezing and storage
• Alwaysstoreidenticalfooditemstogether.
• Packfoodwhichyouarefreezingyourselfinquantitiesappropriate
toyourhousehold.Toensurethatthefoodfreezesrightthrough,
thefollowingquantitiesshouldnotbeexceededperpackage:
fruit,vegetables:upto1kg,meat:upto2.5kg.
• Packfrozenfoodinstandardfreezerbagsorreuseableplastic,
metaloraluminiumcontainers.
• Donotallowfreshfoodwhichistobefrozentocomeintocontact
withfoodalreadyfrozen.Alwayskeeppacksdryinordertoavoid
themstickingtogether.
• A l way s w r i t e t h e d a t e a n d c o n t e nt s o n t h e p a c ka n d d o n o t ex c e e d
thestatedstoragetimeforthefood.
• Donotfreezebottlesandcanswhichcontaincarbonateddrinks
astheymightburst.
• Onlytakeoutasmuchfoodasisimmediatelyrequiredforthawing.
Usefoodwhichhasbeenthawedinpreparedmealsasquickly
aspossible.
Frozen food can be thawed in the following ways:
–inafanoven,
–inamicrowaveoven,
–atroomtemperature,
–intherefrigerator:thecoldgivenoffbythefrozenfoodisused
forcooling.
Freezing
Freshfoodshouldbefrozentothecoreasrapidlyaspossible.
Frozenfoodcanalsobegivenacoldboost.Thisisprovidedby
theSuperFrostfacility.
The maximum amount of food (in
kg)whichcanbefrozenin24hours
isshownonthetypeplate("Freez-
ing capacity"). This amount varies
accordingtothemodelandclimate
rating.

Bothdrawerscanbeusedforfreezingoffoodorstorageoffrozen
food.
Theicecubebinintheupperdrawerisintendedforicecubesonly.
Ifyouneedthewholeupperdrawerforfreezingorstorage,theice
cubebincanberemoved.
Important:Theicemakerwillnotejecttheicecubesofitstrayif
thebinhasbeenremoved.
Freezing with SuperFrost
TouchtheSuperFrosticon brieysothatthe LEDcomes
on.
• ForsmallamountsoffrozenfoodswitchonSuperFrost6hours
beforehand.Forthemaximumamount(seefreezingcapacityon
thetypeplate)youwillneedtoswitchiton24hoursbeforehand.
• Thenplacethefreshfoodinsidethefreezer.
- TheSuperFrostfunctionswitchesoff automatically.Depending
onthequantityoffoodplacedinthefreezer,thiswillnormally
bebetween30andmax.65hours.Thefreezingprocessisnow
complete,theSuperFrost LED will go out.
You should not switch on the SuperFrost func tion:
- whenplacingfrozenfoodinthefreezer;
- whenfreezinguptoapprox.2kgfreshfooddaily.
