Conditions for Triggering Air Bag
Conditions for triggering air bag are designed
as follows: Air bag system will be triggere d in
case of a frontal crash to cert ain extent; air
bag system may be tri ggered in case of
a special crash.
Generally, the air bag system will not be
tri ggered in case of a slight fro ntal crash and
side impact, or bump against the rear part
of th e vehicle, or overtu rn of th e vehicle.
Under such circumsta nces, dri ver and
passenger can be pro te cted by th eir safe ty
belts .
Decisive factor fo r trig gerin g air bag syste m:
Give an overall intelligent comparis on between
the set value and decelera ti on curve pro duced
in a cra sh and re quired by ECU and th en make
a judgement. The air bag will not be trig gere d
if the produced and detected decelerati on signal
is below th e re late d re fe re nti al set value in th e
ECU, alth ough the vehicle may have been
disto rte d serio usly in the cra sh.

The Situations That Air Bag Will Not Explode
Air bag may not be tri ggered in the
above three situations.
The deployment of air bag can be fi nished
in a fra cti on of a second. Thus th e air bag
can provide pro tecti on fo r driv er and
passenger in case of an accident.
Deployment of air bag will cause a large noise,
but it will not cause injury to people in most
cases (t he possibility of tinnitus or te mporary
heari ng loss is not excluded. However, this
phenomenon will disappear quickly). The air,
produced by th e deployment of air bag, may
have an odor and will affe ct your appeti te , but
it will not cause to xicosis. In the process of
charg ing air, the air bag will give out a bit of
smoke, which is a norm al phenomenon.
