Addendum for Installation of LifeProof LVT with Zamma Flush Mount Stair Nose
Important Safety Notice: When installing LifeProof ooring on staircases, both the stair treads and risers should be permanently bonded using a
recommended Roberts adhesive. Under no circumstances should LifeProof be installed on steps or risers without being fully bonded as this may
result in an unsafe condition.
NOTE: Do NOT use an overlap stair nose molding on staircases or individual stair treads.
Preparation: Stair treads and risers must be structurally sound, dry, clean, at, smooth and free from contaminants (refer to adhesive instructions
for full details). Cut o any existing protruding bullnose ush with the riser of the stair to create a 90-degree step. For steps with a protruding square
nose, it is possible to build out the riser with plywood to create a 90-degree step. Note: Before proceeding, check to make sure that changing the
dimension does not violate local building codes.
Recommended Adhesives:
Roberts 1407 Rapid Repair Adhesive
Roberts 7350 Universal Adhesive
Roberts 2350 Hard-Set Adhesive
Installation: Note: The use of a stair jig measuring tool isn’t required but recommended.
1. Beginning at the bottom riser, measure and cut piece to t ush with the top of the existing stair tread.
2. Fully bond in place using one of the recommended adhesives noted above. Ensure that you follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Position into place and apply pressure using a hand roller.
4. Measure and cut stair nose to length.
5. Dry t the stair nose to the edge of the rst tread with the molding nose overlapping the newly attached LifeProof riser. Measure the distance
from the edge of the stair nose to the next riser.
6. Measure and cut to width and length another piece of LifeProof for the stair tread. The tongue side of the LifeProof ooring will need to be
trimmed o to allow the ooring to be ush with the stair nose.
7. Apply recommended adhesive to the entire tread per manufacturer’s directions. Ax stair nose to tread by setting into the adhesive. For
wood staircases it is recommended to adhere and mechanically fasten stair nose. Drill appropriate size holes into the installed stair nose and
anchor with 6d nish nails. Set nails below the nish surface using a nail punch. Fill holes with a matching color repair stick. Install LifeProof
onto stair tread and apply pressure using a hand roller.
8. Be sure that pieces are joined together tight and ush. Remove excess adhesive.
9. Repeat steps 1–8 until the installation is complete.
10. Allow 24 hours of curing time before exposing stairs to trac.
