from it
*It is actually only necessary to turn on the MIDI In “Remote” option to allow Live to receive MIDI
controller data from the selected device. However, to allow Live to receive MIDI into a MIDI track
you do need to turn on the “Track” option. You need MIDI track input to utilize KB37 as a keyboard
controller, and/or to route MIDI control data directly to POD Farm 2 Plug-In.
With Ableton Live now congured to receive MIDI from your external MIDI controller device, you
can start working in your project.
Configure your DAW software to receive MIDI from your connected MIDI controller device to feed
it to the audio track where POD Farm 2 Plug-In is inserted. This is typically accomplished by setting
up a MIDI track to receive from your MIDI device and its Output to the audio track & Plug-In. Please
see “How to route a MIDI external controller to POD Farm 2 Plug-In” on page 8•13 for an example.
Take Control - With your MIDI controller device and DAW congured, you can now take advantage
of the “pre-congured” MIDI assignments within the POD Farm 2 Tone Presets, or the POD Farm 2
MIDI Learn functionality to create your own customized MIDI assignments (see page 4•38).
MIDI Assignments View Display
To reference all MIDI control assignments that exist for the currently loaded POD Farm 2 Tone Preset,
go to the MIDI Assignments View (by way of the “Assignments View” button on the Main Control
Bar). This display will show you all the MIDI command settings required to access the current MIDI
assignments within each Tone. This information allows you to manually congure the settings on your
MIDI controller device to match and access these existing MIDI assignments. If using the POD Farm
2 “MIDI Learn” feature, you’ll see your assignments added here as you create them as well.
