NOTE:WhenscrollingthroughtheAmpModels,you’llseethatwe’vealso
includeda completesetof“Preamp”versionsofeachAmpaswell.You
can choose one of these to obtain the tone of just the preamp stage of the
amp.ThiscanbeveryusefulifyouwanttorunyourPODHD500output
intoan externalamplier.Deep editingparameters arenotapplicableto
thePreampModels.
FX Blocks
ForeachPresetthere are alwaysatotalof 8 FX Blocks,eachcapableof
loadinganyFX Modelsorthe FXLoop.When intheSignal FlowView
screen, select any FX Block and you’ll see options at the bottom of the
screen,adjustableusingtheMulti-Function Knobs 1-4. Fromthe
Signal
Flow ViewwithanFXBlockselectedKnob 1 - SelectfromamongtheFX
Model categories - Dynamics, Distortion, Modulation, Filter, Pitch, EQ,
Delay,Reverb,Vol/Pan,Wah,FXLoop,ornone.
Knob 2 - Choose the
desiredModelfromtheModelTypelist.
Knob 3 - Choose from up to 5 ad-
justableparametersfortheselectedFXModel.Alternatively,double-press
the
ENTERbuttontodisplaytheEditModescreen,whereallparameters
aresimultaneouslyviewablefortheselectedFXModel.
Knob 4 - Adjusts
the value for the currently selected parameter.
EachFXBlockalsooffersthefollowingfeatures:
On/Off:ToggletheFX
Block “On” or “Off” by pressing the
ENTER button once. Your signal
will still flow through the effect, but will not be processed by it.
Move FX
Position:TomoveanyFXBlock,startwithintheSignalFlowViewand
selecttheFXBlocktobemoved.Pressthe
MOVEbuttonandyou’llseethe
selectedFXBlockappear“raised”toindicateitisnowmoveable.Usethe
4 Way Nav Pad tomovetheFXBlocktothedesiredposition.Oncethe
FXBlockisinthedesiredPosition,presstheMOVEbuttonagaintodrop
it into place.
FX Loop
YoucanselecttoloadtheFXLoopinanyofthe8FXblocks.Thisallows
you to position the POD HD500 hardware FX Loop anywhere you like
withinthecurrentPreset’ssignalpath.
JustaswithFX,youcanaccessoptionsfortheFXLoopatthebottomofthe
SignalFlowView,orintheEditModescreen.YoucanalsotoggletheFX
Loop “On” or “Off” by pressing the
ENTER button once.
Mixer Block
TheMixerispermanentlypositionedattheendoftheparallelPathsA&
Band providesindividualLevelandPancontrolsforeachPaths’output
beforefedtothe“Post”position.WhentheMixerisselectedintheSignal
FlowView,its fourparameters areavailableatthebottomofthescreen,
accessibleusingtheMulti-functionKnobs1-4.
Knob 1 - Volume A controls
thevolumelevelofthePathAoutput.0dBisunitygain.
Knob 2 - Volume
B controlsthevolumelevelofthePathBoutput.0dBisunitygain.Knob
3 - Pan Aadjuststheleft/rightstereobalanceofthePathAoutput.Knob
4 - Pan Badjuststheleft/rightstereobalanceofthePathBoutput.
Note: Changes to the mixer levels can affect the way any effects and amp
models are "driven" when placed before them in your signal chain. For
example, turning up the mixer in front of an amp model may cause the
amp's distortion characteristic to change...a testament to the authentic
behavior of our amp models.
Expression Pedal Assignment
PODHD500includestwoPedalModes,EXP 1 and EXP 2, each of which
canbeassignedtoanyFXModelparameter,orevenanFXLoopparameter.
The
EXP 1 and EXP 2PedalModescaneachbeassignedtocontrolinde-
pendentFXparameters.The“on-board”Pedalcanswitchbetweeneither
the
EXP 1 or EXP 2PedalModes.Clickthe"toeswitch"totogglebetween
EXP 1 and EXP 2. WhenanExpressionPedalisconnectedtothePEDAL
2inputonthebackofPODHD500itcontrolsEXP 2.
