POD Studio and TonePort (UX8, UX2, KB37) - Use the MIDI Control Settings dialog,
accessible from the MIDI tab of the Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices utility, to congure the MIDI
commands transmitted by these devices (found in the System Preferences on Mac
®
, and in the
Control Panel on Windows
®
). Please see the POD Studio & TonePort MIDI Setup Guide for
details.
POD X3 (Pro and Live) and PODxt - These devices were not really designed to be full-featured
MIDI controllers. But most parameters’ adjustments on these devices result in a unique, “xed”
MIDI command being fed to their 5-pin MIDI Out. This allows you to control most POD Farm 2
parameters with the help of the POD Farm 2 MIDI Learn feature to congure MIDI assignments!
Please see the Line 6 MIDI CC Reference Guide for info on what specic MIDI commands
these devices transmit.
Ableton Live MIDI Input Device Configuration
To follow, we’ve provided a brief tutorial using the popular Ableton Live
®
DAW application for
conguring an external MIDI controller device to access the parameters within POD Farm 2 Plug-In.
Here we’re using a Line 6 KB37 as our MIDI device, since it includes the on-board Expression Pedal
and Footswitch features that can send MIDI control commands to the Live software. The steps are
similar using other MIDI controller devices and DAW applications, so this should serve as a good
introduction.
With your MIDI device connected to your computer, launch the Ableton Live software, and go to:
Mac
®
- Ableton Live > Preferences > MIDI/Sync page
Windows
®
- Options > Preferences > MIDI/Sync page
Here you will see that Ableton Live automatically detects your Line 6 device’s MIDI ports. You might
see additional devices’ MIDI Ports appear here as well, depending what other MIDI hardware/software
you have installed on your computer.

applications, please be sure to grab the POD Farm 2 Recording Setup Guide - available for download
