How to Save a Tone
Once you’ve edited a Tone preset, or created a new one, you’ll of course need to Save it on your
computer as an “.l6t” le to be able to recall it again later in POD Farm 2 standalone or Plug-In.
The settings saved in a Tone preset are; Your Guitar or Bass Amp & Cab, Preamp, and Effect Model
selections with their current settings, the current Mixer View settings, MIDI Control assignments,
Automation assignments (Plug-In only), the Single versus Dual Tone conguration, as well as any data
in the Text Info dialog for the Tone. If a Tone name is shown followed by an asterisk within the Tone
Preset menu, this tells you that the Tone Preset has been altered versus the saved version.
Click on the little folder Icon at the left of the Preset menu and choose Save to overwrite the current
Tone preset with your changes. Or, choose Save As to leave the current Tone preset as it was, and save
the new setting you’ve created as a unique, new Tone preset.
Note: If you are using POD Farm 2 in standalone operation, you can also choose the Save and Save
As commands form the application’s File menu.
Upgrade your Tone: If the Tone preset you are saving was originally created in an application other
than POD Farm 2 (or from a Line 6 amp or POD device), then you’ll be prompted to “upgrade” the
Tone preset to the POD Farm 2 format:
Since POD Farm 2 Tone Presets are capable of storing more settings and information, they are not
“backward-compatible” and can only be opened within POD Farm 2 Plug-In or the POD Farm 2
standalone application. Therefore, if you want to retain your original Tone Presets so that you can still
open them in these other Line 6 applications or devices, you’ll want to choose the Save As option to
save a copy of the Tone Preset. Choose the Upgrade option if you don’t care about loading your saved
Tone Preset in anything other than POD Farm 2, and this will overwrite the original le.
