POD Farm 2 Advanced User Guide – Troubleshooting

Why can’t I hear the effects?
Are any models disabled (bypassed)? Each individual effect and amp/preamp can be disabled
independently by clicking on the Enable/Disable button found within its Edit Panel, or found above
the model’s icon in the Signal Flow View. A disabled model appears dimmed within the Signal Flow
View. Note that amp, cab and preamp models can be individually disabled this way as well (disabling
a cab results in changing the amp sound to a “direct” tone, with no speaker or mic emulation added).

Is the Tone Muted? Both Tone A and Tone B offer a Mute button within the Mixer View. If active,
this of course silences the entire Tone independently of the other - the Signal Path of the Tone is
dimmed when muted.

Why can’t I launch POD Farm 2 in Standalone Operation?
POD Farm 2 standalone operation requires that a Line 6 POD Studio™, TonePort™ or GuitarPort™
USB audio interface is USB connected to your computer. Only these devices include the necessary
audio components necessary for the “ToneDirect™ Monitoring” and Mixer capabilities offered in the
POD Farm 2 standalone mode. If you do have one of these Line 6 devices connected, then please see
“USB Errors” on page 9•9 for possible causes.
As an alternative, all Line 6 USB interfaces, (all POD
®
X3, POD
®
xt, POD Studio™, TonePort™
& GuitarPort™ hardware) support the Line 6 GearBox™ software for Mac
®
or Windows
®
. If you
own one of these Line 6 devices, you can download the latest GearBox version for free on the Line
6 Downloads site. GearBox can be run in standalone operation and provide mixing, monitoring and
Tone preset editing capabilities for your device. If you are using POD Farm™ 2 Plug-In, it is possible
to run GearBox in standalone operation at the same time with your Line 6 hardware as well (it is
recommended to use GearBox version 3.7 or later).
