POD Farm 2 Advanced User Guide – Glossary (What Is...?)
10•5
What is the Assignments View?
The Assignments View displays all MIDI Control assignments, and (in POD Farm 2 Plug-In only) all
active Automation assignments.
POD Farm 2 standalone application and plug-in both support the ability to be controlled remotely by
a MIDI controller device - where you can “map” any individual knob, pedal or switch from your MIDI
controller hardware to one of the numerous POD Farm 2 parameters to create a MIDI “assignment.”
The MIDI screen within the Assignments View displays handy reference info for all such MIDI
assignments you create. See “MIDI Assignments View Display” on page 4•36 for more info.
POD Farm 2 Plug-In supports the ability to have most of its parameters utilized by your DAW host
application’s parameter automation features. As described in “POD Farm 2 Plug-In Parameter
Automation” on page 4•42, you can “assign” up to 16 Knob and 16 Switch type parameters from amp,
preamp or effects to the POD Farm 2 automation slots. The Automation screen within the Assignments
View displays the specics about these automation slot assignments, as well as some features to manage
them. Please see “Automation Assignments Display” on page 4•44 for more info.
What is BPM?
BPM stands for “Beats Per Minute,” which is the common unit of measure for musical tempo. POD
Farm 2 offers a BPM option which allows you to enter in a specic tempo for Delay and Modulation
effects to optionally “sync” to, thus allowing your echo repeats and that swishy chorus or flanger
modulation to be in time with your music. Also see the related “System Tempo - Host Sync and Tap
Tempo Options” on page 4•14.

What is Chorus?
Chorus is one of the several “Mods” (modulation) category effects in POD Farm 2, as well as in the
Elements “POD Farm Mods” Plug-In. Chorus, like all “modulation effects,” add a very short delayed
repeat to the original signal, and then “modulates” the pitch of the delayed signal using an oscillator.
The Depth knob controls the intensity of the oscillation, while the Speed controls its rate. Chorus is
generally used to give a “lush” or “swimmy” sound to guitar. Andy Summers of The Police, for instance,
made chorus an important part of his signature sound. Some effects are modeled after classic gear
described in the “Model Gallery”.
