Edit View
HX Stomp XL has two main views—Play view and Edit view. Edit view is used for creating
or tweaking your tones. The Play view details are covered in the previous chapter, on
page 12.
The majority of your tone building is accomplished from the Home > Edit View screen.
Coloredblocksrepresentingamps,cabs,eects,andotheritemsappearontheupper
half of the display, and the selected block’s parameters appear within the Inspector on
the lower half.
Press at any time to return to the Home screen. If you don’t see
something similar to the illustration below, press again.

1. Input Block Select the input block and turn the lower knob to set the input source.
The Input block turns green when a signal is present (as shown above), and red if the
input clips.
2. Bypassed Block Pressthe upper knob to turn the selected block on and o
(bypassed blocks appear dim).
3. Split Block (visible when selected) turn the lower knob to choose the Split type to
feed your signal to paths A and B.
4. Selected Block Turn the upper knob or touch a switch top to select a block
(outlined in white).
5. Mixer Block (visiblewhenselected)oersparameterstomixtheAandBstereo
paths’ signals together. Optionally, press ACTION and use Knob 1 to create a separate
output block for path B, which is fed to the Send L/R outputs.
6. Output Block Oers Pan and Level parameters for the Main L/R output. The
Output block turns green when a signal is present and bright red if the input clips
(as shown above). Path B can also have an Output block—see the (5) Mixer Block
description above.
7. Inspector Scroll Bar Press

or PAGE to view more parameters for
the selected block. This scroll bar indicates which page of parameters is displayed .
In the preceding illustration, the selected Delay block has seven additional pages of
parameters.
8. Inspector Parameters for your selected block are displayed here, three per page.

or PAGE to view more parameters. Use Knobs 1~3 to adjust the
current page’s respective parameters. Additional options are available for Inspector
parameters:
• For most Delay and Modulation blocks, press the Time or Speed parameter’s
knob to toggle between note value for tempo sync versus ms (or Hz).
• A parameter’s value appears white if a controller or snapshot is assigned to it.
Push and hold the knob to create a controller assignment, or push and turn to
create a snapshot assignment.
• Press and release a parameter’s knob to return to its default value.
9. Model Turn the lower knob to selecta model; pressthe lower knob toopen the
model list. indicates a stereo model, and indicates a legacy type model.
10. Paths A and B The main path A can be split to add a parallel path B. Select any
block on path A, press ACTION, and use Knob 1 to create the path B and move the
block to it.
