Page Knob Parameter Description

1 Stomp Select
When set to “Touch,” touching a Stomp mode switch selects its assigned item(s), but pressing doesn’t. When set to “Press,” pressing a Stomp mode
switch selects its assigned item(s), but touching doesn’t (helpful if you insist on playing barefoot). When set to “Both,” either touching or pressing will
select the assigned item. The default is “Touch.”
2 Stomp Mode
By default, the “6 Switch” setting displays six labels for Stomp footswitch mode, corresponding to footswitches 1~6. Choose the “4 Switch” to
alternativelydisplaytheBank,Preset,orSnapshotUp/Downoptionsforfootswitches1and4(congurablebythe“Up/DownSwitches”settingon
the next Footswitches settings page - see Knob 2 item below). Also, see “Stomp Footswitch Mode” on page 12.
3 Preset Mode
With the “4 Switch” option active (see Knob 2 - Stomp Mode item above), when this setting is set to “Moment[ary]” (the default), HX Stomp XL returns
to the Stomp footswitch mode after selecting a preset. When set to “Latch[ing],” Return,” HX Stomp XL stays in Preset footswitch mode until you press
the MODE switch to exit.

1 Snapsht Mode
When set to “Moment[ary]” (the default), HX Stomp XL returns to the previous footswitch mode after selecting a snapshot. When set to “Latch[ing],”
Return,” HX Stomp XL stays in Snapshot footswitch mode until you press the MODE switch to exit.

Up/Down
Switches
When set to “Presets” or “Snapshots,” FS1 (BANK ) and FS4 (BANK ) change to PRESET / or SNAPSHOT / , where pressing either
switchinstantlyselectsthenext/previouspresetorsnapshot,withoutabankqueue.Thisisusefulifyou’veprogrammedaxedsetlistforyourshow
and just want to increment through all your presets or snapshots. You can also cycle through all three switch types by pressing and holding both the
and switches for two seconds. At any time, press and hold both FS1 and FS4 to cycle through BANK / , PRESET / , and SNAPSHOT
/ .NotethatthissettingaectstheUp/DownSwitchesforPresetmodeaswellasStompmode(whenthe“StompMode”optiononpage1is
set to “4 Switch”—see Knob 2 item above.
3 Swap Up/Down
Use the “On” setting here to reverse the direction of the FS1 and FS4 ( and ) BANK, PRESET, or SNAPSHOT up/down actions.

1 TAP Function
When set to the default “TAP/Tun[e]r,” pressing the TAP switch repeatedly sets the system “TAP” tempo, and pressing and holding the switch
displaystheTunerscreen.Whensetto“AllBypas[s],pressingtheTAPswitchinsteadtogglesthedevice’sBypasson/o.
NOTE: Use the Global Settings > Preferences > “Bypass Type” to choose your preferred bypass behavior.
TIP: You can use the ACTION + PAGE shortcut to access the Tuner if you've assigned the TAP switch to All Bypass.
2 FS7 Function
Sets the function of Footswitch 7, but only when Global Settings > Preferences > “EXP/FS Tip” is set to “FS7.”*
3 FS8 Function
Sets the function of Footswitch 8, but only when Global Settings > Preferences > “EXP/FS Ring” is set to “FS8.”*
*For connecting an external footswitch to access the FS7 or FS8 functions, the use of a momentary (unlatched) type footswitch is recommended. Connect to the EXP1/2, FS 7/8 input
whilethedeviceispoweredotoavoidtogglingthecurrentFS 7/8 setting.
