Getting to Know the Cable/DSL
Voice Enabler
The Cable/DSL Voice Enabler’s Rear Panel
The rear panel of the Voice Enabler is where all of the Voice Enabler’s con-
nections are made.
Uplink The Uplink Port is where you uplink to your
router, switch or hub. Connect one end of a UTP
Category 5 cable to the Voice Enabler’s Uplink
port. Connect the other end of the cable to the
appropriate port on the back of your router, switch
or hub (which is connected to the Internet).
Crossover Switch The Crossover Switch (X II) toggles the Uplink
port between crossover mode (X) and straight-
through mode (II). See the diagram below to
determine the position the switch should be in for
your situation.

The diagram above is for reference purpos-
es only. Every network is different. If you do not
make a connection to the Voice Enabler by using
the settings above, change the position of the
Crossover Switch.
