Installation Manual 5.8 GHz Expandable Digital Cordless Handset Model No. KX-TGA550 KX-TGA552 Thank you for purchasing a Panasonic cordless telephone. This handset is an accessory handset for use with Panasonic base units KX-TG5561, KX-TG5566, KX-TG5571, KX-TG5576, and KX-TG5583. You must register this handset with your base unit before it can be used. This installation manual describes only the steps needed to register and begin using the handset.

Battery installation Battery charge 1 Place the handset on the charger for 6 hours before initial use. L The unit will beep once, the CHARGE indicator will light, and “Charging” will be displayed. L “Charge completed” is displayed when the battery has been fully charged. The CHARGE indicator will remain lit. Insert the battery (1), and press it down until it snaps into the compartment (2). 2 1 2 Close the handset cover.
Battery performance After your Panasonic battery is fully charged, you can expect the following performance: Operation Operating time While in use (talking) Up to 5 hours While not in use (standby)*1 Up to 11 days While using the clarity booster feature Up to 3 hours *1 Handset is off the charger but not in use. Headset (optional) Connecting an optional headset to the handset allows hands-free phone conversations. Please use only a Panasonic KX-TCA60, KX-TCA86, KX-TCA88, KX-TCA88HA, KXTCA91, KX-TCA92, or KX-TCA98 headset. See page 2 for ordering information.
