Product Overview Chapter 1 Chapter 1: Product Overview Thank you for choosing the Linksys Wireless-G PrintServer. The PrintServer lets you connect a USB printer directly to your network, so your networked computers can share a single printer. It is compatible with most USB multifunction printers, and it allows full access to printing, faxing, scanning, and copying functions. Like any print server, users on the network can print anytime.
How to Use the PrintServer Chapter 2 Chapter 2: How to Use the PrintServer After setting up the PrintServer with the Setup Wizard (located on the CD-ROM and explained in the Quick Installation), the PrintServer will be ready for use. For print jobs, your computer will automatically connect to the printer. However, if you want to scan, fax, or access a memory card, then you must use the PrintServer Utility to tell your computer to connect to the printer.
How to Use the PrintServer Chapter 2 Program Icon Accessed through the Start Menu Printer Information The PrintServer program icons appear in the Start menu. To access these icons, click Start. Select Programs. Select Linksys PrintServer. Printer Model The model number of the connected printer. Status This section shows the printer’s status information. When a computer is connected to the printer, the Status field states the name and IP address of the computer that is currently connected.
Chapter 2 How to Use the PrintServer Print Server Settings This section shows you the PrintServer’s settings, which were configured during the Setup Wizard. If you will use the PrintServer’s web-based utility, write down the IP address of the PrintServer. You will need it to access the web-based utility. Diagnostic To run the wizard that sets up the PrintServer driver, click the Diagnostic button. Refer to the Quick Installation for details.
Advanced Configuration Chapter 3 Chapter 3: Advanced Configuration Password After setting up the PrintServer with the Setup Wizard (located on the CD-ROM and explained in the Quick Installation), the PrintServer will be ready for use. However, if you’d like to change its advanced settings, use the PrintServer’s web-based utility. This chapter will describe each web page of the utility and each page’s key functions. You can access the utility via your web browser on a networked computer.
Advanced Configuration Chapter 3 In most cases, the Gateway IP address is the IP address of your router, and you should complete the Gateway field if you will use the PrintServer for Internet printing. (To find out your router’s IP address, refer to your router’s documentation.) Management Stations Connection IP Address Enter the IP address of the management station running the SNMP program.
Advanced Configuration Chapter 3 Network Type The Network Type setting shows a choice of two wireless modes. Select Infrastructure if you want the PrintServer to communicate using an access point or wireless router. Select Ad-Hoc if you want the PrintServer to communicate without using an access point or wireless router. WPA Personal Click the Save button to apply your changes, or click the Cancel button to cancel your changes.

Printer > Scan By default, the computer that sent the print job will be disconnected one minute after the print job is completed. Advanced Configuration Chapter 3 Upgrade A firmware upgrade can only be performed when the PrintServer is connected to the network using its Ethernet port. If you want to upgrade the PrintServer’s firmware, follow these instructions: 1. Go to the Linksys website at http://www.linksys.com. Printer > Logical Port 2. Select Support and then Download. Find your product’s name and download the latest firmware for the PrintServer. 3. Extract the firmware file on your PC. Select Printer 4.
Advanced Configuration Chapter 3 Click the Refresh button to update the information on this screen. Status > Printer Exit Click the Exit tab to close the web-based utility. The Printer screen displays the current settings of the printer. No values can be changed on this screen. Click the Refresh button to update the information on this screen. Status > Printer Port 1 (USB Port) Print Test Page Click the Print Test Page button to print a test page on the connected printer.
Troubleshooting Appendix A Appendix A: Troubleshooting All of the LEDs on the front of the PrintServer are not lit. Check the power adapter and the connection to the electrical outlet. The PrintServer’s Power LED lights up orange or flashes continuously. Reset the factory defaults. Hold down the Reset button for ten seconds, and the PrintServer will be reset to factory defaults. NOTE: Resetting the PrintServer will delete all of your custom settings and replace them with the factory defaults.
Appendix A Troubleshooting When you have finished upgrading the PrintServer’s firmware, follow these instructions: 1. Unplug the power from the PrintServer. 2. Disconnect the Ethernet network cable from the PrintServer and router. 3. Plug in the power to the PrintServer. It should automatically reconnect to the wireless network. Wenn der Ad-Hoc-Modus für Ihr Netzwerk eingestellt ist, wählen Sie die Kanaleinstellung Ihres Netzwerks aus.

El servidor de impresión le permite conectar una impresora USB directamente a la red, de manera que los ordenadores conectados a ésta puedan compartir una sola impresora. Chapitre 1 Chapitre 1 : Présentation du produit Merci d'avoir choisi le serveur d'impression sans fil G Linksys. Ce serveur d'impression vous permet de connecter une imprimante USB directement à votre réseau, afin que vos ordinateurs en réseau puissent partager une même imprimante. U kunt het webprogramma van de afdrukserver gebruiken om de geavanceerde instellingen te wijzigen. Hoofdstuk 3 Print Banner Page (Bannerpagina afdrukken) Deze functie is standaard ingeschakeld en geeft de afdrukserver de opdracht om voor elke afdruktaak een bannerpagina af te drukken (op de bannerpagina wordt de afdruktaak beschreven). Deselecteer deze optie om deze functie uit te schakelen. Mail response when printed (Reactie mailen indien afgedrukt) Selecteer deze optie als u wilt dat er een e-mail wordt verstuurd wanneer een afdruktaak is voltooid.
