FIGURE 4: TO SEMI-FLUSH MOUNT FIXTURE
Follow steps 2B to 16B.
2B. Attach crossbar to junction box with the (2) #8 x 1 ma-
chine screws passing through the slots. (Head of green screw
should face downward). See Figure 5.
3B.
Thread the 1/8IP x 1¾" nipple into the center hole of the
crossbar about ¾". See Figure 5.
4B.
Fully thread the 1/8IP x 1-1/16" nipple into the center cou-
pling on the back of the pan. See Figure 1.
5B.
Insert power cord and ground wire from the chain-link
end of the extension pipe into ballast cover strain relief bush-
ing and tie a knot in the cord. See Figure 1.
6B.
Use wirenuts to connect the bare copper ground wire
from pan to the ground wire from the canopy assembly.
Then connect white fixture wire to the neutral (ribbed) power
cord wire and the black fixture wire to the remaining power
cord. See Figure 5.
7B.
Place the ballast cover over the 1-1/16" nipple and se-
cure it against the pan using the small finial. See Figure 1.
8B. Remove hexnuts and lock washers from the ends of each
extension pipe. See Figure 1.
9B. Attach the extension pipes to the canopy by inserting the
threaded end of each pipe into one of the three holes in the
canopy. Replace the lock washers and tighten the hexnuts.
See Figure 1.
10B.
Attach (3) chain links to the mounting hooks.
11B.
Thread a hexnut onto one end of the large nipple about
1/4". Then thread end into the coupling on the front of the
pan. See Figure 1.
12B.
Tighten the hexnut again against the coupling to lock
the nipple in place. See Figure 3.
13B
. With the power off, hold the canopy firmly and connect
the copper ground wire from the fixture to the junction box,
by wrapping them under the head of the green ground screw
and securing them to the crossbar. (If house wiring includes
no ground wire consult your local electrical code for approved
methods). See Figure 5.
14B.
Use wirenuts to connect the black fixture wire(s) to the
black power supply wire and white fixture wire(s) to white
power supply wire. See Figure 5 .
FOR PROPER CONNECTION, PLACE WIRENUT OVER
WIRES, TWIST CLOCKWISE UNTIL TIGHT.
15B. Align the hole in the canopy with the nipple extending
from the cross bar previously mounted to the junction box.
See Figure 5.
16B.
Hold the canopy against the ceiling and thread a small
finial onto the nipple until canopy is secure. See Figure 5.
17.
Insert lamp (s) and install diffuser by placing it over the
long nipple and securing it in place with the large finial.
See Figure 1.
18.
Turn on electricity at fuse or circuit breaker box .
