Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 1 2 Layout the parts for the floor as shown. Refer to the diagram for spacing. We will assemble an 8x12 workshop in this manual. The other sizes are the same basic structure, just larger. 3 5 Fasten with 2 1/2” screws. We recommend 2 per side. 4 Once the frame is fastened lay the 4x4’s underneath. Refer to the layout diagram for number of 4x4’s and spacing. On the larger sizes you will need to splice the 4x4’s by applying a gusset to the side of them.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 7 8 Place the piece of plywood on top of the joists. Make sure that the plywood is even with the joists as shown. 9 Install first sheet of plywood. 10 Once the plywood is installed, install panel A. use instructions below to install. Install the rest of the plywood according to the diagram. 11 12 Fasten the side by the door. Make sure the edge is even with the floor, and the siding is in against the floor.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 13 14 Position next panel in place. Continue fastening the panel. You can use roughly (2) 2 1/2” screws every 8” - 12”. 15 16 Install door panel. Be sure to keep even as shown. 17 Use your foot to push in the door panel, so the siding is aginst the floor. 18 Install the next panel. In larger buildings you will probably have more panels. Refer to diagram for the order of installation. Construction Manual Continue installing panels per diagram.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 19 20 Continue installing panels. 21 Continue installing panels per diagram. 22 Before installing last wall, remove door packaging piece as shown. 23 Install siding strip beneath door. Be sure to keep even with the floor as shown with the square. 24 Hold the door against floor and make a mark around the barrel bolt as shown. Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 25 26 Fasten last wall in place. 27 Position gable on top of wall as shown. The larger sizes will have to be assembled first before installing. 28 Once you have this positioned, fasten. Repeat this on the other side. If you can not obtain a 5 1/2” reading on either side split the difference between the two. Measure in 5 1/2” from the edge. 29 30 Install the other side of the gable. Construction Manual Fasten trim into bottom wall as shown.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 31 32 Install first piece of 2x6 with trim fastened to it. Keep trim face up as shwon. Match sets for each side of the building. Keep inside even as shown with square. Fasten into bottom wall. 33 Install next piece of 2x6. 34 Install last piece of 2x6 with trim. In a larger building there will be more pieces, refer to diagram. Make sure entire piece is even as shown. You may have to pull or push wall to obtain correct position. 35 36 This shows one side completed.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 37 38 Fasten all the 2x6 in place. 39 Note how the 2x6 will look. Note the markings on it are to show th e placement of the trusses. 40 Use the door packing brace and fasten the wall braces together as shown. 41 Install the wall brace. Position it beside the center truss marks. This will hold the building together and provide strength. 42 Install the other side of the gable.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 43 44 Fasten tursses from the outside, underneath the 2x6 and into the truss. Use one 2 1/2” screw on either side of the splice, if truss rests on splice. 45 Install small rake block as shown. 46 Fasten rake together as shown. Keep even on top and screw together. Another picture of installation of rake block. 47 48 Install rake as shown. Construction Manual Fasten first piece of OSB per diagram layout. Only fasten at the bottom to begin with.

Fasten on the bottom outside edge. 51 Measure and then fasten at the top once trusses are in the correct position. 52 Fasten OSB to Rake. 53 Continue fastening to trusses. 54 Once the bottom sheets are installed, install top sheets. Use screws roughly 12” apart on either side. 57 Install shutters. 58 Install trim above and below shutters. 59 Install door latch in predrilled hole. 60 Install D part of latch on the inside. Construction Manual Install dripedge around the edge of the building. You can see the white around the edge of the building. You can than install shingle starter strips as shown.
Wood Workshop 8’x10’ - 12’x24’ 61 62 Start installing shingles. 63 Continue installing shingles in a staggered fashion. 64 This shows more shingle installation. 65 Then start finishing building. 66 Cut ridge cap in the shape shown in picture and start to place the cap on the top of the building. Once you have convered the sheeting, finish off by capping off the roof. 71 72 finish off edges.
