Table 4 gives a brief description of the steps needed to perform the operations detailed in this
documentation. For torque specifications, cautions, and additional information, see the
reference listed in the Details column.

Operation Steps Details
connect laptop to the unit
1. open the unit’s service hatch (cSPICE) or door (bSPICE)
2. connect Ethernet cable to laptop and unit’s Ethernet port
3. follow SST instructions detailed in SPICE Software Guide
4. disconnect Ethernet cable from unit and laptop
5. close the unit’s service hatch or door

replace SIM card
1. open the unit’s service hatch (cSPICE) or door (bSPICE)
2. remove the old SIM
3. insert the new SIM
4. close the unit’s service hatch or door

replace cSPICE batteries
1. disconnect power
2. open the unit’s service hatch
3. disconnect the fuse from the fuse holder
4. remove old batteries
5. install new batteries
6. reconnect the fuse and fuse holder
7. check that alarm is cleared
8. replace unit service hatch
9. reconnect power
10. properly dispose of old batteries

replace bSPICE batteries
1. disconnect power
2. open the unit’s door
3. remove service door from inside bSPICE
4. disconnect fuse from the fuse holder
5. remove old batteries
6. install new batteries
7. replace service door
8. close unit door
9. reconnect unit to power
10. check that alarm is cleared
11. properly dispose of old batteries
