3.3. GateExciterGPRS
The Gate Locator GPRS functionalizes as a combination of Base Station and Gate Locator. Can be the
managementunitandalsodirectoperationandcontrolofRFIDtags.
Unitcanmanagethesubunits–gatelocators.Itcarriesoutthefollowingfunctionalities:
Managementunit–the
datathatisreceivedon thegatelocatorsis transferredtothe unit
withanindicationonwhichunitsendsthedata.
The unit is able to send configuration info the gate locators via 869.85/916 MHz (area
dependent)
Transferring data– theunit receivesoverthe UHF band.themessages
transmittedbythe
tagstothegatelocatorandthentotheGateExciterGPRS.Itcansendthemaresponse(to
acknowledgethereception);senddatatoamainserver,triggerlocalhardwarethroughdry‐
contactinterfacesorstartacontinuouscommunicationsessionwiththetag.
GenerateRF‐
Zonesusinganinternal125KHztransmitter.Eachoftheunit'schannelscarries
a uniquenumber as an identifierto the location/area where the RF‐Zone is operates.
The
devicehas4LFantennaports,onlyoneworksatatime.
Operates logicalrules: basedon events(tag detection,sensordetection, location decision,
etc.)thattheunitsdetectsitactivatesactions(I/O,parameterupdate,etc.)
Functionasarepeatertotag’stransmissions,relayingittowardtheBase
‐Stationunit.
Independentunit–theunitcanfunctionandconnecttoaserver.
GateExciterGPRScanconnectthecustomercomputer/managementsystemviaEthernet,GPRSorWIFI.
Note that the Gate Exciter GPRS installation must be separated from electricity and
communicationinfrastructure
