1. Introduction The Voice/Fax/Data Modem connects your computer to Internet, and all kinds of BBS, and other popular Fax / Modems. This manual describes the features, procedures of installations, and AT command set...etc. of this modem. Indicators POWER: Power on indicator. DATA: DTR signal indicator. OH: Off Hook. 3. Installation 3.1 Hardware Installation **Do not power on your modem before your finished the following installation. 1. Plug the male end of the RS-232 cable into the connector marked RS-232 ○ 3 on the back of the modem. 2. Plug the other end of this cable into the serial port on the back of your computer. 4 on the back of the modem. 3. Plug the power cable into the AC-IN(or POWER) connector ○ 4. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. 5.
3.2 Driver Installation 3.2.1 Installation Procedures for Windows 64-bits (XP/Win7/Vista) If your computer is using Windows 64-bits (XP/Win7/Vista), please open and browse the related folder of CD. e.g. F:\Driver\Win7_64. There is a .INF file in the related folder for installation. You may refer to these following steps to install. 1. After Hardware Installation, switch on your computer and insert the driver CD into the CD-ROM. Open Device Manager of Windows. Click and run “Scan for hardware changes”.
2. The Device Manager will show a unknown device, such as Analog Modem. Move your mouse on this unknown device and click right key of mouse, and select Update Driver Software. 3. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
4. Click Browse and open the driver files. e.g., F:\Driver\Win7_64. 5. If windows pop out a warring message. Select Install this driver software anyway and continue to install. 6. Click Close to complete the installation.
7. When completed installation, the modem displayed in Device Manager.
3.2.2 Installation Procedures for Windows 32-bits (XP/Win7/Vista) If your computer using Windows 32-bits (2K/XP/Win7/Vista), please open the related folder of CD. e.g., F:\Driver\Win2K_XP. There is a Setup.exe file in the related folder for installation. You may use the Wizard of installation CD to install.
4. Commands Most people use the communication software programs to tell modems what to do. Therefore, you may not use the commands in this chapter. However, if you prefer to communicate with your modem directly, you can type the commands described below. 4.1 Typing Commands * Use the BACKSPACE key to delete typing errors. * Every command (except A/ and +++) must begin with the AT or at prefix and be entered by pressing the key.

The parameter value, if valid, is written to S27 bits 4 and 5. In asynchronous mode, the transmit and receive clocks are turned OFF. In synchronous mode, the clocks are turned ON with the frequency of 1200 Hz or faster corresponding to the speed that is selected for modem operation.

It may be used to select operation at rates at which the modem is not capable of automatically detecting the data rate being used by the DTE. Specifying a value of 0 disables the function and allows operation only at rates automatically detectable by the modem.
