Hardware Usage Guide HOW TO USE A TWIST-LOCK FASTENER 1. 2. Push a TWIST-LOCK FASTENER into the large hole in the part. 1. Insert the dowel end of the FASTENER into the hole of the adjoining part. NOTE: The dowel end of the FASTENER must remain fully inserted in the hole of the adjoining part while locking the FASTENER. 2. Tighten the FASTENER with a Phillips screwdriver as tight as possible. Dowel end HOW TO USE A HIDDEN CAM & CAM DOWEL 2. Insert the metal end of the CAM DOWEL into the HIDDEN CAM.
Step 1 å Assemble your unit on a carpeted floor or on the empty carton to avoid scratching your unit or the floor. å To begin assembly, push eight TWIST-LOCK FASTENERS (10F) into the large holes in the TOP SHORT BRACES (G). Some assembly (and snacks) required. Do not tighten the TWIST-LOCK FASTENERS in this step.
Step 2 å Fasten the TOP SHORT BRACES (G) to the TOPS (A). Tighten eight TWIST-LOCK FASTENERS. G A G A Surface with TWIST-LOCK FASTENERS There should be a small gap between the TOPS (A).
Step 3 å Push two HIDDEN CAMS (1F) into the TOP CENTER BRACE (H). Then, insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. å Fasten the TOP CENTER BRACE (H) to the TOPS (A). Tighten two HIDDEN CAMS.
Step 4 å Push eight HIDDEN CAMS (1F) into the TOP LONG BRACES (F). Then, insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step.
Step 5 å Fasten the TOP LONG BRACES (F) to the TOPS (A). Tighten eight HIDDEN CAMS. å Fasten the TOP LONG BRACES (F) to the TOP SHORT BRACES (G). Use four SILVER 2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (57S). å Fasten the TOP LONG BRACES (F) to the TOP CENTER BRACE (H). Use two BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (2S).
Step 6 å Push a HIDDEN CAM (1F) into each of the OUTER LEG PANELS (D). Then, insert the metal end of a CAM DOWEL (2F) into each HIDDEN CAM. Do not tighten the HIDDEN CAMS in this step.
Step 7 å Slide the notched edges of the LEG PANELS (E and K) into the grooves in the OUTER LEG PANELS (D). å NOTE: The finished surfaces on the LEG PANELS (E and K) should all face out. Now might be a good time to refresh your drink.
Step 8 å Fasten a LONG LEG PANEL (B) to each of the RIGHT FRONT/LEFT REAR LEG PANELS (E) and LEFT FRONT/ RIGHT REAR LEG PANELS (K). Use four BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (2S).
Step 9 å First, fill the holes in the LONG LEG PANELS (B) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE (54M). Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å Now, fill the holes in the TOP SHORT BRACE (G) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE. Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS in the LONG LEG PANELS into these holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å å NOTE: Tap into place using a rubber mallet. Fill the holes 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE. Fasten the OUTER LEG PANELS (D) to the TOPS (A). Tighten four HIDDEN CAMS.
Step 10 å First, fill the holes in the LOWER SHORT BRACES (I) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE (54M). Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å Now, fill the holes in the LOWER LONG BRACE (J) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE. Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS in the LOWER SHORT BRACES into these holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å Fasten the LOWER SHORT BRACES (I) to the LOWER LONG BRACE (J). Use two SILVER 2" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (57S).
Step 11 å First, fill the holes in the LOWER SHORT BRACES (I) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE (54M). Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å Now, fill the holes in the LONG LEG PANELS (B) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE. Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS in the LOWER SHORT BRACES into these holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å NOTE: Tap into place using a rubber mallet. Fill the holes 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE. ! Caution Inspect the parts thoroughly before assembling.
Step 12 å First, fill the holes in the SHORT LEG PANELS (C) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE (54M). Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS (15F) into the holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å Now, fill the holes in the LOWER SHORT BRACES (I) 1/4 to 1/2 full with GLUE. Then, insert the WOOD DOWELS in the SHORT LEG PANELS into these holes. Wipe away the excess GLUE. å å NOTE: Tap into place using a rubber mallet. Fasten the SHORT LEG PANELS (C) to the LEG PANELS (E and K). Use sixteen BLACK 1-7/8" FLAT HEAD SCREWS (2S).
Step 13 å å Carefully stand your unit upright. å Using your hammer, gently tap a CAM COVER (13P) onto each visible HIDDEN CAM. å å NOTE: Please read the back pages of the instruction booklet for important safety information. Center a SCREW COVER (18P) over the head of each SCREW and gently tap in with your hammer. This completes assembly. Clean with a damp cloth. Wipe dry.
