Guide to the SRX800 Receiver Preliminary
Stop Bits: Select either 1 or 2 stop bits.
Setup > 1)Comm > 1)Configure > 1)Serial I (or) 2)Serial II > 4)Stop Bits
The receiver also needs to know if the serial port is going to be used for
connecting to a modem (see Configuring Modem Settings for details).

The modem must be connected to Serial I. Serial I must have the appropriate
baud rate set to be compatible with the speed of the modem. The port baud rate
should be set at or below the actual throughput of the line, to avoid overloading
the modem’s internal buffers.
For example, if the modem is capable of communicating with the receiver at
115200 baud, but the actual telephone line speed is 57600, the Serial I setting
should not exceed 57600.
Access modem settings via:
Setup > 1)Comm > 1)Configure > 1)Serial I > 5)Modem
Three actions are associated with the modem: assigning Serial I to the modem,
viewing the CMDS for the modem, and initializing the modem.
Details on these are provided below.
ASSIGNING A MODEM TO SERIAL I
Assign a serial port via:
Setup > 1)Comm > 1)Configure > 1)Serial I > 5)Modem > 1)Has Modem
Select Yes or No.
