CH AN G I N G T H E AN T E N N A PORT
To switch to another antenna/hydrophone quickly, enter in the antenna port
number of the desired antenna via:
Manual > 3)Signal > 3)Ant
If the antenna is connected to the front of the receiver and not the ASP-8, then
enter 0 for the port value.
The port on the front of the receiver is always called AH0.
CH AN G I N G T H E R A D I O FR E Q U E N C Y
To switch to another radio frequency, enter in the desired frequency via:
Manual > 3)Signal > 4)Freq > 1)Radio
The receiver pauses for a moment before the new frequency is accepted. Wait for
the display to go back to the Signal page.
CH AN G I N G T H E AC O U S T I C FREQ U E N C Y
To switch to another acoustic frequency, enter in the desired frequency via:
Manual > 3)Signal > 4)Freq > 2)Acoustic
The receiver pauses for a moment before the new gain is accepted. Wait for the
display to go back to the Signal page.
SETTING THE NOISE TH R E S H O L D
The Noise Threshold is the minimum allowable detection signal strength. This
means that if the receiver detects a pulse that has a signal strength equal to or
less than the noise threshold, it is rejected and not used for further code
processing.
Typically, the noise threshold is set to 30, but it should be set to reflect the
environment in which a study is taking place.
