Antennas pick up signals from transmitters and delivers them to the SRX800
receiver. A typical configuration of the SRX800 system can accommodate up to
eight antennas, which can be monitored one at a time or simultaneously.
Antenna inputs accept signals from radio antennas and upconverted acoustic
sources (hydrophones).
To use more than one antenna, the ASP-8 switchbox is needed. Connections
to the ASP-8 are referred to as Antenna Ports and are associated with specific
Port Numbers.
A single antenna can be connected to the front of the SRX800 receiver. It is
referred to as AH0.
These antenna-related parameters must be set before data collection can begin:
Add antennas to an antenna group.
Enter a gain value for each antenna.
Enter an Antenna Port number for each antenna.
Set the receiver to use the ASP-8.
(optional) Designate a radio antenna or a hydrophone as a master.
(optional) Assign a Frequency or an Antenna Priority for the scan cycle.
(optional) Enable Master Antenna Preview.

Either radio antennas or upconverted hydrophones can be used as antennas.
Radio antennas can be multi-element yagi, H-antennas, underwater antennas, or
whip antennas.
Antenna inputs on the ASP-8 can also be used for hydrophones (underwater
microphones). For the SRX800 to use hydrophones, the hydrophone must be
