1. What is engineered wood fencing?
LP Elements
®
Performance Fencing is engineered wood fencing. Engineered wood fencing is a new material category
in the fencing industry that offers greater durability than wood and vinyl, utilizing strand technology that has been a
proven part of the homebuilding industry for decades. Rectangular wood strands blended with thermal-set, water-
resistant adhesives are arranged in cross-directional layers that are consolidated under extreme pressure to create
stiff, strong and durable products.
2. Is the appearance and texture the same on both sides of the product?
LP Elements Performance Fencing has deeply embossed cedar grain patterns for a natural look on one side and
a brushed finish on the other. Either side, depending upon the homeowner’s preference, can be installed to be
outward facing.
3. Is the product’s treatment consistent all the way through the product?
Every strand is coated with resins, wax and zinc borate, following a strict quality control process when manufactured.
4. Will the product splinter, crack or warp?
LP Elements Performance Fencing has been treated to the core with protective waxes and resins, giving it resistance
to splitting, cracking and warping.
5. Does the product require any special tools or fasteners?
LP Elements Performance Fencing has been designed and manufactured to comply with regular fence installation
with no special tools or fasteners required. However, staples are not recommended. See Installation and
Maintenance Instructions.
6. Can I cut the top of the fence pickets?
No. The top of the picket is a beveled, dog-ear design that helps drain moisture from the top of the picket.
Cutting the top of the picket is not recommended and will void the warranty.
7. Do I have to paint the posts and rails?
Painting the posts and rails is not a requirement but a choice of the customer.
8. Can the product be installed horizontally?
This product is designed, tested and warranted for a vertical application; however, LP is currently testing a horizontal
application and it may be coming soon.
9. Can this product be stored outside?
Store pickets off the ground on a flat well-supported, well-drained surface, covered and dry.
