1. How does the product hold up in different climates?

2. Does the material come primed? Can you paint the product?
All LP SmartSide products come primed for exceptional paint adhesion, helping contractors and homeowners save time.
3. Are there special tools required to install the product?
No special tools required. LP SmartSide Trim & Siding cuts with standard woodworking tools.
4. What’s the water resistance of the product?
For more than 20 years, LP SmartSide strand substrate siding has undergone brutal testing in Hilo, Hawaii. With high
levels of humidity, and almost 170 inches of annual rainfall, this makes Hilos’ climate the perfect breeding ground

6. How do you deal with butt joints in the siding?
Siding butt joints should be staered over successive courses. For siding installations with or without wood
structural panels, butt joints must occur over stud locations. In some cases, siding can be applied in a sheathing

7. Does the siding have silica in it?
LP SmartSide products do not add silica or silica-based products as a raw material. For more information on OSHAs
