It must have certification marks showing certification by an agency in your region. Please use a soft and dry cloth when clean inside and outside surfaces of the dome cover, do not use alkaline detergents.

1 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome Chapter 1 Installation Before you start: Check the package contents and make sure that the device in the package is in good condition and all the assembly parts are included. 1.1 Installation and Cabling 1.1.1 Installing the Speed Dome There are several ways to install the analog speed dome or network speed dome. The ceiling mounting is taken as an example below. Please refer to the Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 for other installation ways. Steps: 1.

Secure the ceiling mount to the ceiling. 1) Stick the drill template on the place where you want to install the speed dome. 2) Drill three φ6 screw holes with the drill template as shown in Figure 1-4.

Figure 1-5 Install the Ceiling Mount Notes: For cement ceiling mounting, you need to use the expansion screw to fix the mount. The mounting hole of the expansion pipe on the wall should align with the mounting hole on the mount. For wooden ceiling mounting, you can just use the self-tapping screw to fix the bracket.
4 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome 7. Set the address, baudrate, etc. for the speed dome. There is a DIP switch on the camera module as shown in Figure 1-6. You can set the parameters like address, baudrate, etc. with the DIP switch. Please refer to the section 1.3 DIP Switch Settings for detailed information. Figure 1-10 Tear off the Film 1.1.2 Connecting the Cables Before you start: Please make sure to cut off the power of the dome before connect the cables. The cable interfaces of analog speed dome and network speed dome are shown in Figure 1-11 and Figure 1-12 respectively. The cables of RS-485, alarm in/out, etc. are distinguished by different colors.

8 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome are used to set the baudrate. The eighth and ninth switches are used to set the parity and Manchester Code protocol. The tenth switch is reserved. Please refer to the section 1.2.3 to 1.2.6 for detailed settings. Notes: The default dome address is 0. The default baudrate is 2400, and the default status of the 120Ω terminator is OFF. The speed dome is self-adaptive to the Pelco-P, Pelco-D and Private-Code.

10 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome 1.2.2 Baudrate Settings The number 6 and 7 DIP switches are used for setting the baudrate of the speed dome. The baudrate can be 2400bps, 4800bps, 9600bps and 19200bps. The baudrate will be set as 2400bps by default if it is out of this range. 11 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome The alarm provides the relay output (no voltage), and the external power supply is required when it connects to the alarm device. For DC power supply (left diagram), the input voltage must be no more than 12VDC, 30mA. For AC power supply (right diagram), the external relay must be used (right diagram) to prevent damages to the speed dome and avoid risk of electric shock.

14 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome Chapter 3 Mounting Applications 3.1 Wall Mounting Before you start: Wall mounting is applicable to the indoor/outdoor solid wall. Notes: The wall must be thick enough to mount the expansion screws. The wall must be strong enough to withstand more than 4 times the weight of the dome and its accessories. Steps: 1. Drill screw holes as shown in Figure 3-1. 1) Attach the wall mount to the wall where you need to install the speed dome.

Route the cables and secure the wall mount. 1) Route the cables for the speed dome. Please refer to the section 1.1.2 Connecting the Cables for connecting the video, network, power, RS-485, alarm and audio, etc. cables. 2) Tighten the set screws to secure the wall mount to the wall with the speed dome.

Notes: The ceiling must be thick enough to mount the expansion screws. The ceiling must be strong enough to withstand more than 4 times the weight of the dome and its accessories. Steps: 1. Install the mounting base. 1) Drill four φ12 holes in the ceiling according to the screw holes of the mounting base.

18 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome Figure 3-7 Secure the Speed Dome 3.3 In-ceiling Mounting Before you start: The in-ceiling mounting is applicable to the indoor ceiling. Notes: The height of the space above the ceiling must be more than 250mm. The ceiling must be with the thickness between 5 and 40mm. The ceiling must be strong enough to withstand more than 4 times the weight of the dome and its accessories. Steps: 1. Drill holes in the ceiling.

Install the toggle bolts. 1) Remove the toggle from the toggle bolt. 2) Insert the bolts into the screw holes on the dome as shown in Figure 3-10. 3) Rotate the bolts through the screw holes. 4) Reinstall the toggles as shown in Figure 3-11.

Align the toggle bolts with the screw holes on the ceiling. 5. Push the dome to the mounting hole on the ceiling. 6. Rotate the bolts again. The toggle will automatically rotate down to secure the dome to the ceiling.

23 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome Appendix Appendix 1 Lightning & Surge Protection This product adopts TVS plate lightning protection technology to avoid damage caused by pulse signal that is below 3000W, like instantaneous lighting, surging, etc. According to the actual situation outdoors, necessary protection measures must be taken to secure the electrical safety. The distance between signal transmission line and High-voltage equipment or high-voltage cable is at least 50m.

26 Installation Manual of 4-inch Speed Dome Appendix 3 24VAC Wire Gauge & Transmission Distance The following table has described the recommended max. distance adopted for the certain wire gauge when the 24VAC voltage loss rate is less than 10%. For the AC driven device, the maximum voltage loss rate allowable is 10%. For example, for a device with the rating power of 80VA which is installed at a distance of 35 feet (10m) away from the transformer, then the minimum wire gauge required is 0.8000mm.
