1 FIRST STEPS 1.1 WHAT’S INSIDE THE BOX You should find the following items in the box: • T2 HD smartphone • Dock • USB charging cable • USB power adapter • In-ear hi-fi headset • Carrying straps in two sizes • A SIM card guide with a SIM card tray and a SIM card tray opener • A leaflet with a Quick start guide, Safety guide, Warranty terms and End-user license agreement If something is missing in the box, please contact the shop where you bought your phone.
1.2 OVERVIEW OF YOUR PHONE Below is an overview of your phone and its keys. 1.3 GETTING STARTED To start using your smartphone you will need the following: • T2 HD smartphone • The SIM card tray enclosed separately in the SIM card guide in the box • A nano SIM card with a service plan • The original USB cable and power adapter that came with your phone IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging your phone, always use original USB cables and chargers and compatible SIM cards with your phone. T2 HD is only compatible with a nano SIM card. To get started with your phone, follow steps 1-6 below.
STEP 1 Install your nano SIM card: 1. Take the SIM card tray out of the SIM card guide enclosed separately in the box. 2. Place your nano SIM card in the tray with the cut-off corner matching the tray and gold contacts facing down. STEP 2 Insert the SIM card tray back in: 1. Carefully push the SIM card tray back in. 2. Make sure the tray is inserted and secured and is completely flush with the casing of the phone.
STEP 4 Charge the phone using method A) or B): NB: It takes 1.5-2 hours to charge the phone. A) Use the USB charger: 1. Plug the charger into a power outlet. 2. Plug the end of the charger cable into the micro USB port of the phone (the USB sign on the head of the cable facing up). B) Use the dock: 1. Plug the charger into a power outlet. 2. Plug the end of the charger cable into the micro USB port of the dock (the USB sign on the head of the cable facing up). 3.
STEP 5 Turn on the phone: Press and hold down the Power key for 1-2 seconds until the Lumigon logo appears on the screen, and then release the key. If the phone does not turn on, charge it (see Step 4) and try again. STEP 6 Follow the onscreen instructions: 1. When you turn on your phone for the first time, you’ll see a Welcome screen. Select your language, and touch “Start”. 2. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your phone. 3. When prompted, sign in with your GoogleTM Account.
1.4 THE SIM CARD TRAY AND ITS OPENER The SIM card guide enclosed in the sales box includes a SIM card tray and a SIM card tray opener. The SIM card tray opener provides a convenient way to pull the SIM card tray out of the phone, e.g. if you need to take your SIM card out or install a new SIM card. As you go through the setup screens, you can skip some steps. You can always set up the options you skip or change your settings later. »» To select items on the screen, touch them. »» When viewing a list, swipe up or down with your finger. »» To enter text, touch where you want to type and an onscreen keyboard will appear. »» To go back and forth between the screens, touch the arrows at the bottom of the screen (when available).
2 USING A GOOGLE ACCOUNT 2.1 WHY SIGN IN WITH A GOOGLE ACCOUNT? When you set up your phone for the first time, you are asked to sign in with your Google Account. Adding a Google Account is optional, but it’s a good idea if you want to take full advantage of the Android platform that powers your phone. Android is an operating system (OS) for mobile devices provided by Google, and a Google Account is tightly linked to the OS.
2.2 HOW DO I GET A GOOGLE ACCOUNT? If you already have an email address that you use for Gmail, YouTube or any other Google product, it counts as a Google Account. When you are prompted to sign in with a Google Account, touch “Existing” to sign in with your existing account. If you don’t have a Google Account, you can create one directly on your phone. When you are prompted to sign in with a Google Account, touch ”New” > follow the onscreen instructions to create a new account. 2.
3 KEYS AND CONNECTORS 3.1 PHYSICAL KEYS VS. ONSCREEN KEYS Your smartphone has two types of keys: • physical keys (the Power, ActionKey, Home, Camera, Volume & Zoom keys) and • onscreen keys that are pressure-sensitive areas on the screen (the Back and the Menu keys). To activate the physical keys, you either press or press & hold them. To activate the onscreen keys, you either touch or touch & hold them. One key may have several functions.
KEY / PORT WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH IT • Turn your phone ON: Press & hold the key for 1-2 seconds until the Lumigon logo appears on the screen. Power key (a physical key on the top side of the phone) • Turn your phone OFF: Press & hold the key until a menu appears on the screen > Touch “Power off” > Touch “OK“. • Go to or wake up from Sleep mode: Briefly press the key. • Shortcut to options Airplane mode, Silent mode, Vibrate mode: Press & hold the key until a menu appears on the screen > Touch mode.

4 USING THE TOUCHSCREEN 4.1 FINGER GESTURES To navigate your phone and perform different actions through the touchscreen, you use your finger(s) directly on the screen. • To select or activate something, like an app, widget, or a menu option, simply touch it. • To type something, like a name, password, etc., just touch where you want to type. An onscreen keyboard will appear and you will be able to type your text by touching the symbols.
GESTURE ROTATE THE SCREEN HOW IT WORKS You change the orientation of the screen from portrait to landscape by simply turning the phone from upright to its side and back again. To use this gesture, you’ll need to ensure that auto-rotation is enabled in the phone’s settings: On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=) > Touch “System settings” > In the “Device” section, touch “Display” > Check “Auto-rotate screen” by touching it.
5 SETTINGS 5.1 ACCESSING THE SETTINGS To access your phone’s system settings, do any of the following: 4 5 Touch the All Apps key in the Dock. 6 SCREEN LOCK 6.1 ABOUT SCREEN LOCK To secure your phone and protect it from unauthorized access, you may want to set up a screen lock. When enabled, the screen lock will be required to unlock the phone every time it is turned on and/or when it wakes up from Sleep mode. When the screen locks, you can still receive calls, SMS and MMS messages, use the ActionKey, use the camera, listen to music and adjust the volume using the Volume keys.
6.3 LOCK THE SCREEN INSTANTLY WITH THE POWER KEY 1 2 3 4 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. In the “Personal” section, touch “Security”. In the ”Screen security” section, touch “Power key instantly locks”. NB: This option is only available once you have set up a screen lock. 6.4 SET AUTOMATIC TIMEOUT FOR SCREEN LOCK 1 2 3 4 5 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. 7 SLEEP MODE 7.1 ABOUT SLEEP MODE When the phone is in Sleep mode, the screen is turned off and locked. You can still receive calls, SMS and MMS messages, use the ActionKey, listen to music and adjust the volume using the Volume keys. Going to Sleep mode helps you save battery life and prevent accidental key or touchscreen presses when the phone is in your pocket or bag. NOTE: Your phone goes to sleep automatically if you don’t use the touchscreen for a certain period of time (sleep timeout).
7.3 ADJUST THE SLEEP TIMEOUT You can adjust the time before the screen automatically goes to sleep. 1 2 1 2 3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. In the “Device“ section, touch “Display“. Touch “Sleep“. Touch the desired sleep timeout to select it.
8 SILENT & VIBRATE MODES 8.1 ABOUT SILENT AND VIBRATE MODES Silent mode mutes your phone completely by turning off all of your phone’s ringtones and notification sounds. Vibrate mode does the same, but allows your phone to vibrate whenever you receive a call or a notification. When your phone is in Silent mode, you will see the Silent mode icon vibrate, the Vibrate icon 8.2 in the Status bar at the top of the screen. If you set your phone to will be displayed.

9 SUNLIGHT MODE 9.1 ABOUT SUNLIGHT MODE When you are outdoors in direct sunlight, it may be difficult to see what’s on your screen. Sunlight mode makes your screen easy to read. You switch to and from Sunlight mode by simply pressing and holding the All Apps key will need to enable the Sunlight toggle in the phone’s settings first. in the Dock. 10 AIRPLANE MODE 10.1 ABOUT AIRPLANE MODE When you switch to Airplane mode, you cannot make or receive any calls, including emergency calls, or use other features that require network coverage. Also, you cannot adjust mobile network settings. However, you can use all of your phone’s features that do not require network coverage, e.g. listening to music, taking pictures, working on your documents, etc. When your phone is in Airplane mode, you will see the Airplane mode icon 10.2 in the Status bar.

11 HOME SCREEN AND ITS ELEMENTS 11.1 ABOUT HOME SCREEN When you press the Home key (the physical key right below the screen), you see your main Home screen. Here, you can place your favorite applications, widgets, shortcuts, and other items that you use the most. You can add additional Home screens if you need more space for your apps and widgets. From any Home screen, you can access all the features of your phone.
Whenever you view a Home screen you will see the following elements: • The Status bar at the top of the screen, displaying time, notification icons and status icons • The Google Search bar below the Status bar - from here you can search your phone and the web • Apps and/or widgets that you’ve placed on the Home screen • The Dock with the Dock icons at the bottom of the screen You can personalize your Home screen by changing the wallpaper, adding more app shortcuts and widgets, rearranging the items on the H
Close the Status bar “Quick settings” icon To close the Status bar, do any of the following: »» Swipe your finger up from the bottom of the screen. »» Touch the Back key (the bottom right corner of the phone). SETTINGS ICON WHAT IT MEANS HOW IT WORKS Wi-FI Touch the icon to quickly turn Wi-Fi ON or OFF. Touch & hold the icon to access Wi-Fi settings (see “25 Wi-Fi networks” on page 114). Bluetooth Touch the icon to quickly turn Bluetooth ON or OFF. Touch & hold the icon to access Bluetooth settings (see “26 Bluetooth” on page 118). Display brightness Touch the icon to quickly adjust the brightness of the display. Touch & hold the icon to access display settings.
11.3 GOOGLE SEARCH™ BAR WITH GOOGLE NOW™ At the top of any Home screen, just below the Status bar, there is the Google Search bar. The search bar allows you to search both your phone and the Internet. The first time you use the Search bar, you will be asked to join Google Now. You can choose whether you join now or later. The Google Now feature gets you just the right information at just the right time, e.g.

THE DOCK AND THE DOCK ICONS At the bottom of any Home screen - just above the Menu, Home and Back keys - you see the Dock with the Dock icons.
Switch to and from Sunlight mode You can also use the All Apps key as the Sunlight mode toggle. »» On any Home screen, touch & hold in the Dock to turn Sunlight mode on or off. Please note that before you can use the All Apps key to switch to and from Sunlight mode, you will need to enable the Sunlight toggle in the settings first as described in section “Sunlight mode” (see page 50). Remove an app from the Dock 1 2 Touch and hold the app you want to remove.
11.5 PERSONALIZE YOUR HOME SCREEN Move your apps around 1 2 3 Touch and hold an app icon. Without lifting your finger, slide the app icon to a new position. Lift your finger. Add a new app icon 1 2 3 Open the All Apps screen by touching in the middle of the Dock on any Home screen. On the All Apps screen, touch and hold an app’s icon. When the Home screen appears, drag your app to the desired position and lift your finger to drop the app.
Add a wallpaper 1 2 3 4 Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home screen. Touch “Wallpapers”. Select a wallpaper you want to add. Touch “Set wallpaper”. Create a folder You can create a folder that contains several apps both on a Home screen and in the Dock. 1 2 3 Touch and hold an app. Without lifting your finger, move the app over another app. Lift your finger. Remove an item from the Home screen 1 2 Touch and hold the item on the Home screen.
Add a new Home screen If you need more space for your items on the Home screen, you can extend the main Home screen with additional Home screens. 1 2 3 Touch and hold an app or a widget you want to move to a new screen. Without lifting your finger, drag the item all the way to the right edge of the screen. Lift your finger to drop the item on the new screen.

Touch “Home screen settings”. 1 Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home screen until symbols “Wallpapers”, “Widgets” and “Settings” appear along the bottom of the screen. Touch the Settings icon in the bottom right corner.
12 MANAGE YOUR APPS 12.1 THE ALL APPS SCREEN The All Apps screen is where all the apps installed on your phone are displayed. From the All Apps screen you can open your apps, move app icons to any of your Home screens or to the Dock, uninstall apps and get more apps. To view the All Apps screen: 1 2 On any Home screen, touch the Lumigon logo in the middle of the Dock. Swipe with your finger left and right across the screen to view all the installed apps.
12.3 VIEW YOUR RECENTLY USED APPS You can view a list of the apps you accessed recently. From this list, you can quickly switch from a current app to another. »» Press & hold the Home key – your recently used apps will appear in a vertical stack. When viewing the list of your recently used apps, you can do the following: »» »» »» »» 12.4 To scroll through the list of the apps, swipe up or down with your finger. To open an app on the list, touch it.
Remove an app from a folder 1 2 Open the folder by touching it. Touch & hold the app icon you want to remove. 3 Without moving your finger, slide the app toward the Remove icon 4 Lift your finger to drop the app over the Remove icon at the top of the screen. . You can use the same technique to remove the whole folder from a Home screen or the Dock. 12.5 CHANGE AN APP’S SETTINGS Most apps allow you to adjust their individual settings.
12.7 FIND MORE APPS ON GOOGLE PLAY™ Google Play is an online entertainment store from Google. This is where you find new Android apps and games for your phone. Some apps on Google Play are free, and some are paid. Apps that can be downloaded for free have a “FREE“ label. You can access Google Play both from the Web and directly from your phone. To access Google Play on the phone, you use the Google Play Store app . Google Play requires that you sign in with your Google Account.
12.9 UNINSTALL APPS If you no longer need an app that you’ve downloaded from Google Play, you can easily uninstall it. If the app was purchased, you can always re-install it later. For details, see subsection”Reinstall an app” (see page 70). Uninstall an app from the All Apps screen 1 2 On a Home screen, touch the Lumigon logo in the Dock to open the All Apps screen. Touch and hold an app that you want to uninstall.
12.10 UPDATE AN APP You can update apps or allow apps to be updated automatically on your smartphone. To update your apps, you use the Google Play Store app installed on your phone. Update apps manually 1 Open the Google Play Store app 2 3 Touch the Navigation drawer icon in the top left corner. In the Navigation drawer, touch “My apps” to view your downloaded apps. Apps with available updates are labeled with “Update”. Touch the app you want to update. Touch “Update”. Touch “Accept”. 4 5 6 .
Set auto-updates to use mobile data and Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi only 1 Open the Google Play Store app 2 3 4 5 Touch the Navigation drawer icon in the top left corner. In the Navigation drawer, touch “Settings”. Touch “Auto-update apps”. Touch the desired option. 12.11 . REINSTALL AN APP If you uninstall a previously downloaded or purchased app, you can always easily find it and reinstall it from Google Play without purchasing it again (if it was a paid app). 1 Open the Google Play Store app .
13 ONSCREEN KEYBOARD 13.1 ENTERING TEXT AND SYMBOLS When you need to enter text on your phone, you type text using the onscreen keyboard. In some apps, the onscreen keyboard opens automatically. In others, you have to touch where you want to type, and the keyboard pops up. To close the keyboard, touch the Back key. »» To enter text, simply touch the letters, numbers or symbols on the onscreen keyboard.
13.2 CHANGE KEYBOARD SETTINGS You can change the keyboard language and other keyboard settings like auto-correction, vibrations or sound on key press, personal dictionaries, etc. in the phone’s settings. 1 2 3 4 5 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. In the section “Personal”, touch “Language & input”. Find a section called “Keyboard & input methods”. The “Default” section displays the default language of your keyboard.
13.4 BASIC TEXT EDITING Move the insertion point 1 2 Touch where you want to type. The cursor blinks in the new position, and a blue tab appears below it. Drag the blue tab to move the cursor to a new position. Copy, cut and paste text 1 2 3 4 5 Double-tap a word in your text. The word highlights and a blue tab at each end appears. Drag the tabs to adjust your selection. »» To copy the selected text, touch the “Copy” icon »» To cut the selected text, touch the “Cut” icon . .
14 CONTACTS AND THE PEOPLE APP 14.1 ADDING CONTACTS ON YOUR PHONE You use the People app to view your contacts, create new contacts, edit your contacts’ details, import/export contacts, search for a particular contact, etc. Moreover, you can call, text and email your contacts directly from the People app.
If you haven’t already signed in with your Google Account, do the following: 1 2 3 4 5 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. In the “ACCOUNTS” section, touch “+ Add account”. Touch “Google”. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter information about your account. Once you’ve added your Google Account, you can check the synchronization settings for your Google contacts. You can enable and disable the synchronization (sync) of contacts.
Import contacts from a SIM card 1 Install your nano SIM card in your phone (see how in either the “Quick start guide” that came with your phone or section “Getting started” in this user manual). 2 3 4 5 6 Open the People app . Touch the Menu key (=). Touch “Import/export”. Touch “Import from SIM card”. If you are asked to choose an account, touch the account where you want to add the contacts. »» To import contacts one at a time, touch the individual contacts you want to import.
14.2 MANAGE YOUR CONTACTS Change what contacts are displayed By default, all the contacts from all your accounts that you’ve added on your phone (e.g. Google, Skype, etc.) are displayed in the “All” tab You can also use this tab to view only contacts from a specific account or a group or a custom set of contacts. 1 Open the People app 2 Touch the “All” tab 3 4 5 6 7 Touch the Menu key (=) or the “Overflow” icon . Touch “Contacts to display”.

Add a picture to a contact’s details 1 Open your contact in the People app 2 3 Touch the Menu key (=) or the “Overflow” icon Touch “Edit”. 4 Touch the large gray icon »» »» . . right below the contact’s name. To add a picture by taking a new photo, touch “Take photo”.
Send all calls from a contact to voicemail 1 Open your contact in the People app 2 3 Touch the Menu key (=) or the “Overflow” icon Tick off “All calls to voicemail” by touching it. . . Search for a contact 1 Open the People app 2 3 Touch the search icon at the bottom of the screen. Start typing the name of your contact in the search box. As you type, contacts with matching names appear below the search box. Touch the contact in the list to open its details. 4 .
Add a contact widget to the Home screen By adding a Contact widget to the Home screen you will have direct access to a particular contact’s details from the Home screen. You can also add a “Direct dial” widget that lets you dial a particular contact’s number with a single touch on the Home screen, or a “Direct message” widget that gives you one-touch access to messaging with the contact.
Create a new group and add contacts to it 1 Open the People app 2 Touch the “Groups” tab 3 4 Touch the “Add group” icon in the bottom right corner. If you have several accounts on your phone, touch the name of the account under which to create the group. You can also choose to store your new group only locally on your phone. In the “Group’s name” field, type the new group’s name. In the “Type person’s name” field, start typing a name.
15 CALLING 15.1 PLACING A PHONE CALL You can place calls both from the Phone app , the People app , or other apps or widgets that display contact information. Usually, wherever you see a phone number, you can touch it to dial it, e.g. in a text message or an e-mail. Call by dialing a number 1 Open the Phone app 2 3 Touch the dial pad icon at the bottom of the screen. Touch the keys on the dial pad to enter the number.

RECEIVING A PHONE CALL When you receive a phone call, touch and hold the white phone icon screen. The following icons will appear on the screen: »» - reject the call and send it to voicemail »» - reject the call and send a pre-set text message to the caller »» - answer the call Without lifting your finger, slide the white phone icon in the middle of the toward one of the icons.
Manage your call During a call, several icons appear along the bottom of your screen: Make another call separately from the first call, which is put on hold Touch to open the dial pad Touch to control the audio output Touch to put the call on hold Touch to mute the microphone Answer another incoming call »» As with any incoming call, touch & hold the white phone icon and slide it towards one of the icons on the screen to either answer the call, respond with a text message, or send the call to voicemai
Switch between apps while in call While in call, you can also switch between apps - for example, to look up information on the Internet or read an email, etc. When you switch to a different application, a phone icon »» appears in the Status bar, indicating that there is a call in progress. To return to the Phone app while a call is in progress, open the Status bar by swiping down from the top of the screen, and touch the name of the person you are calling in the Notifications panel.
15.4 CALL LOG The Call log is a list of all the calls you have placed, received, or missed. From here, you can quickly redial a number, return a call, or add a number to your contacts. Work with your Call log 1 Open the Phone app 2 Touch the “Call log” icon . at the bottom of the screen. • The red arrow indicates a missed call • The blue arrow • The green arrow indicates a received call indicates an outgoing call 3 For more information about a call, touch the name/number in the call log.
15.5 CHANGE CALL SETTINGS The Phone app allows you to adjust a number of call settings, e.g. fixed dialing numbers, quick responses, voicemail settings, automatic handsfree, call forwarding, etc. 1 Open the Phone app . 2 3 4 Touch the overflow icon in the bottom right corner. Touch “Settings”. Touch the setting you want to adjust. Another way to access call settings: 1 2 3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. In the “Device” section, touch “Call settings”.
16 MESSAGING (SMS AND MMS) 16.1 ABOUT THE MESSAGING APP You use the Messaging App to send and read both text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages. You may need to check with your service provider whether your service plan includes MMS. As a default, whenever a new message arrives, you will receive a notification in the Status bar displaying this icon: . All the messages to and from the same contact person are displayed in a single message thread or a conversation.
Another way to open a new message: 1 2 Touch the Messaging icon on a Home or All Apps screen. Touch the message in the list to open it. NB: Unread messages are bold. Reply to a message 1 2 3 Open the message you want to reply to. Touch the “Type message” field, and an onscreen keyboard will appear. Touch the letters on the onscreen keyboard to type your message. 4 When you are finished, touch the “Send” icon to send your message. Send a new text message (SMS) 1 Open the Messaging app .
Send a multimedia message (MMS) The procedure for sending MMS messages is the same as for any text message (SMS) (described above). The only difference is that you attach a picture, video, audio, etc. to your message. 1 2 Open the Messaging app . Start creating your new message as described above. 3 4 To attach a file to your message, touch the “Attach” icon in the upper right corner.
16.3 MANAGE YOUR MESSAGES Copying, forwarding, locking and deleting a message 1 2 3 Open your message in the Messaging app . Touch and hold the message. In the “Message options” dialog that opens, touch the desired option, e.g. copy text, forward, delete, etc. Deleting a whole message thread or several message threads at once 1 2 In the Messaging app , touch and hold a message thread you want to delete. If you want to delete several threads, touch the desired threads to select them.
16.4 CHANGE MESSAGING SETTINGS Accessing the Messaging settings 1 Open the Messaging app 2 3 Touch the Menu key (=) or the “Overflow” icon Touch “Settings”. . .
17 ACCOUNTS AND DATA SYNCHRONIZATION 17.1 ACCOUNT TYPES You can add multiple Google Accounts and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync accounts on your phone. Depending on the apps you download, you can also add other kinds of accounts, e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype, etc. Some accounts can be added through the “Accounts” settings, whereas other accounts can be added using an app that works with those kinds of accounts.
17.2 GOOGLE ACCOUNTS - ADDING, REMOVING, SYNCING The first time you turn on and set up your phone, you are prompted to sign in with your Google Account or, if you don’t already have one, to create one. If you skipped this step in the setup process, you can add your Google Account any time later.
Remove a Google Account If you remove a Google Account from your phone, the account and all the information associated with it will be deleted from your phone, including email, contacts, calendar events, settings, etc. 1 2 3 4 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. In the “Accounts” section, touch “Google”. Touch the name of the account you want to remove. 5 6 7 In the “Sync screen”, touch the Menu key (=) or the “Overflow” icon Touch “Remove account”.
Change Google Account settings The Google Settings app gives you shortcuts to various settings related to your Google Account, including Google+, Google location settings, Google Now, Google ads, etc. You can also access these settings in the following way: 1 2 3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. Under “ACCOUNTS”, touch “Google”. To change Gmail account settings, do the following: 1 Open the Gmail app 2 3 4 Touch the Navigation drawer icon in the top left corner.
17.3 MICROSOFT EXCHANGE ACCOUNTS - ADDING, REMOVING, SYNCING Set up an Exchange account If you have a corporate Microsoft Exchange account, here is how to set it up: 1 Contact your organization’s e-mail administrator for the following details: • Server address • Port • Security type 2 3 4 5 On a Home screen of your phone, touch the Menu key (=) > Touch “System settings” > In the “Accounts” section, touch “+ Add account” > Touch “Corporate”.
Once you’ve added your Exchange account, your email associated with this account will appear in the Email app associated with your Exchange account will appear in the Calendar app app , your calendar(s) , and your Exchange account contacts will appear in the People . Remove an Exchange account If you remove an Exchange account from your phone, the account and all the information associated with it will be deleted from your phone, including email, contacts, calendar events, settings, etc.
Change Exchange account settings 1 2 3 4 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. Under “Accounts”, touch “Corporate”. Touch “Account settings”. To change Email account settings, do the following: 1 Open the Email app 2 3 4 Touch the Menu key (=) or the “Overflow” icon . Touch “Settings”. For general Email settings, touch “General settings”. The changes you make here will apply to all the Email accounts you add on your phone.
18 BACKING UP YOUR DATA 18.1 ABOUT BACKUP SERVICE Your phone has a built-in Android Backup Service that allows you to back up settings and other data associated with one or more of your Google Accounts, such as apps, Wi-Fi passwords, bookmarks, etc. This way, if you need to factory reset your phone or switch to a new one, you can restore your data for any accounts that were previously backed up.
18.3 DISABLING BACKUP You can always stop backing up your Wi-Fi passwords, bookmarks and other settings and app data. If you disable backup as described below, all copies of your data on Google servers will be erased. 1 2 3 4 5 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. Under “Personal”, touch “Backup & reset”. Remove the check mark next to “Back up my data” by touching it. To confirm, touch “OK”.
19 FACTORY RESET 19.1 ABOUT FACTORY RESET When you perform a factory reset, you erase all your personal data from internal storage, including information about your Google Account, any other accounts, your system and app settings, any downloaded applications, and your music, photos, videos, and other files. Please note that you cannot reverse this action, so make sure to back up your data before performing a factory reset. 19.2 1 2 3 4 5 6 19.
Restore previously backed up data 1 2 During the first setup process, sign in with the Google Account that you used to back up your data. In the “Back up and restore” screen, you have the option to restore your previously backed up data. Tick off “Restore from my Google Account to this phone”. Your data will be restored to your phone automatically.
20 QUICKTOUCH 20.1 ABOUT QUICKTOUCH QuickTouch is a special Lumigon feature that gives you shortcuts to up to five features or apps that you configure yourself. What makes QuickTouch smart is that you can quickly access your QuickTouch shortcuts no matter what you are doing on your phone - even if you are using another app. You access the QuickTouch shortcuts from the QuickTouch area that is located right above the Home key at the bottom of your screen (see image below).
20.2 CONFIGURING QUICKTOUCH To start using the QuickTouch feature, you will need to configure it in the phone’s settings first. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 20.3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. Under “Device”, touch “QuickTouch”. In the upper right corner, slide the switch to the ON position. Touch “Number of shortcuts” to choose the number of QuickTouch shortcuts you want have access to.
21 ACTIONKEY 21.1 ABOUT ACTIONKEY ActionKey is a physical key right above the touchscreen and is one of the unique Lumigon features. You can program the ActionKey to perform specific actions in specific situations, e.g. turning the flashlight on and off, launching a specific app, silencing an incoming call, turning the speaker on during a call, etc. This way you have a one-press access to a predefined set of functions. Some of the actions can even be used when the screen is locked, e.g. flashlight.
21.2 CONFIGURING ACTIONKEY To start using the ActionKey, you will need to configure its actions in the phone’s settings first. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 21.3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. Under “Device”, touch “ActionKey”. In the upper right corner, slide the switch to the ON position. For some of the ActionKey actions, e.g. turning flashlight ON and OFF, to be available when the screen is turned off, tick off “Enable when screen is OFF”.
21.4 USING THE ACTIONKEY IN THE CAMERA APP When you are in the Camera app, you can use the ActionKey to quickly switch between Camera and Video modes and to switch between the cameras on the front and back of the phone: »» To switch between Camera and Video modes, press the ActionKey. »» To switch between the front and back cameras, press and hold the ActionKey until the action occurs.
22 HANDWAVE 22.1 ABOUT HANDWAVE Handwave is a special Lumigon feature on your phone that allows you to operate some functions of your phone without actually touching it. For example, you can use Handwave to scroll through your Home screens or your pictures in the Gallery app, accept or silence an incoming call, or snooze your alarm clock in the morning by moving your hand across the screen without touching it. Please note that using the Handwave feature increases the power consumption of your phone.
When Handwave is on, a white Handwave icon is displayed in the Status bar: Handwave icon in the Status bar 22.3 CONFIGURING HANDWAVE You decide which Handwave actions are enabled on your phone and can enable and disable the individual actions anytime. Once you’ve configured the desired Handwave actions and turned Handwave on as described above, you simply move your hand across the screen without touching it to use the configured Handwave actions.
23 GLOVE MODE 23.1 ABOUT GLOVE MODE Glove mode is a special feature on your Lumigon phone that allows you to use the touchscreen with your gloves on - a handy feature especially in the wintertime. 23.2 TURNING GLOVE MODE ON AND OFF To switch to and from Glove mode, do any of the following: 1 2 3 Open the Status bar by dragging it down with your finger. Touch the “Quick settings” icon in the top right corner. Touch the “Glove mode” tile to turn Glove mode ON or OFF.
24 MOBILE NETWORKS 24.1 CONNECTING TO MOBILE NETWORKS In most cases, your phone will automatically connect to your network operator’s fastest available data network. In some cases, however, you may need to configure details for a specific operator. If you experience problems connecting, please check with your network operator for details. 24.
Options in mobile network settings • Data enabled - when ticked off, this option allows for data access for all available mobile networks. • Data roaming - when ticked off, this option allows for data access when you are outside of your network operator’s area (for example, when you are traveling to a foreign country). Please note that using data roaming is usually expensive.
25 WI-FI NETWORKS 25.1 ABOUT WI-FI Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that gives you access to the Internet. To use Wi-Fi, you connect to a wireless access point, a socalled “hotspot”. Some hotspots are open and anyone can connect to them. Others may have security features to ensure that only authorized users can connect to them. You may need to ask the network’s administrator for details.
To turn Wi-Fi ON and OFF from the phone’s system settings: 1 2 3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=). Touch “System settings”. Under “Wireless & networks”, slide the Wi-Fi switch to the “ON” position: When Wi-Fi is ON, a Wi-Fi icon appears in the Status bar: Wi-Fi icon in Status bar Connect to a Wi-Fi network When you turn Wi-Fi ON, the phone starts scanning for Wi-Fi networks within range and displays the detected networks in the Wi-Fi screen.
25.3 ADD, REMOVE AND MODIFY ADDED WI-FI NETWORKS Add a Wi-Fi network manually To use a Wi-Fi network that does not broadcast its name (SSID), you will need to manually add the network’s details on your phone as described below. You can also add a network in this manner when you are not within range. Once you’ve manually added a Wi-Fi network on your phone, your phone will remember this network along with any applicable security details, and connect to it automatically whenever it is within range.
Modify a network’s settings 1 2 3 4 5 If Wi-Fi is not already ON, turn Wi-Fi ON as described above. In the “Wi-Fi” screen, touch & hold a network’s name. Touch “Modify network”. Make your changes. Touch “Save”. TIP: To extend the battery life between charges, turn Wi-Fi OFF when you are not using it.
25.5 CONFIGURE PROXY SETTINGS FOR A WI-FI NETWORK Some network administrators require you to connect to internal or external network resources via a proxy server. By default, the Wi-Fi networks you add are not configured to connect via a proxy, but you can change that for each Wi-Fi network you have added. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 If Wi-Fi is not already ON, turn Wi-Fi ON as described above. In the “Wi-Fi” screen, touch & hold a network ‘s name. Touch “Modify network”. Tick off the “Show advanced options” box.
26 BLUETOOTH 26.1 ABOUT BLUETOOTH Bluetooth® is a short-range wireless communications technology used to communicate between devices over a distance of about 8 meters. The most common Bluetooth devices are headsets for making calls or listening to music, hands-free kits for cars, etc. The first time you use a new Bluetooth device, you need to “pair” your phone to it. The phone will remember the Bluetooth devices you previously paired it with. 26.
To turn Bluetooth ON and OFF from your phone’s system settings: 1 2 3 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key. Touch “System settings”. Under “Wireless & networks”, slide the Bluetooth switch to the ON position: When Bluetooth is ON, a Bluetooth icon appears in the Status bar: Bluetooth icon in the Status bar Pair your phone with a Bluetooth device Before you can connect to a Bluetooth device, you need to pair your phone with it. 1 2 3 4 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key. Touch “System settings”.
Connect to a previously paired Bluetooth device Once your phone is paired with a device, the two will stay paired unless you unpair them. You can connect to a paired device manually – for example, to switch between Bluetooth devices or to reconnect to a device when it is back in range. 1 2 3 4 5 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key. Touch “System settings”. Under “Wireless & networks”, touch “Bluetooth”. Slide the Bluetooth switch to its ON position.
26.4 VISIBILITY TIMEOUT You can change for how long your phone stays visible for other Bluetooth devices. Adjusting your phone’s visibility 1 2 3 4 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key. Touch “System settings”. Under “Wireless & networks”, touch “Bluetooth”. 27 NOTIFICATION LIGHT 27.1 ABOUT NOTIFICATION LIGHT Your Lumigon smartphone is equipped with an LED light both on the front and back of the phone that can be used as a notification light. This way whenever you receive a new e-mail or a text message or have a missed call, the phone’s LED light will blink. You can enable and disable the notification light whenever you want. And you can also switch between two different types of notification light - breath and blink. 27.2 1 2 3 4 27.
28 USE YOUR PHONE AS A UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL 28.1 ABOUT THE REMOTE CONTROL FEATURE Your Lumigon smartphone is equipped with an infrared (IR) receiver that allows it to record IR commands from your existing IR remote controls and an IR transmitter that transmits these to your electronic equipment. This way you can turn your phone into a universal remote control that can operate your TV, audio and video equipment, Mac computer, etc. You use the built-in Remote app 28.
1 2 On a Home or All Apps screen, touch the Remote app icon . The first time you open the Remote app, a series of intro screens will be displayed: A. Touch to see the next intro screen. B. Touch “Done” to proceed. 3 When you touch “Done” on the intro screens, a “Create new remote” screen opens. Here, you will see a number of preset remote-control templates you can choose from, e.g. TV, Teletext, Audio, Video, etc. Scroll down to view all the templates, and touch the one you want to set up.
4 In the “Properties” screen, type the name of your remote control, e.g. TV (A.) and location, e.g. living room (B.). 29 BEHAVIOR CONTROL 29.1 ABOUT BEHAVIOR CONTROL Behavior Control is a special Lumigon feature that allows you to configure different behavior profiles for your phone dependent on time and place. You can use the feature on your Lumigon phone by itself or together with a Lumigon dock.

Slide the switch in the top right corner to the ON position: Touch the name of the profile you want to configure. 30 MONITOR AND OPTIMIZE BATTERY USAGE 30.1 CHECK BATTERY LEVEL AND USAGE Checking battery level The fastest and most convenient way to check the battery level is by opening the Status bar: 1 Open the Status bar by dragging it down. 2 3 Touch the “Quick settings” icon in the top right corner. Turn Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS off To save battery power, turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS when you are not using them. Remove the check mark next to “Use 4G/LTE networks”. 31 UPDATE YOUR PHONE 31.1 ABOUT UPDATING Your Lumigon phone has a built-in updater feature that allows you to easily check for the newest firmware updates that are distributed over the air. These firmware updates may contain various fixes and new features for your phone. Whenever a new update is available, you will receive a notification in the Status bar. Then you’ll be able to download and install the update. You can also check for updates manually. 31.

Tick off “Automatic download” if you want your phone to download updates automatically. Tick off “Install automatically” if you want your phone to install the downloaded updates automatically. Tick off “Use mobile networks” to allow the phone to download updates using both Wi-Fi and mobile data (NB: You may incur additional charges for using mobile data.
32 TAKE PHOTOS AND RECORD VIDEOS 32.1 ABOUT THE CAMERA APP To take pictures and record videos with your phone, you use the Camera app that combines a camera and a camcorder. Your Lumigon smartphone is equipped with two cameras - one on the front of the phone and one on the back. The front camera is perfect for taking pictures and recording videos of yourself. Both cameras are equipped with a flash, which allows for sharp and well-lit photos even in low-light conditions.
Open the camera by using the physical Camera key »» Press and hold the Camera key located on the right side of the phone until the Camera app opens. NB: This action requires that the screen is on and unlocked. Open the Camera when the screen is locked »» 32.3 If the phone is in Sleep mode, wake up the screen by pressing the Power or Menu key first, and then swipe with your finger from the right edge of the screen to the left across the screen.

33 LISTEN TO MUSIC 33.1 ABOUT THE PLAY MUSIC APP Your Lumigon smartphone comes with a built-in Google Play Music app that makes it easy to discover, play, store and share the music you love. If you sign in with your Google Account, any music you have uploaded or purchased on Google Play using this account will be automatically added to your library. If you choose not to sign in with a Google Account, you will only be able to listen to music you have transferred to your smartphone (e.g. from a computer).
33.3 NAVIGATING THE PLAY MUSIC APP To navigate the Play Music app, you use the Navigation drawer. To open the Navigation drawer, touch the Navigation drawer icon top left corner. In the Navigation drawer you will find the following items: in the • Listen Now - find music based on what you have listened to recently, artists you like and music that you have purchased recently. • My Library - this is where all your music is gathered and categorized by genre, artist, album and song.
33.4 PLAYING MUSIC To play music, touch the album you would like to play, and then touch a song name. When your music is playing, you can control playback using the “Now playing” bar at the bottom of the screen. Touch the Menu icon add to queue, add to playlist, etc. next to albums and songs for more options, e.g.
33.5 SEARCH YOUR MUSIC 1 Open the Play Music app 2 3 Touch the Navigation drawer icon in the top left corner. In the Navigation drawer, touch “My Library”. . 4 5 6 Touch the Search icon in the top right corner. Start typing your search words in the search field. As you type, matching items will be displayed. Touch the item you are searching for to open it.
34 CONNECT TO A COMPUTER 34.1 CONNECT TO A WINDOWS COMPUTER You can use the supplied USB cable to connect your Lumigon smartphone to a Windows computer and transfer music, pictures, and other files in both directions. This connection uses the MTP protocol, which is supported by most recent versions of Windows, so you don’t need any extra software to connect your phone to your Windows computer. 1 2 3 Connect your phone to your computer via the USB cable that came with your phone.
2 3 4 5 Transfer. Connect your phone to your Mac computer via the USB cable that came with your phone. If you are using Android File Transfer for the first time, double-click it to open it. After that it will open automatically whenever you connect your phone to your computer via USB. Android File Transfer opens a new window that displays the contents of your phone. Storage space details are displayed at the bottom of the window.
35 MONITOR AND CONTROL MOBILE DATA USAGE 35.1 DATA USAGE SETTINGS Data usage settings allow you to track your data usage, set a data usage warning and a data usage limit. You can also restrict data usage by app. Depending on your subscription, setting a data usage limit can help you prevent additional charges for mobile data. Once the set limit is reached, mobile data will be disabled on your phone. For information on the applicable mobile data rates, contact your service provider.

35.3 RESTRICT DATA USAGE BY APP Some apps transfer data in the background. This means that even when you are not actually using the app, it may send and receive data. To reduce your overall data usage you may want to consider restricting such background data usage for individual apps. NOTE: The method described below is a drastic measure that may affect an app’s performance or cause it to malfunction.
36 MANAGE YOUR DOWNLOADS 36.1 ABOUT THE DOWNLOADS APP You can use the pre-installed Downloads app share your downloads. to manage most items you download on your phone. Once the Wi-Fi hotspot toggle is added to your Notifications panel, you can turn Wi-Fi hotspot ON and OFF by simply touching the Wi-Fi hotspot icon . To quickly access the tethering and portable hotspot settings, touch and hold the Wi-Fi hotspot icon .
