BACKING UP YOUR DATA
ABOUT BACKUP SERVICE
Your phone has a built-in Android Backup Service that allows you to back up settings and other data associated with one or more of your
Google Accounts, such as apps, Wi-Fi passwords, bookmarks, etc. This way, if you need to factory reset your phone or switch to a new one,
you can restore your data for any accounts that were previously backed up. Some third-party apps also take advantage of the backup feature,
so if you reinstall a third-party app, you can restore your data, too.
ADDING A BACKUP GOOGLE ACCOUNT
When you sign in to your Google Account during the rst setup of your phone, you are asked whether you want to use the account for backing
up your data. If you skipped this option during the setup, you can always add a Google Account for backing up your data later.
1 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
2 Touch “System settings”.
3 Under “Personal”, touch “Backup & reset”.
4 Touch “Backup account” and follow the onscreen instructions.
The backup settings described in this chapter do NOT make a backup of
your photos, videos, music and other les. You can automatically back up your
photos and videos to by turning the feature on in the Photos
app
. As for document les and folders, you can upload them to
(the Drive app can be downloaded from Google Play Store
).
