SCREEN LOCK
ABOUT SCREEN LOCK
To secure your phone and protect it from unauthorized access, you may want to set up a screen lock. When enabled, the screen lock will be
required to unlock the phone every time it is turned on and/or when it wakes up from Sleep mode. When the screen locks, you can still receive
calls, SMS and MMS messages, use the ActionKey, use the camera, listen to music and adjust the volume using the Volume keys.
You can choose between several screen-lock options that have different degrees of security.
• SLIDE - no security
• FACE UNLOCK - minimal security
• PATTERN - minimal security, but more secure than Face Unlock
• PIN - strong security
• - the most secure screen lock option
SET UP A SCREEN LOCK
1 On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
2 Touch “System settings”.
3 In the “Personal” section, touch “Security”.
4 In the “Screen security” section, touch “Screen lock”.
5 Select the desired screen lock.
6 Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your screen lock.
Once you’ve set up a screen lock, you can choose whether the phone locks:
• instantly when you press the Power key to go to Sleep mode (useful if you have set a longer time for automatic lock),
• immediately when the screen goes to sleep after being inactive for a set period of time, or
• after a certain number of seconds or minutes after it goes to sleep.
