Product Binning and Labeling Purpose of Product Binning In the manufacturing of semiconductor products, there is a variation of performance around the average values given in the technical data sheets. For this reason, Lumileds bins the LED components for luminous flux, color and forward voltage (Vf). Decoding Product Bin Labeling LUXEON mid-power emitters are labeled using a four digit alphanumeric code (CAT code) depicting the bin values for emitters packaged on a single reel.
