Figure 14. Select Qualitative Formula
Qualitative Formula Synopsis:
For qualitative analysis the Luminex
100 IS software uses the algorithm:
Where:
FI = Fluorescent Intensity
Ki = a “Quali” value entered in lot information to determine
the value of the qualitative assay standard.
The “Quali” value determines a cutoff or threshold. This, in
conjunction with ranges using the Lum Qual Formula, Adv Qual
Formula, or an edited range specific for your assay, helps to
determine qualitative results for unknown samples.
Two predefined formulas using the algorithm are included in the
system. You can use them as is or edit their range values to meet
your requirements.
Use formula as is: Enter the Lum Qual Ki (Quali) values in lot
information as “1”; enter the “Ki” (Quali) value for the Adv Lum
Qual as “20” to correspond to the default values and ranges. See
Table 4 on page 28.
Edit Formula: When you edit a formula, you select an existing
formula, edit its range values, then save it under a new name.
The name then displays in the Qualitative Analysis Method list.
To edit, highlight Lum Qual Formula or Adv Qual Formula
under Qualitative Analysis Method. See Figure 14. Then, select
Edit Formula. The Range Editor dialog box opens displaying
