LUX FLOORING LUXURY VINYL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Lux Luxury Vinyl Tile normally requires only a minimum of routine maintenance to retain its original “like new” appearance and high
performance characteristics for many years.
GENERAL PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE:
1. Remove any wet adhesive from the face of the flooring material when installing. Use a clean cloth moistened with a solution of warm,
clear tap water and dishwashing detergent.
2. Before exposing the flooring to traffic, broom sweep the installation to remove debris and grit that could be ground into the surface and
cause scratches and damage.
3. Provide smooth, non-staining, rust proof, flat-surfaced, metal or plastic cups two inches or greater in width. Place beneath legs of heavy
furniture and equipment to spread the weight load, reduce indentations, and limit scratches and damage.
4. Remove small diameter “buttons” from the ends of chair legs and substitute smooth, non-staining, rust proof, flat-surfaced felt or silicon
glides with minimum diameter of one inch.
5. Equip bottoms of swivel chair legs and rolling stock with casters two inches or greater in width, which has the same applicable
characteristics as the furniture cups referred to in #3 above.
6. Avoid direct exposure to lit ends of cigarettes, lit matches and extremely hot areas of any material, as these can cause permanent burn
marks and discoloration.
7. Be aware that scratches and damage can occur from protruding nail-heads on undersides of footwear, and that severe abrasion can occur
from sharp projections on undersides of loads that are pulled, pushed, or dragged over flooring.
8. Avoid tracking asphalt or tar from driveways in and onto the flooring. A chemical reaction may occur and cause a permanent stain on the
flooring.
9. Limit exposure time to direct sunlight to avoid possible discoloration. Use of sun-blocking window treatments is suggested.
l0. The extreme high forces exerted by women’s stiletto-style high heel traffic and other dynamic loads of l,000 psi or more can visibly
indent resilient floors. Such indentations will adversely affect performance, and Lux Flooring will not accept claims for indentations caused
by heavy point loading.
INITIAL CLEANING OF NEWLY INSTALLED FLOORS:
Before exposing the flooring to traffic, broom sweep the installation to remove debris and grit
that could be ground into the surface and cause scratches and damage. A quick sweep is all you
need and you’re done!
CLEANING OF SOILED FLOORS:
Use any multipurpose cleaner and follow instructions on container for desired results. It’s that easy!
WARNING:
l. Never use a machine scrubber or floor buffer.
2. Never use a steel pad to remove stains.
3. Never drag heavy items (furniture, sofas, etc.) on the floor. Use silicon gliders.
