Connecting the initiators
No other terminals are needed to feed the
terminals of the initiators, for example. All
you need is an additional base element. A
rule of thumb is that for each terminal
block you need n + 1 base elements as
well as a strip of n + 1 ZVL 1.5 BR (+)
distribution elements and a strip of n + 1
ZVL BL (-) distribution elements.
Pluggable cross-connection system
The signal lines can be branched using the
familiar ZQV 2.5 pluggable cross-
connection system.

Easy to modify
Changes to suit the individual application
can be done on site. The distribution strip
can easy be removed with a screwdriver,
even with the wires in place.
Connecting actuators
To connect n actuators with PE you need
n base elements plus one PE base
element. The minus and earth are connec-
ted to the corresponding n+1 distribution
strip. When the ZVL 1.5 PE is attached to
the mounting rail the pin contact of the PE
base element contacts with the socket
contact of the ZVL 1.5 PE. For design
reasons the PE base element must be
attached to the rail as shown.
Minimum space required
The TOP connection and Weidmüller’s
tension spring technology permit more
compact terminals which are ideal for tight
and almost inaccessible spaces.
