Major and minor are frequently referred to the titles of compositions in their foreign language form,
especially in reference to the key of a piece of musik.
5.3.1.4 Key
A key is a hierarchy of tones (scale), which is based
on a basic tone (tonic). Examples for keys: C-minor: minor-scale with the basic tone C (comprising
the tones C, D, Es F, G, As, B, C), Fis-major: major-scale with the basic tone Fis (comprising the
tones Fis, Gis, Ais, H, Cis, Dis, Eis, Fis).
5.3.1.5 Intervals
In music theory, an interval is the relationship between two notes or pitches, the lower and higher
members of the interval. It often directly refers to those two notes (otherwise known as a dyad).
Larger intervals are described as wide and smaller ones as narrow (for example, a sixth is wider
than a third). But these are only relative terms.
