A. Ashorterpower‐supplycord(ordetachedpower‐supplycord)isprovidedtoreducethe

riskresultingfrombeingentangledinortrippingoveralongercord.

B. Longerdetachablepower‐supplycordsorextensioncordsareavailableand

maybe

usedifcareisexercisedintheiruse.

C. Ifalongdetachablepower‐supplycordsorextensioncordisused:

1. Themarkedelectricalratingofthedetachablepower‐supplycordorextensioncord

shouldbeatleastequalorgreatthantheelectricalratingoftheappliance.

2. Iftheapplianceisagroundedtype,theextensioncordshouldbeagrounding‐type

3‐wirecord.

3. Thelongercordshouldbearrangedsothatitwillnotdrapeoverthecountertopor

tabletopwhereitcanbepulledonbychildrenortrippedover.
