SECTION 4 – FIRST AID MEASURES
First Aid Measures
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and treat systematically. Provide oxygen if breathing is difficult. Give artificial
respiration if the victim is not breathing. Immediately seek medical attention.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. If
irritation develops or persists, immediately seek medical attention.
Ingestion: Dilute with liquid unless the victim is unconscious or very drowsy. If vomiting spontaneously occurs, keep the
victim’s head below the hips to prevent aspiration into the lungs. Consult a physician, hospital or poison control center
and/or transport to an emergency facility immediately.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wipe excess from skin and flush with water using soap if available. If
irritation occurs or persists, immediately seek medical attention. Do not reuse contaminated clothing.
Most Important Symptoms and Effects (Acute and Delayed)
Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation.
Eye Contact: Causes serious eye irritation. Symptoms may include discomfort or pain, excess blinking and tear
production, with marked redness and swelling of the conjunctiva.
Ingestion: May be harmful if swallowed. May cause stomach distress, nausea, or vomiting.
Skin: Causes skin irritation. Symptoms may include redness, edema, drying, defatting and cracking of the skin. May
cause sensitization by skin contact.
Indication of any Immediate Medical Attention and Special Treatment Needed
Note to Physician: Treat symptomatically.
SECTION 5 – FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media
Suitable: Treat for surrounding material. Use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Unsuitable: None known.
Specific Hazards Arising from Chemical
Combustible. Clear fire area of unprotected personnel. Do not enter confined area without helmet, face shield, bunker
coat, gloves, rubber boots, and a positive pressure NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus. Products of
combustion include but are not limited to oxides of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide.
Protective Equipment and Precautions for Firefighters
Keep upwind of fire. Wear full fire fighting turn-out gear (full Bunker gear) and respiratory protection (SCBA).
SECTION 6 – ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal Precautions, Protective Equipment, and Emergency Procedures
Personal Precautions: Use personal protection recommended in Section 8. Isolate the hazard area and deny entry to
unnecessary and unprotected personnel.

Methods and Material for Containment and Cleaning Up
Contain and/or absorb spill with inert material (e.g. sand, vermiculite), then place in a suitable container. Do not flush to
sewer or allow to enter waterways. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Scoop up material and place
in a disposal container. Soak into absorbent material. Thoroughly wash the area with water after a spill or leak.
