Inserting batteries into the remote control 1 Open the battery compartment. 2 Place the batteries in the compartment with the correct polarity as indicated by “+“ and “-“ symbols. 3 Close the cover. English Changing the speakers’ sound level System Setup (DVD) You can change the speakers’ sound distribution to suit your surround sound needs. For example, if you are close to the left front speaker than the right front speaker, the left front speaker might seem “louder” than the right one. To adjust it, you must change the channel level for one or both speakers until the sound evens out.
Changing the TV display This setting is used to select the type of video connection between your DVD system and TV. 1 Press SETUP. 2 Select ‘GENERAL SETUP,’ then press OK. 3 Press 4 to select ‘VIDEO OUTPUT’, then press 2. 4 Use 34 keys to select your preference and press OK to confirm. 5 To close the menu, press SETUP MENU - - MAIN PAGE GENERAL SETUP press 2.
English Selecting the language for Audio/Subtitle/ Disc Menu You can select your preferred language settings so that this DVD system will automatically switches to the language for you whenever you load in a disc. If the language selected is not available on the disc, the disc’s default setting language will be used instead. 1 Press SETUP. 2 Press 4 to select ‘PREFERENCES,’ then press OK. ‘SUBTITLE’ or ‘DISC MENU’, then press 2.

English Setting the parental control level Changing the parental control password This feature lets you set a playback limitation level. Some DVDs may have a parental level assigned to the complete disc or to certain scenes on the disc. The rating levels are from 1 to 8 and are country dependent. You can prohibit the playing of certain discs that are not suitable for your children or have certain discs played with alternative scenes. The original preset password is ‘1234’. 1 Press SETUP.
IMPORTANT! – DVD discs and players are designed with regional restrictions. Before playing a disc, make sure the disc is for the same zone as your player. – Depending on the DVD or VIDEO CD, some operations may be different or restricted. – Do not push on the disc tray or put any objects other than discs on the disc tray. Doing so may cause the disc player to malfunction. – Do not move the disc player during playback, as doing so may damage the DVD system.
English Resuming playback from the last stopped point (DVD only) ● In stop mode and when a disc has not been ejected, press ÉÅ. To cancel the resume mode ● In stop mode, press Ç again. Helpful Hints: – When the player is disconnected from the power supply or the disc tray is opened, the resume option will be cancelled automatically. – The resume option may not be available on some discs. Repeat play mode You can only select the repeat play mode during playback.
● Press LANGUAGE to change the audio language and SUBTITLE to change the subtitle language from the selection available on the disc. ➜ The changes are only applied to the current disc, it will not change the default preset (see “Selecting the language for Audio/Subtitle/Disc Menu”.) Viewing from another angle If the disc contains sequences recorded from different camera angles, this allows you to view the picture from different angles. The selections of angle are depending on the disc format.
English Shuffle play mode You can playback CD tracks in random order. To shuffle play one CD: Stop playback. 1 2 Press SHUFFLE to turn on shuffle function. ➜ “SHUFFLE ON” is briefly displayed. 3 Press ÉÅ to start shuffle play. 4 To cancel shuffle play, press Ç twice. To shuffle play all CDs: ● Stop playback and press CD MODE, then follow the above steps 2-4. Program favorite tracks You can play the contents of the disc in the order you want by programming the order of the tracks to be played.
Tuning to radio stations 1 Press POWER ON•OFF to switch on the last selected source. 2 Press TUNER•BAND (or press SOURCE on the remote control repeatedly) to select TUNER mode. 3 Press TUNER•BAND again to select the desired band : Listening to preset radio stations ● In tuner mode, press à / á or use the numeric keypad (0-9, >10) to select the desired preset number. ➜ The preset number, radio frequency, and waveband are displayed. FM or AM.
Other Functions English Volume control Selecting Listening mode Adjust VOLUME button (or press VOL +/-) to increase or decrease the volume level. This DVD system has a built in Dolby Digital decoder. To listen through the headphones ● Connect the headphones plug to the PHONES n socket at the front of the DVD system. ➜ The speakers will be muted. To switch off the volume temporarily ● Press MUTE. ➜ “MUTE” icon appears. ● To restore the volume, press MUTE again.

Analog: Sound that has not been turned into numbers. Analog sound varies, while digital sound has specific numerical values. These jacks send audio through two channels, the left and right. Aspect ratio: The ratio of vertical and horizontal sizes of a displayed image. The horizontal vs. vertical ratio of conventional TVs. is 4:3, and that of wide-screens is 16:9. AUDIO OUT Jacks: Jacks on the back of the DVD System that send audio to another system (TV, Stereo, etc.).
