With this connection, you can: (1) use your VCR Remote Control to select channels; (2) program one or lnOrc
unscrambled channels for unattended recording; (3) view one channel while recording another.

With this connection, you can record and view any channel including scrambled channels. However channel
selection must be made at the cable company converter box. This means that channels cannot be changed using
the VCR Remote Control. Unattended recording is limited to one channel at a time, and you cannot view any
channel than the one you are recording.
To Record and View a Scrambled/Unscrambled Channel
1.Turn the VCR on and, if needed, set the VCR/TV button located on the front of the VCR to "VCR." (VCR
light will shine).
2. Using the VCR CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons, set the VCR channel to the output channel of the Cable
Converter Box. (If the Cable Converter Box is set to channel 3, the VCR should be set to channel 3. If the Box
is set to channel 4, the VCR should be set to channel 4).
3. Set the TV channel to the output channel of the VCR (channel 3 or 4).
4. Select the channel to be recorded or viewed at the Cable Converter Box.
Note: To do a Timer Recording, One Touch Recording (OTR), or Standby OTR using this hook up, select the
channel to be recorded at the Cable Converter Box. Leave the VCR on channel 3 or 4 (see step 2 above).
Follow all other Timer Recording and OTR instructions.
Remember: the Cable Converter Box must be ON during recording.
To Watch TV (with the VCR off)
1.Set the TV channel selector to the output channel of the Cable Converter Box.
2. Select the desired channel on the cable converter channel selector.
