Channel Memory
Programming Channels
Although your VCR may automatically
memorize the channels you receive when
you turn it on for the first time, this func-
tion lets you reprogram channels.

Press the MENU button to bring up the
main menu display.

If you have set up the TV GUIDE Plus+
system, go to step 4.
If you have not set it up, press the Number
1 button to select TV (if you have an anten-
na) or the Number 2 button to select
CABLE TV (if you have a cable connec-
tion). ON will appear to the right of your
choice.

Press the Number 3 button to select AUTO
PROGRAMMING. MEMORIZED
CHANNEL / PLEASE WAIT will appear
on-screen. The VCR will place all the
channels you receive into its memory.

Wait for a few minutes while the VCR pro-
grams channels. The channel numbers will
appear briefly on the display panel. When
programming is complete, AUTO SET
COMPLETED will appear on-screen. •
Then the programming of the lowest chan-
nel number placed in the VCR's memory
will appear on-screen. Now when you "
press the CH(annel) Up/Down buttons, you
will scan only through channels you °
receive.

TUNER SET UP.
• You can not enter the TUNER SET UP menu when you are in Line Input mode.
• Line Input mode will always be stored in the VCR's memory as channel 001
or 002. When you select channel 001 or 002 with the CH(annel) Up/Down
buttons or the Number buttons, AV REAR or AV FRONT will appear on the
screen and L1 or L2 will appear on the display panel of the VCR (see page
17for details).
• You cannotprogram channels ifa cable converter box is connected to a VCR
that is connected to a TV. lf you have this kind of connection, see pages 44-45
for details.
• lfyou press the Number 1 button or the Number 2 button at step 3, TV
GUIDE PLUS FUNCTION will flash on-screen for five seconds if you have
completed the TV GUIDE Plus+ setup.
To change selection of TV or CABLE 734,you must use the TV GUIDE
Plus+ system. See TV GUIDE Plus+ Setup section of the TV GUIDE Plus+
manual for more details.
