Cable Converter Box Code Setting

Within 30 seconds, press and release the
CBL button.

button, to see if the remote control
operates your cable converter box. If it
doesn't, go to step 2.

tons to enter your cable converter box's
two-digit code (from the list below).

• Although the remote control that comes with your VCR will work most
cable converter boxes, it is possible that the remote control will not
operate your cable converter box.
• If you had to program the remote control to operate your cable convert-
er box here, whenever you replace the batteries in the remote control,
you will have to program the remote control again.
• The remote control may not operate all of the functions of your cable
converter box. For example, some cable converter boxes may only be
turned on at the cable converter box.
Your VCR remote control may operate your
cable converter box. If the remote control does-
n't operate your cable converter box now, find
your brand of cable convener box on the list at
the left, then follow the steps below to program
your remote control accordingly.

Point the remote control at your cable conven-
er box and press the CBL button. Then, press
the POWER button. If your cable converter
box comes on, try the other cable converter box
buttons (see pages 14-15for details). If your
cable converter box doesn't come on, or if the
other buttons don't work, go to step 2.

Find the brand of your cable converter box on
the list at the left, and remember the two-digit
number to the right of it.

Press and release the MUTE button.

Within 30 seconds after releasing the MUTE but-
ton, press and release the CBL button.

Within 30 seconds after releasing the CBL but-
ton, use the Number buttons to enter the two-
digit code for your cable converter box. For
example, if you have a Zenith cable converter
box, press Number buttons 1, 3.

Try step 1 again. If the remote control works
your cable converter box, you're finished. If the
remote control still doesn't work your cable con-
verter box, repeat steps 2 - 5, using another code.
There is no
guarantee that the
remote control will
work your cable
converter box.
