Application:
MPI All Magnetic Grate (AMG series) magnets provide tramp metal protection in a wide variety of free-flowing product streams. They are ideal for use in gravity-fed
vertical chutes, hoppers, receiving areas and catch bins. AMG Grate Magnets are easy to install, and offer efficient, economical magnetic protection of equipment used
for grain milling, plastics molding, extruding or other processes. Additionally, they prevent damage caused by tramp metal and improve or maintain product quality
standards. Quick-Cleaning models feature removable magnetic elements, which act as a magnetizer for the grate.

Operation:
The product stream flows through two rows of magnetized 400 series stainless steel magnetic diverters. The diverters are seam welded to the nonmagnetic stainless
steel magnetic element housing. Tramp metal contaminants are captured and retained over the entire grate surface, providing 100% contact with the magnetic area.
Quick-Cleaning All Magnetic Grates (AMG-QC Series) are cleaned by simply removing the magnetic elements from the element housing, demagnetizing the entire
frame and allowing the tramp metal to fall off the diverters. Standard All Magnetic Grates (AMG Series) are lower in cost, but require more time-consuming manual
cleaning.
Standard Features:
• Powerful Ceramic permanent magnet
• 100% stainless steel enclosed design
• Two rows of diverters on 2" centers
• Rugged all-welded construction
Optional Features:
• High-energy Rare Earth magnet material
• Non-standard diverter spacing
• Non-standard alloy stainless steel enclosures
• Special sizes and mounting available
Selection:
MPI's All-Magnetic Grates are available in either Standard or Quick-Clean models. Quick-Cleaning models feature removable magnetic elements, which act as a
magnetizer for the grate. Grates from 4" through 8" (square or round) have one magnetic element; grates from 10" through 14" have two elements; grates from 16" and
above have three magnetic elements. Use the selection guide below to order the model that best fits your application. When ordering, be sure to specify width, length,
or diameter, and whether you require a standard or quick-clean design.
